  • "Kiwi Cottage (28 Devonshire Street) is a very comfortable and well appointed cottage."

Plenty of space for 2-3 people, the rooms are clean and well decorated. It is well located and getting from the cottage to Skipton town centre takes only a few minutes on foot. We did have a problem about contacting the managing agent of the property as the phone number given by the owners was (according to BT) an incorrect number.

Thanks for letting us know about the ph number. We will double check that the number is currently valid. So glad you were comfortable in the house and that you found the location so good for strolling into Skipton. Property Owner

The parking could be a bit of a problem Builders two doors down started bang on roof repairs approximately 0730hrs Tues Wed Thursday We left one day early Thursday We had no problem with the house

We’re sorry there was neighbourhood noise from the local roofer. If you had let our property manager know about this problem ( his 24/7 ph number is in the guest book ) I’m sure he would have had a friendly word with the roofer to try and ensure the work began later! We’re glad to hear that the house itself was fine, despite the lack of off street parking- which is often an issue in older streets and cottages we agree. Property Owner

About the location

SKIPTON

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
