  • "Lovely little cottage within a 2 minute walk in to town."

Although compact the cottage provides everything you need for your stay. Running the bath takes a little tweaking. The beds were really comfortable. There are plenty of places to eat in Skipton. I would recommend Le Bristro Mon Amis. A boat ride along the canal is a must. A great way to spend a relaxing hour. We had a great time and would definitely come back.

Bath/shower is not at all user friendly as others have mentioned. A high bath to climb into & then a hand held shower head with a plastic shower curtain clinging to you is not ideal. A walk in shower & a light over the mirror for shaving/or makeup & the cottage would be ideal

Property very comfortable, as were the beds, not a great fan of shower curtains in a bath with only a hand held shower head, but was manageable. Would have been useful to have a socket for a hairdryer beside a mirror, but again not a deal breaker. Look forward to returning to explore the area more.

The only problem I had was getting into and out the bath. I did see it before I booked the cottage but did not realises how deep it was and being only 5ft it was a bit awkward. That is my personal view but other than that it was perfect.

  • "Beautiful cottage and central position in Skipton."

Clean and everything was generally perfect. The one issue that needs addressing is the bath and shower system. There was no fixing for the shower attachment and so had to be hand held. The shower curtain placement made this difficult. To run a bath which had to be done slowly to keep the temperature of the water hot had to be so slowly that the bath was tepid when entering the bath. This had been addressed by previous occupants.

  • "We agreed with many other reviews that the shower facility must be improved."

The owner has gone for ‘pretty’ but not practical. Remove the bath which is awkward and install a proper shower cubicle which will prevent flooding of the floor and allow a proper comfortable shower. The kitchen cupboards and fridge are very low and if bending is a problem then retrieving crockery and using the fridge is difficult. Plug sockets are not conveniently placed especially as there is only one socket for three appliances in the kitchen area. An extension lead for the bedroom would allow the hairdryer to be easier to use. A second bedside table and lamp instead of the chair would be better. Other reviews have also made similar comments but as yet no action seems to have been taken by the owner.

  • "We loved the location of the cottage and the parking."

We were disappointed with the beds. It was advertised as a King bed with zip link, it clearly was not. It was two separate single beds with single duvets and no zip link option. I do this this needs to be amended on your listing so people can make an informed choice. We were staying for a romantic weekend to celebrate an anniversary and the bed situation was not acceptable to us. The bath/shower scenario is OK, but it is very difficult for an older person to get in and out of the bath and have a shower, as you are not able to stand up to have a shower. The cottage was clean, quiet and cosy with good heating and warmth and good facilities.

There was no room to put any food that we needed for the week. Cupboards full of plates different sizes and dishes, there was 2 of us and no room for anything else. The other cupboard was full of cleaning products and very difficult to get to the toaster etc. Storage a major problem. The bathroom looked amazing but not practical, the paper said to let the water in the bath run slowly, I did and it took half an hour to get 4 inches of water. The shower seemed fine but as I washed my hair the water was boiling so had to get out. My husband tried it and it was the same. Not good at all. Others had the same problem in the visitors book. Would not be back, we left early.

The cottage was very well situated and access to the high street just down an alley. A few more pans wouldn't go amiss and a few less cleaning materials in the kitchen cupboard. The cottage is ideally suited for numerous walks from the door and we only used the car once to go to Grassington, so the on site parking was great. Unfortunately the beauty and comfort of the rolled topped bath is spoilt by a very impractical shower. It's very difficult to juggle shower gel and wash yourself without getting caught up in the curtain. A walk in shower would be much better. We decided to have baths instead but we couldn't alter the temperature of the water so they were only warm at best. The large bathroom window had clear glass so to have privacy the dark brown blind had to be lowered all the time. There are no coat hooks, no where to put muddy boots, no toilet brush, storage for food or a front door key. The electricity tripped when using the toaster on two occasions. In order to reset the fuse the fridge freezer had to be pulled out of a cupboard. These issues are such a shame as it has the potential to be a first class cottage.

  • "Daisy cottage was a nice little cottage."

It was clean and obviously well cared for. The private parking space was a bonus. It was well situated in the centre of Skipton being only seconds from the High Street. The downstairs is open plan and cosy but would benefit from a proper blind/curtain on the kitchen window and back door as there was little privacy at night with the downstairs lights on. Upstairs the bathroom looked fantastic with a large roll top bath with beautiful looking shower over. However this proved to be fairly impractical in use and I would advise that this is not suitable for use by the elderly. The bathroom also suffered from lack of privacy at night as the large clear glass window was only covered by a see through blind. The bathroom door would not close, something I see has been reported in previous reviews but not dealt with. In the bedroom space was taken up by what seemed unnecessary items ie a large wash stand when it may have been better to replace it with a bedside cabinet and lamp. The wardrobe and a number of drawers were full of various items of bedding leaving little room for clothing. We enjoyed our stay but it was marred by a totally impractical bathroom.

Hard to imagine anywhere better in that regard. Good private parking. Just a few things - could have done with a bedside table on my side of the bed, not just the missus'. Come to think of it, there were two beds - would have preferred a double. Rather chintzy decor, but perhaps aimed at much older people. The antique jug and wash-basin stand was going a bit too far though. The bath was very strange, with a plug that closed/opened every time we stepped or sat on it, and it was impossible to avoid doing that. The overhanging centre taps were very much in the way and the shower curtain clinged disconcertingly in a 360° cold wet embrace. The bathroom door would not shut. Had a good time though.

Furnishings were to a high standard. And I personally liked the large single beds, so comfortable, i slept very well. The location was exceptional, really close to the market town of Skipton.but you never heard noise at night from the town.so close if you had forgotten something it would only be 5 minutes to go back and collect.change foot wear or use the bathroom. The church chimed in Skipton and it was very delightful, idyllic .we had a front door and a back door both accessible to the town and to people watch. And our car was safely parked outside ourback door in its Owen parking space at no cost at all..we never used the car all week it was fabulous.we used the train twice and it was great. There was plenty to do in Skipton,a delightful market town, restaurants and pubs ,and a market 4times a week. Town hall has plenty of things going on through the week as well. This is our second time to Skipton and Daisy cottage is the best bye far, and we can't wait to come again and stay at Daisy cottage. And I must say Amy the owener of Daisy cottage was great, so helpful and accommodating.
