The Gables

My fourth visit to the Gables.

As ever, the house was immaculate. Thanks Avis and Steven for the cookies. They were delicious. The Gables is in a lovely spot for walking and driving. The facilities are ideal and I am already looking forward to trip number 5 next year.

This flat is very clean, quiet and convenient for visiting North Yorkshire.

I have been twice. Access and parking are easy. There are plenty of local facilities. I am very comfortable there.

The Gables was very clean and comfortable with a good sized lounge all amenities provided, the ceiling fan in the bedroom being a very welcome bonus due to very hot weather that week ideal location for touring the area, and would definitely recommend The Gables Derek and Janet

The cottage is in a very good location enabling a cess to several attractive towns including York.

The Gables is cosy and well equipped and was clean throughout. The kitchen is small but we managed to cook for 4 quite easily as well as eating out twice at the Wild Swan in Minskip. We enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again next time we travel north.

My third year in succession at the Gables.

This is such a relaxing place to stay. Amenities are close at hand and the house is comfortable and well equipped. Thanks to Steven for the warm welcome back. Highly recommended.

The Gables is a lovely property, clean, comfortable and well equipped.

An ideal location to explore the area between Harrogate, York and Helmsley. There’s a supermarket and farm shop a very short walk away and we can highly recommend The Crown Hotel for a meal. The only thing we would have liked is a toilet and washbasin in the downstairs bedroom, only because we’re of a certain age.

Fabulous property, spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean.

A beautifully presented property.

Everything we needed and more besides was within the property. Plenty of literature was available and well presented.

Really clean property.

Owners kindly and friendly. Very convenient for us and a good price. Flexible arrangements- we booked Thursday-Thursday. I love the big window in the bedroom. Plenty of storage in there. I found the bed and the pillows slightly uncomfortable. The kitchen was a bit of a challenge for me but we largely ate out. It was a bit cramped and I couldn't face doing battle with the oven. It was clean and that mattered most. Bathroom and sitting room were fine. I think we are likely to visit again. Parking was great. We could walk into Minskip or Boroughbridge.

Ideal location for exploring Yorkshire Property was bright and airy, we loved the upside down living.

The accommodation was first rate. The owners left a lot of information about the immediate area as well options for days out (both wet and dry days).We would highly recommend the property to friends and family.

My second time at the Gables.

Perfect place to stay as it offers comfort and everything needed for a great break. Close to facilities and main routes to essential attractions. Hope to be back next year.

Flat was very clean had all you need for a great holiday.

Was very well equipped, kitchen is small but was no problem cooking etc in it. Bed was comfortable. Flat was warm and also in a good area to visit many places.would use again when in yorkshire.

Lovely bright spacious welcoming apartment.

Very comfortable and spotlessly clean with lots of local information in the apartment on places to visit. Plenty of space for parking and in a great location. Would definitely recommend.

Very well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The kitchen and bathroom are small, which is fine because the living accommodation is light and spacious. Boroughbridge is very well positioned for visiting many interesting places. Quite a long walk into the town centre but easy to park there.

Comfortable, clean and cosy.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, which is very well sited for exploring North Yorkshire and a good base to visit York itself. There's a Morrisons just a few hundred yards down the road, which is very handy. We had mixed weather during our stay, so it was nice to have a lovely cosy retreat in the evening. We didn't actually do any hiking, but if we'd had our wet muddy boots to dry then the carpets and shoe cupboard provided in the accommodation are far too nice to store muddy boots, so you'd have to leave them in the car. Maybe a plastic box (or equivalent) could be provided to help dry muddy boots overnight without causing a mess for anyone.

Enjoyed a weeks stay at this property which is clean and well maintained with all comforts provided.

Two Tvs with Sky ect always a bonus. The owner is very house proud and presents a homely comfortable property to stay at. Sited on the edge of Boroughbridge with easy access to the usual tourist spots in that area and a Morrison's Supermarket a short walk away. We would use this property in the future.

Very comfortable cottage which had all the amenities I needed for a home from home experience.

Great location close to the town and supermarket and to the motorway, with easy access to Knaresborough, Harrogate and York. Would highly recommend.

It is a very comfortable, warm and homely cottage with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. We will be visiting again in the future.

Ideal location for walks and for exploring Yorkshire.

The accommodation was first rate with plenty of equipment in the kitchen and the property generally. The owners left a lot of information about the immediate area as well options for days out (both wet and dry days). It could possibly benefit from having a hair drier available and either a net curtain or a blind in the kitchen window. Would definitely revisit and would highly recommend the property to friend, family and others.

The house was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in and was perfectly positioned for our activities during our stay. When I tripped the electrics (entirely my fault! - I shook my hands dry in direct view of the exposed kettle!) you were most accomodating in putting our electric back on and presenting us with a new kettle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will consider staying again when I next visit my brother who is based in Boroughbridge.

Great directions so easy to find.

The property is beautifully clean and well presented. Plenty of information supplied about the local area. Lots of excellent places to eat locally and Morrison's supermarket a couple of minutes walk away provides all essentials. Many thanks for a restful and pleasant stay.

We had a lovely time again on our second visit.

The hosts were very welcoming. The only comment I would like to make - and it applies to every cottage we visit - there was far too many glasses plates etc which make it very difficult to store foodstuff. Altogether it is alovely appartment.

Many thanks for the flat. We really enjoyed our stay and really only have some minor suggestions that may help you to improve what is a great place to stay. We thought it would have been nice to have a welcome pack. Also some of the basic food and similar items that you don’t want to have to buy specially just for a week would have been useful: e.g., salt pepper and vinegar. There was tea and coffee but for instance the instant coffee in the cupboard was over a year out of its sell by date and unusable. We wonder whether it’d be worth reviewing everything you provide in terms of food, removing the old stuff and focus on what people are most likely to need. Final thought: there are a huge number of glasses (enough for a huge party!) but not many plates etc. Which were rather small.

Holiday very central to all the places we visited

Everything was excellent,well presented.

The only drawback was lack of outside space.

It was clean and comfortable with chairs you could sit in as they were comfortable.

There was plenty of parking and books with ideas that were useful.

A well set out accomidation with every thing in tip top order throughout a very good base to our holliday would visit again

Useful location for Harrogate (and Harlow Carr Gardens), Knaresborough, Ripon (and Fountains Abbey), Thirsk, York, Northallerton, Bowes Museum, etc.

Morrison's only 300 metres away. Good selection of pubs/restaurants and cafes/farm shops atin the area. Good, friendly communications with owner and handy parking next to entrance.

Fabulous accommodation, nice area , car space, l Everything we could want for a weeks relaxing holiday visiting family.

The owners provided very good information on what to do in the local area.

This covered things for wet and dry days and really good local walks. One of the best information packs we have seen in some time & much appreciated.

The Gables is a really nice house spotlessly clean with Everything you need for a perfect stay a real home from home , it is situated on the outskirts of Boroughbridge with just a short walk into town , it has a supermarket close by Morrison’s and is situated near several towns and cities York,Ripon,Thirsk and Harrogate.

There are lot several places nearby to have a meal or a drink pubs and lots of nice tea shops . All in all a perfect stay and would definitely go back
