The Farmhouse Kitchen

A comfortable place in a nice village.

We had not been to the Rlpon area before we spent most days our sightseeing. Nice chilled out in the evenings. The accommodation provided all we needed and was comfortable. A good stay and holiday.

We found the cottage/annexe contained everything we needed, was very comfortable, furnished, decorated and renovated to a high standard with some original features intact to impart an idea of the history of the annexe.

Wath is that unusual blend of peaceful and relaxing whilst well connected.

Everything about the accommodation met our needs and expectations.

We would be pleased to come again and we found the owner, Andy, to be very kind and accommodating.

A lovely property in a wonderful little village - walks in every direction and a great pub too just up the road.

Decent sofa ( so often the sofa lets down self catering properties!), well equipped kitchen, powerful shower and lovely cotton linen on the bed.

We had a great stay in the cottage .

It was very comfortable and well equipped with everything you needed. It was a great base for horse racing at York and Ripon . The George pub across the road is great for a drink and a meal and the locals are very friendly . We would definitely recommend and return .

Our second visit and will return .

In a lovely village the accommodation is so near to many attractions. It is a perfect getaway for two .

Spent a lovely weekend in The Farmhouse Kitchen.

Lovely charming place in a equally charming village. Perfect getaway for two.

Excellent good food local pub

We had an enjoyable, relaxing stay in very comfortable, well-maintained surroundings.

The only minor issue was the shower tap sticks and was very difficult to close after use.

Lovely quirky little cottage.

It had everything required to make your stay comfortable. Perfect location for exploring the local area. Would definitely return!

We very much enjoyed a relaxing stay in the warmth and cosiness of the cottage.

Good quality cooking equipment and dining ware are provided for visitors wishing to self cater. We have no hesitation in recommending.

Lovely little cottage in a quiet village.

Enjoyed eating at theThe George pub across few doors up with its friendly atmosphere and great service. Ideally located to visit Ripon and the beautiful Cathedral, Brimham rocks, Fountains Abbey and Richmond. Very lucky with the weather too.

We had a lovely week at the Farmhouse Kitchen.

The accommodation was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Wath is a quiet rural village with a 13th century church. We visited Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, Richmond Castle, Brimham Rocks and Ripon Cathedral.

A pleasant little cottage, centred in the middle of the village.

Clean and tidy. Ideal for 2 people

Lovely place to base yourself to tour the area.

Very well maintained and beautifully converted space, we will definitely be back

Fantastic property in the heart of North Yorkshire not too far away from Ripon, Knaresborough, Harrogate and York.

Great food/drink at The George Country Inn which is 30 second walk from the property. Owners are really friendly and helpful. One bit of advise I would say is needed would be a bit more information in the handbook regarding towels/bedding if you needed these putting somewhere and recycling/rubbish locations when vacating the property.

Perfect place for 2 people wanting a break, this place is in the most beautiful peaceful little village and has all the requirements you need.

Parking couldnt be any closer to the cottage. The pub is only about 100 yards from the door where you can have a lovely meal. Highly Recommended.

A lovely little cottage and well equipped.

It was a great base to see North Yorkshire.

We had a lovely stay in The Kitchen Farmhouse.

However, there was no information provided on recycling or refuse. We separated out what we are expected to recycle at home and left a note for the cleaner. There was also no information about how to turn on the towel rail in the bathroom which would have been helpful. The only other piece of equipment that would have been useful is a shower squeegee. We also noted that there was no visitors book to sign (we have always found recommendations from other guests helpful). We loved the property and thought it was beautifully furnished and cozy, certainly one to recommend. Thank you.

Ideal base for exploring Ripon and the surrounding area - Fountains Abbey, Aysgarth Falls, Brimham Rocks, Harrogate & Harlow Carr RHS gardens.

Had a nice meal at the George, very convenient! Very comfortable accommodation for two - worked perfectly for us thanks :-)

My sister and I loved our stay at The Farmhouse Kitchen.

Very clean and comfortable. It is small and cozy. A wonderful location for enjoying North Yorkshire and the Dales. The village is friendly and peaceful. Thank you for the milk! Only one tiny negative - there were some dishes which were not very clean and no dish sponge left. Teeny tiny detail which we resolved ourselves. Otherwise I highly recommend this lovely little cottage!

Whilst the cottage was absolutely wonderful and comfortable there were a couple of things I need to comment on.

The shower on its hottest setting only ran at most tepid. The water in the sinks was extremely hot but sadly not the shower. There was no details for disposal of rubbish/recycling or where to leave the used linen and towels on departure.

A cottage of character retaining features from its past including the cast iron kitchen range, plus nooks and crannies left when sympathetic modernisation took place.

Lovely place to stay, very clean, had everything I needed.

Even had a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations! Great location too

This was our second time at 'The Farmhouse Kitchen' and it was just as good as the first.

The property was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed to hand. It is warm, quiet and in a great location if you have a car to go to Ripon, Knaresborough, Masham and Thirsk. There are two good pubs for food, The George just down the road, and the Bull in West Tanfield. There is a nice nature reserve at Nosterfield which is pretty and apart from the varied wildlife and wild flowers provides a nice walk.

We really enjoyed our stay in this well furnished and comfortable property.

Only drawback for us ( couple of a certain age !) was the downstairs bathroom .

A very clean and comfortable property.

A couple of very small gripes: we've been using Sykes for more years than I care to remember and this is the first time there was no welcome pack of a bottle of wine or local biscuits etc. The main pan needs replaced - the non stick part is badly scratched. The downstairs tv is fine but the remote down button won't work making it difficult to choose from a menu. I write this to move the property from 9.5 to 10 out of 10!

On our first visit in 2022 we were overwhelmed with the cottage , but on our second visit we were disappointed at the cleanliness of the cottage, especially the shower, it requires some TLC.

The extractor fan is filthy and not working as it should and the water pressure was not good and some silicone wouldn't go a miss around the base of the shower. The two TV sets need replacing as they have about had it. Apart from those things the cottage was perfect for our needs. Thank you.

Very relaxing holiday and very good local pub which served excellent food

A small but very comfortable property.

Well stocked with all necessary equipment and all the accessories required. Set in a nice village with very friendly pub.

Lovely little cottage that met our requirements for our trip back to North Yorkshire.

Nice, comfortable, big bed; well equipped kitchen; good sitting area; excellent TV options; and quiet, pleasant village.

A very nice little property in a good location for pubs with great food, lovely country walks and access to nearby towns and villages.

The property owners were friendly and helpful. We would be very happy to stay there again.

Absolutely loved it as a bit of a rest for my good lady, only downside was WiFi wasn’t brilliant but it didn’t spoil the couple of days there.

Will definitely come back for a couple of nights.

Lovely place just what we wanted everything you could wish for your romantic getaway definitely go back

Lovely little cottage in a very friendly village.

Everything you need, ideally situated for a visit to Yorkshire . The local pub across the road is so friendly and the food is amazing too. Only downside is the bed was too hard for my back, but that is a personal thing.

We stayed Friday to Monday (Easter Weekend) at the Farmhouse Kitchen we had a lovely comfortable stay the cottage had everything we needed.

The bed was so comfortable. We visited the George for a few refreshments we didn’t have food but were envious of seeing people food arriving. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area, would visit again

The property is very comfortable, prettily decorated, sufficiently stocked, very clean and in a lovely village, close to Ripon.

We had a super stay.

Thanks for a great time.

The cottage is lovely. Our only suggestion would be to have 2 more place settings of cutlery and crockery available to make using the dishwasher easier.

Good accommodation, facilities and location.

We had an excellent and very reasonable meal at the George, good beer and service too.

We very much enjoyed our week in the farmhouse kitchen.

It was clean, warm and comfortable. My only gripe was the underpowered wi fi, but apart from that absolutely no complaints.

The property is well appointed and in a great location for visiting Yorkshire attractions.

The supersized bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The local pub, The George is only 90 steps away which is great because you are served excellent food by the very friendly hosts. Would definitely book again. Helen and Martin

A wonderful holiday cottage set in a delightful village of Wath,North Yorkshire.

We found the cottage very comfortable, very well equipped, very cosy and we would certainly consider staying there in the future. I am unable to find anything negative to say about this cottage.

The farmhouse kitchen is a delightful bijou cottage decorated to a high standard in the small friendly village of Wath.

My wife and I found the cottage very comfortable and not lacking in any amenities. We enjoyed the location as only 15 minutes walk away is the George and Dragon pub where the food and welcome were excellent.

Lovely accomodation.

Everything we needed was there. Excellent location as it is only 3 miles from A1 but also extremely quite in village. Very reasonabley priced also.

The Farmhouse Kitchen was immaculate, beautifully furnished and the kitchen was well equipped.

The village is pretty and peaceful. Everyone in the village I met was very friendly, including the owners. The pub is close by and is open Wednesday to Sunday, the food is excellent. The property is very well place for visiting North Yorkshire.

Beautiful quaint cottage, just the the right size for two, owners friendly and on hand if you need any support.

Very welcoming cottage, lovely & warm with everything needed for a much needed break.

Super bedroom with comfortable bed and excellent shower room. Located in friendly village close to local amenities. Excellent location to visit this part of North Yorkshire.

We enjoyed our stay at Farmhouse Kitchen.

It was a compact living area but ideal for 2 people. The bedroom and bed was excellent. It is a great base for so many lovely Yorkshire places e.g. Fountains Abbey, Masham, Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough and many more. There is a very friendly pub across the road but unfortunately at the moment they are unable to serve food as they haven’t a chef ! I would be very happy to stay again and maybe in the summer.

What a wonderful place to stay.

It was impeccably clean and had all that you could need in a kitchen. The Farmhouse Kitchen has a large, powerful shower and an extremely comfortable bed. Just a few minutes from the motorway, and handy for places like Ripon, Masham and Middleham. We were fortunate to find it available so close to New Year, and would happily return.

We had a lovely stay in The Farmhouse Kitchen this week.

The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. When we arrived we were welcomed with a warmly letter by the owner with places to eat and handy information about the local area which was a really nice touch. We visited lots of places which were a short drive away such as Harewood House, Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough. We will definitely consider this property again in the future and would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

The cottage was warm, clean and well equipped.

Despite the subzero temperatures outside we never felt cold indoors. It was lovely to be greeted with Christmas decorations and all we needed to make a hot drink straight away. Thank you so much for a very relaxing preChristmas break.

Clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped.

Good location which was easy to find and good parking space outside. Had a lovely week. Coped with downstairs toilet as has good staircase and nice touch of a night light downstairs.

Certainly had the Wow factor when we drove up and opened the front doors.

But then it wasn't so good - no one came to explain about the weird central heating system at all!!! First two nights it went off at different times, namely 10.00pm and then 9.00pm, so we were left freezing!!!! So me being me, I hate being beaten and went on line and downloaded the operation manual, and finally managed to get some heating, but only if you moved the switch to 75°c otherwise it just kept switching off, which meant a very cold shower room!!!!! Thank goodness we did some shopping at M&S in nearby Ripon, as no welcome pack not even a pint of milk. However was Tea, Coffee and Sugar, but neither of us don't drink black tea or coffee?! Everyone in the village were really friendly and always said Hi or Good Morning even the guy next door who has a beautiful garden. Sofa was AWESOME - sooooo comfy, as was the huge bed, and lovely soft fluffy white towels!!! Shower room was nice and warm when I got the heating to stay on, with massive shower head. Nice to see other reviewers concerns were sorted - shower caddy installed, so loads of places to hold shower gel, soap etc. and shelf fixed too. Yet again someone had messed around with the TV, so only one channel was watchable, but at least we did have BBC i player!

Our stay was wonderful.

The cottage was comfortable quiet and cozy. The owner took care of us when there was a issue with the village water. The cottage was well equipped. Wath is a nice village with friendly people. There are a couple of Pubs and a nice garden as well as the county lanes within walking distance. We would stay there again. A great value

What a lovely little cottage ,but I'm afraid it needed some TLC ,the two shelves in the bathroom were hanging off the wall and it would have been nice to have a shower caddy in the shower cubicle.

We were both a bit disappointed not to be welcomed into the cottage by the owner. But apart from that it was perfect. Would really recommend a stay at the cottage. The Public House in the village is only serving drinks on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. No Food. The pub in the next village along ,the G&D was a fantastic place. 100% recommended. Thank you again .

The property is great for a couple although not large it is comfortable, clean and well equipped.

It is also handy for lots of attractions but also quiet.

The cottage was excellent, well equipped, tastefully furnished and spotless.

We would thoroughly recommend it. To make it perfect, (and we are being a bit picky perhaps), we would add a Bluetooth speaker, shaver point and access to a washing machine. Honestly, we didn’t miss them, but they would have been useful. We would go back for another stay in a heartbeat. Sorry we only had a week this time. Absolutely great.

Good central position for exploring the county.

Road busy at times with lorries and tractors, but quiet in evening. Cosy cottage with everything we needed for our stay. WIFI a bit hit and miss.

This is a lovely and comfortable place for a couple to stay.

It is nicely placed for trips to the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, and cosy enough to stay in for the day.

Lovely property - definitely recommended for 2 people visiting the area.

Friendly hosts. Interesting building. Beautiful village. Would definitely recommend.

I can't praise the Farmhouse Kitchen highly enough.

The perfect cosy stay for two, every inch of this little place has been cleverly used to make the layout work and create a luxurious space. All the fittings are top quality and the decor is lovely. Add to that nice touches like complimentary tea and coffee and you know the owners really want you to enjoy your stay. Thank you very much!

A comfortable and cosy property.

Everything we wanted and spotlessly clean. Great location for exploring the area. Enjoyed a couple of good meals in the village pub and also an easy stroll to the neighbouring village where there is another smashing little pub with great food.

Liked the property but village was too quite only thing was the pub to visit which was good food and beer.

Had problems with internet connection was also effected the tv reception started to watch a program or film but not very often saw the end as we lost internet connection

The Farmhouse cottage is a lovely place to stay.

Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Very handy to visit places of interest. 2 lovely pubs nearby that serve tasty food. The only small item I’d mention is that the sofa base cushions were sagging a bit. Would stay again.

Nice pad, shame about the weather!

!!! Worth noting; kitchen foil and cling film are not supplied. Also, a soap/shampoo basket in the shower cubicle would be handy. A last minute booking we didn't allow the rain to dampen our spirits and made the most of the week. Delicious food across across the road at The George Inn, and on the one and only sunny day, a delightful drive to Reeth and The Punch Bowl Inn at Long Row. I have to say, though, that this is the first holiday accommodation we have stayed at where the owners live alongside, yet they chose not to make direct contact. This is not a complaint per se, but The Farm House Kitchen lacks the personal touch, and is the reason I have given four stars not five.

The owners have created a delightful cottage which is a perfect getaway for a couple.

Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. A nice touch was having all the kitchen cleaning essentials provided for. The super-king bed was ‘super-comfy’. Weth is a peaceful little village in a great location to explore gorgeous Nidderdale and the rest of the Yorkshire Dales. We had such a relaxing time and would not hesitate to return to this lovely cottage annex. A bonus was having such a nice village pub on the doorstep too. Definitely worth a visit.

Exactly as described.

Very accommodating with parking, especially as we had a van. Lovely place to stay and would definitely return.

We have just returned from a lovely week at the Farmhouse Kitchen.

It is located in a very pretty village that is about 10 mins drive from Ripon. Really great location and we visited Ripon, Fountains Abbey, Harlow Carr and Richmond, many other lovely places in easy reach. The cottage itself is very picturesque, beautifully designed and decorated, and well equipped. Lots of storage in the bedroom, and the lounge area is particularly cosy. Thanks for a lovely week, we hope to return soon!

A lovely, cosy, comfortable cottage in a delightful, friendly village.

It was immaculately clean, tastefully furnished and had everything that I needed for my stay. Situated within easy reach of Ripon, Thirsk and lots of other historic and beautiful places of interest, it is an ideal base for exploring this part of the country. I was lucky with having nice weather and I was genuinely sad to leave; I hope one day to come back and visit the places that I missed. Can't recommend enough!

This is a really BRILLIANT place to stay, and there is no doubt that we want to come back again at some stage in the future.

The cottage is beautifully furnished and appointed and (despite what some have implied) everything we needed was there. It was spotlessly clean, and a real joy to stay in. We also felt quite at home in the community of Wath, and were genuinely sad to leave. The owner was so kind, and the neighbours the other side too. We got lots of recommendations for good walks, many of which we enjoyed. As a base for walking in the eastern dales, this is a perfect launchpad. Oh, and make sure you book into the pub over the road for food - it's great!!

A lovely cottage in this beautiful village of Wath.

The cottage was the perfect size for us and a nice terrace outside to enjoy the sunny weather. The pub opposite - The George - is one of the best pubs we've visited in England. We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Farmhouse Kitchen.

What a fantastic place to stay.

Lovely location, great cottage for our needs.

Everything was amazing, however, there were a few things: 1.

There was a dishwasher, but no dishwasher tablets, we had to buy those. 2. There was a washing up liquid, but no sponge. 3. There were shampoo and conditioner, but no shower gel. 4. There were cooking and olive oil, but no salt and pepper. When you visit this cottage, buy everything as unlike other places, they don't provide these facilities.

We loved Wath and the Farmhouse Kitchen.

Perfect for the two of us for a relaxing getaway. Very clean, cosy and comfortable. The added bonus of the newly opened George pub which was less than 50 metres away. Super food and very friendly. The accommodation is perfectly placed for visiting the beautiful surrounding area, Ripon, Harrogate,Studley Gardens, Harlow Carr Gardens etc. We were blessed with gorgeous weather too but then it’s always like that in North Yorkshire! If you’re after a quite getaway in a lovely village then this is the one for you.

The farmhouse kitchen was an excellent base for exploring the local area, the facilities in the accommodation were excellent.

We didn’t have the opportunity to sample the local pub as it was still getting refurbed but we will definitely use the accommodation again and will take advantage then.

We had a lovely stay at The Farmhouse Kitchen it’s in a lovely peaceful village and well positioned for plenty of sightseeing.

Would highly recommend.

We had the most enjoyable time the accommodation was lovely teal home from home visited many beautiful places but never got chance to visit everything so will definitely be back and book the farm house cottage again.

A cosy, well designed and equipped property in a great location for exploring the area.

We had a wonderful time in this cosy cottage.

Everything was provided that you could possibly need. The area was lovely and as we were very lucky with the weather we went on many beautiful walks.

Absolutely loved this delightful little cottage.

Had everything we needed. Didn’t want the stay to end. Would not hesitate to return.

Cottage was lovely, cosy and had everything we needed for a relaxing break away.

Perfect little place for a quiet get away

The accommodation was perfect for a couple and young child.

Location was excellent in easy reach of Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Fountains Abbey and many more. Very clean property and excellent use of space

lovely little place, really cosy and comfy really enjoyed staying there :))

Simply superb!

The Farmhouse Kitchen is in a small village near Ripon and has great road links to other interesting locations nearby. The internal space is well thought out. It's clean and fresh with a well-equipped kitchen (and I really appreciated having the appliance handbooks to refer to), excellent wi-fi and off road parking. Comfortable sleeping too! Definitely one to book again!

The accommodation was like a home from home didn’t need for anything, great selection of tv channels excellent WiFi location was perfect as close to York, Ripon, Harrogate and many more will definitely be back to stay in this place

The Farmhouse cottage was more than adequate for our needs.

We were there when the weather was particularly challenging but the cottage heating was lovely warm and cosy. A very comfy well equipped cottage. Very handy for exploring the Ripon area.
