The Loft

I can't tell you how happy and contented I felt during my one week stay at The Loft.

The owners had thought of everything and I was so comfortable. The bed was one of the best beds that I have ever slept in, the shower was perfect and everything was as clean as a whistle. Such a lovely area too and very convenient for York and Harrogate. It was a week to recharge my batteries and it really fitted the bill. A perfect sanctuary.

A lovely comfortable first floor accommodation in a secure rear garden.

Gave us a good base for trips out into the Vale of York. Great cycling(not too many hills!) Lots of nice pubs within 5 miles for tasty teas. Grantham Arms top of list.

Lovely little loft, cosy and comfortable.

Good shower and plenty of towels. Hosts were great! Lovely 20 min walk to local pub. Beautiful countryside and easy access to, for example, National Trust properties.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Loft.

The accomodation was spotless and comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed. Had the best sleeps while we were there as so peaceful and dark, and the bed was big and comfy. Dave and Shirley were warm and friendly and made us feel really welcome (thank you again for the welcome pack) and walking into a warm cosy space with a vase of spring flowers was perfect. The area is lovely, with a vineyard down the road and all the glorious nature of Yorkshire and the moors all around. 20 mins to York. We loved staying in this little oasis and would definitely stay again next time we are up. Thank you so much.

My husband and i stayed here for two nights in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It was very peaceful and relaxing, only hearing the birds outside and looking at the stars. The Loft was clean and to a high standard and the little extras when we arrived, were a very lovely touch. Shirley and her husband were very accommodating and helpful. We will be returning and highly reccommend.

The property had everything we needed in a quiet location which was convenient for getting out and about on our bikes, York, Ripon, Easingwold and Harrogate all being within easy reach.

The loft is in an ideal location for visiting York, Harrogate and all surrounding towns. Shirley and David were very helpful and recommended some nice local places to visit such as the vineyard 1 mile down the road. We would love to visit again.

The loft is a really nice holiday cottage with everything you need.

All the equipment and bedding are almost new. It is upstairs so not for anyone with mobility issues but we had a really good holiday there. It's about a 10 minute drive from Hammerton station that has easy parking and trains to York and Leeds which we used a lot.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Loft from 5 June for seven nights - well worth the long haul from the south coast.

Perfect for a couple to explore all those Yorkshire niceties of the York/Harrogate area, and a day trip to the wonderful Dales is not out of the way. A lovely, comfortable and cosy accommodation well kept by the very nice and thoughtful owners - we will certainly return when we need our next "Yorkshire fix".

Enjoyed my stay in this tranquil comfortable place.

It was nice to hear the birds first thing on a morning and see the beautiful countryside, especially when it snowed. Would definitely recommend and the hosts were very nice and super helpful asking if I needed anything else and asking if I was warm enough. Also it was nice to have a bottle of wine on check in and plenty of coffee biscuits cereal etc and some nice tulips in a pretty vase. I didn’t want to leave!

The Loft is fully equipped and comfortable.

Good distance to York city centre, there is many shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

What can we say, everything was perfect for us and the owners were so kind, warm and welcoming.

Everywhere was so clean. Everything was thought of with welcome cereals, a pint of milk, tea, coffee and even a bottle of wine and loaf of bread with jam and marmalade oh yes, and biscuits. The owners were very friendly, a real pleasurable stay. Would highly recommend The Loft.

Friendly owners who welcomed us as we arrived . We loved the fair trade items provided for us as we arrived . We have already recommended to our friends . It was spotless and provided everything we needed . Lovely hot water from the shower and taps . We will definitely use this holiday property again without a hesitation . Thank you .

We spent a wonderful few days in The Loft.

The friendly owners live next door, so they’re on call should you have any problems ( which we didn’t). The Loft was immaculately clean and beautifully furnished. Lots of books and c.d.’s to look at and a very nice and thoughtful welcome pack to greet you on arrival. Great V.F.M.

The owners had kindly left wine, flowers and some groceries for us, which we felt was a very thoughtful gesture.

The Loft had everything we needed and we had a very comfortable stay. I just wish we could have stayed longer, but we hope to book there again. The location was excellent, being very quiet and peaceful but with easy access to York and other places of interest.

We have just returned home from a very pleasant and comfortable stay at The Loft, Dave and Shirley could not be more welcoming or helpful it is in a lovely location to visit Harrogate Ripon or Leeds.

The owners are super friendly and helpful, the whole place is nicely decorated. A short drive into York town centre which has all the facilities to suit everyone needs. Will definitely book again to stay.

We were greeted by the nice owners, they made sure we were happy. The property was out of the way but easy to get to and from.Parking was gated and off road.

We had a lovely time at the loft we was greeted by our host when we arrived such a lovely couple the loft was spacious and had everything we needed for our four night stay the bed was very comfortable and the room was so warm also the the host leave you complimentary gifts lovely touch also you had all you needed microwave hob tv with lots of added channels it’s a lovely place to stay situated in the middle of all your needs with York and Harrogate on your doorstep we would recommend this property we will definitely be returning

We really appreciated the welcome basket with bits for breakfast and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The little bowl of fresh cherry tomatoes left at the door was a grand surprise. The room was spacious and we loved the birds singing in the morning. If you want a lovely spot in the country this is perfect. For our purposes, it was a bit too far from the areas we wanted to explore.

Superb location for walking, the Loft is exactly as advertised.

Owners Dave and Shirley were excellent hosts and provided an extensive welcome pack. The WiFi was fast and the compact kitchen area met our needs. Took our own BBQ for use each evening in our secluded patio area. Highly recommended.

This apartment is exactly as advertised.

The hosts are next door and very friendly and happy to help. The bed is comfortable with good quality cotton sheets and the location is very peaceful. The heating is yours to control and the apartment is very snug. The kitchen area is small but you have all you need to make most things. There is limitless hot water and a lovely shower. There are sloped ceilings but we are both tall and it wasn't a problem. Great location for exploring beautiful Yorkshire.

A superb studio apartment, highly recommended!

The WiFi didn't work for the majority of the week and as the television relied on it there was also no TV

Dave and Shirley very nice. The loft was central to all amenities with just a short travel to nearby towns. Will definitely stay the again.

Delightful accommodation in a peaceful North Yorkshire village but less than 10 mins drive to shops and takeaways, easy 30 mins from York.

Very comfortable bed and full kitchen facilities, well-appointed bathroom with large shower was spotless. Private patio area with table and chairs for eating outside, plenty of space for parking in pretty garden. Friendly welcome and everything else made for a relaxing and memorable 4-day stay

It was amazing that a loft space could provide such a well planned bed sit giving comfort, with all that was required and yet still seem spacious.

The owners were most helpful and yet unobtrusive. We enjoyed the quite of the hamlet and will be considering returning again if accommodation available.

The welcome pack was perfect - bread, milk biscuits, cereal etc & a lovely bottle of wine was an added bonus.

Dave & Shirley were very helpful & courteous. The property was extremely clean & the bed was mega comfy. Cooking facilities & utensils were more than adequate. A fantastic area for walkers, & cyclists like myself, with the added advantage of a massive lockup garage to securely leave my e-bike. Mostly open to my expectations. The only downside for me was the WiFi was very poor, although I believe it is in the process of being improved by the Service Provider. I would definitely stay here again as long as the Internet was more stable.

Spotlessly clean premises, with everything that you would need.

Set in peaceful and tranquil location but close enough to amenities. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio each day. A really great place to stay with welcoming hosts.

We had a really good time staying at the Loft.

Very warm welcome; stylish studio/appartement with a very comfortable bed. On arrival, we found a bottle of white wine and milk in the fridge; and also some good quality tea and coffee/cereal and biscuits, which is a lovely touch. The owners were very accommodating. We brought our caravan, which we could park in the grounds and we could put our bikes in their garage. There is a washing machine and dryer which we used. Altogether a perfect stay for us. The area is great for cycling and there is a nearby pub.

The place was lovely and it was so quiet and peaceful but you were able to get out and visit other places all in all a great week and would recommend the Loft to family and friends.

Nice little place and a lovely location.

Fairly expensive for the space that you got but as one of the cheaper cottages, perhaps this is the going rate! However it was very clean, clearly well looked after and had lots of cleaning stuff available in the current situation, and some really nice touches left by the owners which were really appreciated and above and beyond. Owners were lovely when said hello. Bathroom was decent although if we were taller we might have struggled with the shower with the sloping roof - my husband only just fit at 5'10". Kitchen was well equipped despite no oven. TV had decent amount of channels and WiFi worked. Lots of towels etc. Would be good to have instructions on what to do with the keys when leaving as we weren't sure. Overall a very pleasant stay and enjoyed good food in Boroughbridge.

Perfect for our needs.

Comfortable and cosy. Beautifully furnished and colour coordinated. Attention to detail with Welcome Pack and much appreciated the flowers, wine, milk and cereals etc.

The Loft is a high quality conversion, well equipped for a short stay for two people.

We largely enjoyed the surrounding countryside and visited several nearby towns and villages. Unfortunately, the bed, which on first appearance looks quite innocuous, was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever encountered. Neither my wife or I were able to get a good night's sleep in all three nights. In fact, it was so bad that on the third night, we got up at 3.30am and were ready to leave by about 4.30am. This is not what we had planned, had we been sleeping comfortably. All in all, this was not ideal for what we had hoped would be a relaxing short vacation.

Amazingly beautiful property.

Would highly recommend to anyone. Quiet and peaceful, well maintained.

The owners should advertise the iron and ironing board and fan as these could sway potential renters.

The addition of a hair drier would make the facilities 100%. The current nice little touches and thoughtfulness makes the property a little gem.

The loft is such delightful holiday accommodation.

...its bright clean and yet cosy feel starts your holiday off immediately! It is in a beautiful area of Yorkshire and with a bottle of wine to greet you from your hosts....what more can you want! A lovely holiday was had!

A lovely studio apartment, very clean and very comfy.

The secure storage for our bicycles was ideal and easy for us to access.

This cottage is located in a lovely quiet village and has secure parking.

its location offers easy access to the M1 and all towns and cities in the area including York. The owners Dave and Shirly are very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The facilities were first class very comfortable with everything at hand. We will certainly return in the future.

Lovely accommodation in a really nice area.

The annexe was clean, tidy, and spacious. Hosts kindly supplied some little treats for the stay, it was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome.

For us it was a port in a storm.

We were moving house and needed to sleep away from the chaos of the packing boxes. The owner welcomed us and the wine and breakfast pack were a blessing. An ideal place for us given our circumstances.
