  • Ms Ransome

“The lounge on the 1st floor is a lovely space and we had a great evening playing board games there.”

The dining room which is on the ground floor is the heart of the space. If anything the kitchen is a little small but it has good knives, which is a rare treat in a rental cottage! All in all a great time was had. Thank you

The property

Situated on the outskirts of Haworth village, overlooking the picturesque village of Oxenhope, sits this medieval barn conversion next to the owner’s working farm.

Set over three floors, this idyllic property has retained many of its original features throughout, with exposed beams and whitewashed stone walls.

Enter the property and come into a wonderful open-plan kitchen/diner which benefits from its own log effect electric stove/fire, ideal for those chillier evenings, with a large dining table with seating for all six guests, the perfect space for dining together and catching up on the day's events.

The compact kitchen enjoys all the necessary appliances for rustling up some delicious meals or a hearty breakfast.

Situated on the ground floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom with WC and an over the bath shower (The property benefits from gas central heating throughout and double glazing).

Following the steps upstairs, you enter a unique large room which has been carefully converted to include comfortable sofas where you can curl up and unwind in front of the TV, or cosy up in the super-king-size bed and watch a late night movie - Tapestry curtains provide a beautiful screen between the spaces.

A further staircase leads up to the minstrell’s gallery where the games room can be found , complete with a X Box games console, TV and a multi-games table to keep your teenagers/young adults entertained during those quieter evenings.

To the front of Moldy Warp Barn there is an enclosed garden area with a lawn and gravelled areas, boasting some of the most magnificent rural views imaginable - Complete with BBQ and large round table with 6 chairs for alfresco dining evenings.

This property is excellently placed for exploring the beautiful Haworth moorland and accessing some popular sights, including the Hoyle Syke waterfall.

Make sure you travel into the bustling village of Haworth which offers the Brontë Parsonage Museum, a large selection of pubs and restaurants and shops once the family home of the famous Brontë sisters and where they wrote their famous literary works.

About the location

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
