Fantastic property,all the amenities are first class,lovely and clean, comfortable, well situated for the town center and the castle.

we stayed for the week could have done with more towels , the television was a bit of a challenge getting it to work properly but that’s all , overall a top class place, will certainly use it again.Tip if going in a heatwave take a fan.

Brilliant central location within 5 -10 minutes walk of the centre of Skipton, (restaurants, cafes and pubs), Morrisons Supermarket and railway station.

The property was spotlessly clean with comfortable sofa and bed. Good kitchen facilities if you plan to cook for yourself. We ate off trays (that we had brought) as the kitchen table and seats were not comfortable for us. Great shower room (again very clean) with hand soap and toilet paper provided. Shower gel would have been welcome but we brought our own. Adequate linen and a hair dryer provided. Thanks to the owners for the milk, coffee and tea provided. (Sadly, no salt and pepper). Lovely view of the canal. We would recommend this property and would not hesitate to stay again. Now for the negatives. We noticed that the owners had taken on board many of the previous reviews and made improvements. Our main problem was parking. We have a Ford Fiesta and had read previous reviews. We avoided the left side of the drive which is extremely high. However, we still scrapped the undercarriage on arrival (with our luggage on board). To avoid this happening again my husband was in the car alone when it was manoeuvred in and out of the drive, (ie no heavy luggage or wife). We parked the car on the road when we packed it prior to leaving. In addition, parking to ensure the neighbours had enough space was quite a challenge. The only other issue for us was the Smart TV which was very temperamental. Reviews have mentioned the stairs. We didn't find them challenging (despite a minor disability) but I guess that as they are tiled rather than carpeted they may look a little formidable. However, if you have mobility issues they may be a be a challenge. I would second those who asked for a chair or stool in the lobby for those who can't bend down to put boots/shoes on.

Wow wow wow fantastic cottage looked small from outside but it was massive inside had everything and more very comfortable very clean and warm.

I choose really well we could walk into Skipton in minutes we had parking and a great view of the canal I can imagine in the summer watching the boats with the window open going through the bridge Go you will not be disappointed it really is fantastic we will return John & Margaret English

Great location, lovely apartment, lack of lighting under kitchen units only minor lack.

Lovely apartment, clean, comfortable and well equipped for two people.

Great shower and comfy bed. Ideal location just a short walk to the town centre with views over the canal and moor, parking right outside the door although the kerb is a bit high on one side. Teabags, coffee, sugar and milk much appreciated thank you. Although the apartment was warm enough our only niggle was being unable to control the upstairs thermostat. Would also just suggest a non-slip mat in the shower and spare bin bags for longer stays. We had a lovely stay and would recommend Water's View for a stay in Skipton.

Very clean and well kept up property.

Approx ten minutes walk into Skipton which has lots of facilities. Lovely view of the canal.

The location is perfect for Skipton and the surrounding area.

5 minute walk to high street. Quiet area with great off street parking. Spoilt for choice of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. Loads to see and do. Plaza cinema is a trip back in time and worth a visit. Will definitely book again.

I have delayed my review as some of the criticisms I have, have already been mentioned in the book and on line, none of which have been addressed.

On reflection it may make a difference. Window blind cord in kitchen too short. Fridge door broken Heating and hot water erratic Stairs no hand rail at the bottom. No contact number for owners. No casserole dish with lid No enough cutlery. On a positive note we loved the bed the location and parking and didn't use the car all week. The biggest problem for me was the stairs not suitable for people with poor mobility should be in the description. We would not return because of this fact alone.

Second time staying here and we intend to return !

Love the property’s location, shower, bed and off street parking. Loads of info of where to visit etc. So much to commend this house. A constructive suggestion. It’s equipped for 2 but a few extra plates etc would mean more efficient use of the dishwasher or hand washing.

It’s in an excellent position—very close to the town centre but quiet enough.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t use the parking spot as our car bottomed out trying to get up the kerb and onto the standing. It would have been pretty tight anyway, but we managed with on-street parking.

Lovely accommodation ideally situated for the canal and town centre off rd parking is a plus would definitely stay again This is not a criticism but if your unsteady on your feet the stairs are a little steep but there is a banister rail to hold

The owner failed to contact us with the code for the key safe.

We called Sykes the day before our check in. The owners didn’t answer the phone to Sykes, or respond to their email. We called Sykes again 30 minutes before check in. Took 15 minutes to get to speak to someone. Luckily he got hold of the cleaner 10 minutes before check in! Very poor behaviour by the owners.

Very modern, clean and comfortable accomodation.

Easily spacious enough for two people. Everything we needed was provided. Great to have a parking space in front and was very close to the town centre. Great views of the canal from the living area and bedroom. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean good location and parking.

Some niggles , heating controls need to be provided as we found it a little cold in the evenings. We visited in late September when the weather was cooler. Other visitors have said it needs more cutlery and crockery if you are to use the dishwasher effectively. Overall a good property which I would visit again.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable.

It was near to the shops and pubs that all served very good meals. The entrance, lounge and kitchen were all on the ground floor. The bedroom and bathroom were down the stairs. However the toilet seat needed fixing as it was not stable and needed attention. The stairs were difficult to go down especially as I had broken my ankle several months ago. David and Pauline

Felt like I had just started moving in.

Not really clean, every time i moved something, say a basket on the counter, a pile of dead bugs and cobwebs. Same with moving a chair or table. No first aid kit, when leaving had to literally polish the place - not easy to cook in - bed not very comfy, stairs very steep with a suitcase. Eating at little counter in cheap flimsy bar stools not exactly romantic. NO TOILET PAPER. Had run out and buy some as soon as we arrived, jet lagged, all the was from Seattle WA. Did like location and the size - it could be so much more welcoming and comfortable with a few little inexpensive bits. Oh, and the fridge was filthy when we arrived. I cleaned it before use and again before we left.

Waters View was a lovely place to stay, the property was immaculate, it was in a fantastic location close to the canal and the centre of the town, parking was a bonus, we would highly recommend and will definitely return

Highly recommend this apartment - great location so close to town, off road parking, and lovely views over the canal.

The apartment has everything you need for two, very comfortable bed and the best shower in Skipton. We have stayed in a number of houses and the water pressure is always low so this shower is fantastic. The stairs could be an issue if you’re nervous about stairs but again, we have stayed in houses which had steeper stairs. Alan is on hand if you need anything - we didn’t - but it’s good to know he’s available if you need him. Can’t wait to come back again.

We can not fault anything about the property and the bonus is car parking on site. It has a good view of the canal and a lovely walk into town.

Couldn't have wished for a better accommodation, location, parking on site , lovely walks start within 2 mins of your front door, town center within 5 minutes walk , what else do you need .

Lovely property close to the heart of the town.

Clearly a modern development and well thought through. As with previous comments, a little more lighting options in the living areas would be welcome. Furniture is a little sparse in the living room, with some 'empty' areas seeking a little something to make the place more homely. Kitchen is excellent, though why would you cook yourself with the superb selection of cafes and restaurants in the town (try Le Cavea). We hope to be back when it's warmer outside!

Very modern , in excellent situation near High St. , with a view of the canal and personal parking space right at door. Ideal for us but the stairs could be problematic for anyone with mobility problems. Will be back.

This property is superb, true to the pictures advertised.

Skipton has loads of lovely pubs most serving food and great walks direct from the front door. If we were being really picky we would recommend a couple of lamps in the lounge for mood lighting. Communication with Andy the owner was brilliant we will be booking again.

The property is of a very high standard (ie one of the best out of many we have been to) but let down by the niggles reported by previous guests which have not been remedied.

If I went again I would take a teapot, flood lighting for the kitchen, non slip shower mat and notes on how to undo the hob lock, steps to reach the draw cord on the blinds. (The cords could of course be lengthened as in my own home!) The bedroom lighting is excellent unlike the upper living area! A possible low cost improvement would be to add strip lighting under the kitchen cupboards.

Very clean, quiet and well appointed cottage, all the essentials and thoughtful touches including milk in fridge.

Note bedroom and bathroom is downstairs. Convenient to Skipton canals and centre. Highly recommend.

Everything ok except for the lack of egg cups

Second time at waters view and would recommend this property.

Short walk along the canal to the high street with a market and places to eat. Will be back again.

Would have thought a non slip mat in shower, and an extension to the stairs handrail would have made it perfect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although, as per previous feedback in the book at the home, the lamp didn't work, a teapot would be a good addition and a mat in the shower, as was very slippery.

It is in a great location to walk into Skipton or to travel to nearby sites of interest.

We had a problem getting into the property as the owner had given us the wrong information about the key collection.

It was very clean and had everything we needed. There is a problem with the fridge door which had been noted by several other visitors in the visitors book but not resolved yet. The towel rail did not get warm so our towels never dried. The shower has no non slip-mat so didn't feel very safe.

ideal location and parking was a real bonus. only problem we had ,was not receiving any key information.this was sorted by ringing Sykes on the morning of our booking. Andy called straight back and was very apologetic.

Great place to stay and proximity to town.

A very conveniently located, and well looked after property, as described on the website.

One or two minor issues including the wifi code being wrong on the little blackboard. Fortunately we found the right code on the router. Better lighting would be appreciated in the kitchen/living room areas. We've booked to come back in July so on the whole we're happy with the property.

The stairs in this property were quite a challenge being steep and with angular edges, you'd not want to fall on them.

Would be far better if carpeted. The fridge door was broken in that the outside and inside doors were no longer connected and it could be quite a struggle to open the actual fridge door. Other than these comments it was a great house that is well situated in Skipton. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very close to Skipton town centre with parking, which is a great bonus.

Lovely view over canal from lounge and bedroom. We had a small issue with heating which was quickly rectified. Wi-fi and TV were a bit temperamental and basic instructions for appliances would have been helpful. We had a good week's holiday and would stay again.

Ideally situated just outside the heart of Skipton and a parking space!

Well laid out accommodation.

Although we enjoyed the week in the apartment there was some issues.

The stairs down to the bedroom are not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. We to wash quite a few cupboard items plus frying pan and items in the bathroom. We had problems with the TV , however although Sykes contacted the owner we were not contacted back . All other properties we have stayed left booklet with information for TV , cooker, heating etc , also contact details. Others have previously mentioned the window cord , cleaning materials, more crockery. Sorry to be so negative , improvements would benefit as would communication.

Just a couple of things.

The driveway/carpark space needs sorting out we damaged the underneath of our car .we drove very slowly The cord for the blind in the kitchen is to high I had to climb up on the side to reach it not good for a 67 year old. I loved my stay beautiful accommodation

Location was excellent.

To view the TV we had to do some rearranging of the furniture then put everything back the day before we left. Due to the angle of the property, the bedroom lacks privacy as it looks directly and is visible to/from the neighbour's garden. Perhaps some lace curtains or shutter blinds would have helped.

Well presented modern apartment done to a high standard over looking the canal.

Very close to the town, shops etc. Appears only recently to have become a holiday let and everything is new. It was well equipped generally . There is plumbing for washing machine and space so be even better if owners are going put in a washing machine. Few minor suggestions for owners to make even better than it already is - 1. Info leaflets on the thermostat and dish washer would have been useful. 2. The Tv is totally wrong angle in relation to the angle of the sofa. 3. I know a 2 person flat , but could do with at least 6 dishes, plates, mugs etc not just 4 of each. With 2 dishes used at breakfast then lunch and tea be better and more economical for dishwasher use. 4. There was one lounge chair to sit and look over the canal be nice to have had 2. 5. Totally appropriate the roller blind cords having be so short, but to reach especially over the sink unit nigh on impossible. Please provide a simple plastic step stool. These suggestions are no way a negative , asked for feedback to help owners improve things. We had a lovely relaxing week and would recommend to family and friends.

recommend an oven liner and teapot please plus maybe leave some cleaning sprays we took our own but not all folk do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waters View over the weekend, the whole accommodation has been refurbished to a high standard and was the perfect peaceful retreat for our child free weekend.

The location of the property is also perfect, just a couple of minutes walk along the canal and you are in the town centre. We will definitely be back.

A great location overlooking the canal, giving easy access to Skipton with all the town has to offer and to the surrounding area. The apartment is new and this is reflected in the quality of the decor and fittings. It is well stocked with equipment for eating in but there are really good eateries in town. Personally, and this is personal, the TV on the wall was a little too high and angled slightly away from the settee causing some discomfort. The owner rang the day before with key instructions and advice re local activities. A nice personal touch. We recommend this property for a stay in Skipton.

This is a hidden gem!

Waters View is a spacious and immaculately presented property. Tucked away on the outskirts of the town centre, the off road parking allows you to pretty much leave your car and take the scenic walk along the canal into town. Supermarkets and the railway station are equally just a 5 -10 min stroll away. Sykes- you need to add this info to the property description! Andy and Silva were lovely hosts, very helpful, and very approachable. They have clearly given a lot of thought to this property through the quality and comfort of the facilities it provides. One piece of feedback- not crtisism- the lounge needs a couple of lamps, for evenings spent reading etc , the existing lamp a bit inefficient. Thank-you for a lovely stay - I wish it could have been longer- I will be back!

Fabulous property which has been newly refurbished.

The bed is comfy and the kitchen has everything you need should you want to cook. Cannot fault anything and will definitely be rebooking.

This cottage is perfectly located right in the centre of Skipton.

There is lots to see from the window from canal boat movements and the hills in the distance. The place has recently been professionally modernisation and is all brand new. Comfy bed, lovely powerful shower, big kitchen, and lovely lounge. Home from home. Don't forget your slippers!
