The cottage is lovely, furnished very well, all kitchen equipment you could require. Beds beautifully comfortable, no trouble sleeping in those. All that & only two minute walk through the alley and directly into the High street, a definite advantage. The town very well served with major supermarkets only a 10 minute walk around the corner. Words cannot express the beauty of the Dales. THE COTTAGE. The Hot water boiler was broken on arrival (water when running from taps kept going cold, however owner & caretaker done all they could to rectify). This was still not as good as it should be when we left. Television reception abysmal not possible to watch. This was a disappointment as after a very long day hiking all that is required is a hot bath/shower & relax in front of the TV. We believe an aerial booster would rectify this problem. If the above were addressed we shall have no hesitation in booking this cottage over & over again.

This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street.
