  • "Great cottage, very clean and tidy, comfy beds, parking space and two minutes from the market square and canal."

A constructive criticism I hope regarding the bath and shower. It looks nice but a bit impractical, maybe worth the investment in a shower cubicle. Enjoyed our stay, thank you.

  • "This was a very cosy cottage in a fantastic location - could not be better."

Although small the cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The addition of a dedicated parking spot made it perfect for our needs. Skipton is a lovely place to visit and this cottage was the ideal way to do it. Even the weather cooperated!!!!!

Unfortunately, as mentioned in previous Reviews, hot water in bathroom difficult to adjust and could pose a “scalding” accident. TV also limited to one Itv channel. Handset didn’t work. But didn’t stop us having a great time. Thank you.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a great place."

There was no room to put any food that we needed for the week. Cupboards full of plates different sizes and dishes, there was 2 of us and no room for anything else. The other cupboard was full of cleaning products and very difficult to get to the toaster etc. Storage a major problem. The bathroom looked amazing but not practical, the paper said to let the water in the bath run slowly, I did and it took half an hour to get 4 inches of water. The shower seemed fine but as I washed my hair the water was boiling so had to get out. My husband tried it and it was the same. Not good at all. Others had the same problem in the visitors book. Would not be back, we left early.

  • "Great location for Skipton centre, canal, castle etc."

Good to have parking outside - didn't have to use the car at all as everywhere is walkable. Generally well equipped accommodation. Only quibble was the shower being temperamental - difficult to get a steady temperature.

Very clean. Could do with something to hang wet coats on also nowhere to keep you food apart from the fridge, maybe a small cupboard instead of the table in the kitchen area, having said that we would certainly stay there again.

  • "When we arrived the key safe opened as soon as I pulled down the rubber cover."

The front door lock was very hard to open and there was no where to hang coats or a tray for shoes and boots. Storage seemed to be the big problem, try watching George Clarks small spaces. The cottage was very well situated and access to the high street just down an alley. A few more pans wouldn't go amiss and a few less cleaning materials in the kitchen cupboard. The cottage is ideally suited for numerous walks from the door and we only used the car once to go to Grassington, so the on site parking was great. Would thoroughly recommend Skipton as a place to stay if not just for evening walks and a beer by the canal watching the world go by and the numerous good eateries.

  • "A beautiful, clean cottage with quality furnishings in an excellent location with a parking space."

Unfortunately the beauty and comfort of the rolled topped bath is spoilt by a very impractical shower. It's very difficult to juggle shower gel and wash yourself without getting caught up in the curtain. A walk in shower would be much better. We decided to have baths instead but we couldn't alter the temperature of the water so they were only warm at best. The large bathroom window had clear glass so to have privacy the dark brown blind had to be lowered all the time. There are no coat hooks, no where to put muddy boots, no toilet brush, storage for food or a front door key. The electricity tripped when using the toaster on two occasions. In order to reset the fuse the fridge freezer had to be pulled out of a cupboard. These issues are such a shame as it has the potential to be a first class cottage.

Hot water only luke warm and seem to run hot and cold alternately making a both and shower impossible. Nowhere to put a washbag or toothbrush in the bathroom except on the floor. Needs a bathmat and a decent shower stall..What was the linen basket for? Pointess wash stand in the bedroom and all the drawere were full of bedlinen - what are you supposed to do with the four cushions on the bed except leave them on the floor. Towel needed in the kitchen

There were no instructions or information pack with the cottage, you had to work out how to operate the cooker by trial and error. • "We had a wonderful few days at daisy cottage in stilton."

. The cottage was beautifully presented ,it was small and quaint and cosy, because it was tucked away behind the high St, it was so quiet and we were only one minute from the high St with lots of shops pubs and restaurants. They have a really good outdoor market several days a week along the high St. The icing on the cake is you have a proper parking space right outside the cottage, we can't wait to go back soon.

  • "Daisy cottage was a nice little cottage."

It was clean and obviously well cared for. The private parking space was a bonus. It was well situated in the centre of Skipton being only seconds from the High Street. The downstairs is open plan and cosy but would benefit from a proper blind/curtain on the kitchen window and back door as there was little privacy at night with the downstairs lights on. Upstairs the bathroom looked fantastic with a large roll top bath with beautiful looking shower over. However this proved to be fairly impractical in use and I would advise that this is not suitable for use by the elderly. The bathroom also suffered from lack of privacy at night as the large clear glass window was only covered by a see through blind. The bathroom door would not close, something I see has been reported in previous reviews but not dealt with. In the bedroom space was taken up by what seemed unnecessary items ie a large wash stand when it may have been better to replace it with a bedside cabinet and lamp. The wardrobe and a number of drawers were full of various items of bedding leaving little room for clothing. We enjoyed our stay but it was marred by a totally impractical bathroom.

Excellent walks along Leeds and Liverpool canal. We actually hired a day boat from Snaygill boats in Skipton ,which was well equipped and even included tea and coffee etc. Property was ideally situated, tucked behind the High Street, near the canal. Supermarket 5 mins walk away. Definitely the cleanest and most comfortable property we have ever rented. Comfortable beds and settee.

  • "Great location - very close to most of the things we wanted to do/go see."

Hard to imagine anywhere better in that regard. Good private parking. Just a few things - could have done with a bedside table on my side of the bed, not just the missus'. Come to think of it, there were two beds - would have preferred a double. Rather chintzy decor, but perhaps aimed at much older people. The antique jug and wash-basin stand was going a bit too far though. The bath was very strange, with a plug that closed/opened every time we stepped or sat on it, and it was impossible to avoid doing that. The overhanging centre taps were very much in the way and the shower curtain clinged disconcertingly in a 360° cold wet embrace. The bathroom door would not shut. Had a good time though.

  • "The cottage was very homely and comfortable, and very well equipped with what we needed."

Furnishings were to a high standard. And I personally liked the large single beds, so comfortable, i slept very well. The location was exceptional, really close to the market town of Skipton.but you never heard noise at night from the town.so close if you had forgotten something it would only be 5 minutes to go back and collect.change foot wear or use the bathroom. The church chimed in Skipton and it was very delightful, idyllic .we had a front door and a back door both accessible to the town and to people watch. And our car was safely parked outside ourback door in its Owen parking space at no cost at all..we never used the car all week it was fabulous.we used the train twice and it was great. There was plenty to do in Skipton,a delightful market town, restaurants and pubs ,and a market 4times a week. Town hall has plenty of things going on through the week as well. This is our second time to Skipton and Daisy cottage is the best bye far, and we can't wait to come again and stay at Daisy cottage. And I must say Amy the owener of Daisy cottage was great, so helpful and accommodating.

  • "We found the cottage very comfortable for two and spotlessly clean."

It is situated in a quiet cul de sac just 20mts from the high street with a private parking space just outside the front door. The fixtures and fittings are of a high standard. The only small criticism we have was that the shower over the bath was very claustrophobic due to the shower curtain space being quite small. We were welcomed with milk and biscuits and Amy the owner checked that we were comfortable and was just a phone call away if we needed anything. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to a return visit.

The cottage offers everything you may need for a self catering holiday and I had a very peaceful stay with no noise whatsoever from neighbouring properties. Skipton is a great Town to be based to explore the Yorkshire Dales and I had a very enjoyable two week stay.
