  • "Very good canalside apartment and great location with just a 10 min walk into the town centre ."

    Apartment was clean, modern and to a high standard , just lacked a couple of chairs to sit on the patio . I would also highlight that given there is a house above the property that we didn't appreciate being woken up at 5am both mornings. Overall a great weekend in a great town .

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

    The location is perfect for visiting Skipton and the secure parking was great. The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We only experienced a couple of minor issues such as the Wi-Fi wasn’t working which meant we couldn’t watch the TV. There was only one teabag provided. We also tried to contact the host about an issue during our stay but unfortunately didn’t receive a response which was disappointing. These were only minor issues and didn’t affect our overall experience. We would definitely stay again if we was visiting Skipton.

  • "What a fantastic location, waters edge did not disappoint, stunning interior, comfortable bed, great en-suite, facilities was great town center and amenities lovely and local."

    The couple of negative points we struggled with, was in this heat, there was no fan and no windows to open, so we suffered with no cool air, but other than that it was good.

  • "The property was clean and comfortable and brilliantly situated on the canal so it was just a short walk to the town centre."

    Our only suggestion is the property could do with a few more cups and plates so that we were not constantly washing up. We would happily stay there again if visiting Skipton in the future.

  • "Great location for exploring the Yorkshiredales, beautifully maintained, only issue was that it was quite warm up on the mezzanine floor at night, not having a window to open to circulate the air made it a little sticky."

  • "The property was in a central location with easy access to trains, buses, town centre (5 minute walk via canal) & supermarkets plus private car parking facilities."

    A peaceful tranquil place to stay overlooking the canal with great views of the canal boats, swans and ducks. Well worth the money and would highlyrecommend a stay at this property.

  • "Waters Edge is a beautiful duplex, recently converted to a very high standard."

    It is immaculate throughout. It was warm and cosy despite the chilly October weather. Andy the owner was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed watching the barges and swans on the canal from the lounge. It’s in a great location with easy walking distance to the centre of Skipton, supermarkets and train station (about 5 mins walk for each). Skipton has lots of lovely shops, restaurants, cafes and the street market. It is also easy to access the beautiful Yorkshire Dales from Waters Edge. We would love to return here.

  • "First visit to historic Skipton and it didn’t disappoint!"

    The accommodation was pristine-very well appointed/ sleek modern design yet cosy. Perfect for a romantic weekend break. Waters Edge is a fantastic location for easy walking access to the castle, market and great selection of shops restaurants cafes etc. We enjoyed the outlook over the canal and opposite tow path from our private terrace and through the huge plate glass window

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
