  • "We paid 1300, to stay in a property that was poorly cleaned."

It had no contact details for the landlord, no information on how to work the temperature gauge which you needed a PIN code for. The property smelled, due to the poor management of how rubbish is discarded, as a result there were flies everywhere in the property. The decking was not clean, nor were the windows. The bath needed rescaling! On arrival, cups hadn’t been cleaned and still had juice in. It just was not good enough! We have paid less for better managed properties. Honestly I’d just avoid this property as the complaint service is also shocking from Sykes, no doubt they will attempt to take this down. My brother has complained a week ago and still hasn’t heard back from Sykes. Other than the stay itself, my children enjoyed Greenwood forest, Gypsie wood and fishing in Beaumaris.

  • "We expected some noise, but it was so noisy on the Saturday night that we struggled to sleep, Bring ear plugs."

Thank you for your feedback Andrew, we do try to be clear in our description of the property that it is situated in a busy town centre & noise it to be expected on a Friday evening, usually Saturdays are relatively. The back two bedrooms are facing away from any noise. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Caernarfon & made some lovely memories. Thank you Amanda & James Property Owner

  • "We had no complaints."

The property was clean and well equipped. There was npise from the nearby pubs at letting out time, but we were warned to expect this and it is the price you pay for a central location. I would suggest looking into secondary glazing to the two front bedrooms to mitigate this. Those in the back bedrooms were not disturbed by the noise so it shouldn't be too difficult or expensive to lessen the impact on the front rooms.

Thank you for your feedback Stephen, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes the property is situated right in the centre of town, noise is to be expected usually on Friday evening. We found the rest of the week & weekend to be fine. I hope it didn't disturb you to much & you enjoyed all that Caernarfon and the surrounding area has to offer. Take care, Amanda & James Property Owner

  • "Thank you! You have a lovely place and the community of Caernarfon is very kind and friendly."

A couple of suggestions - banister on the stairs would be helpful! Hooks in the bathroom for Towels / Clothes. Thank you!

  • "Overall the stay we had was good and the house has been decorated nicely, however, could do with a little updating in certain places and it’s overrun with very strong air fresheners which taint the smell of the crockery."

The weekend we stayed was over bank holiday weekend. Whilst the listing mentioned that there would be some noise from a bar, I think it’s important to mention that ear plugs did NOT cover this noise and 2 of the rooms at the front of the house were lit up like a disco because of the nightclub which opened until 2am. Out of the 7 nights we stayed here we only got a decent nights sleep for 3 of those. Caernarfon is a lovely place which is central to a lot of other areas with a wealth of activities. The owners had also provided a welcome hamper which was thoughtful, although lacking ear plugs (thankfully I had brought my own) I don’t think I could stay here again because of the noise from the bars and nightclub which is a real shame as the house itself is lovely & the views are nice onto the harbour. If you’re a person who likes the nightlife and enjoys going clubbing, this is the place for you :)

Hello Chloe, thank your for your feedback, I hope you enjoyed the sights & places to see that Caernarfon has to offer. I do apologise about the noise from the area, we are situated quite literally in the middle of a busy town centre, I do try and be really clear about this within the property description. It is completely hit & miss if the town will be busy/noisy from week to week. We've had months of weekends in a row where there has been no noise whatsoever. I am sorry it wasn't this case for your stay :( We have had some beautiful feedback about the property, we ourselves absolutely love staying here & always have a brilliant time. I have passed on the information you have left to our cleaning team, regarding lack or ear plugs, and the outside recycling area. I hope you had a safe journey home & made some lovely memories with your family during your visit. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay in Caernarfon."

We met the owners of the property on the day of our arrival as they were there to finish some maintenance of the property. They did inform us beforehand, the owners were brilliant, we took the opportunity to ask about the area & suggestion of things to do while we there. We did try the RibRide tour they suggested & we loved it, the tour guide was very informative & had us in stitches throughout. We boarded a short drive away at St George’s Pier, Menai Bridge, would definitely recommend. We also ate at the Black Boy Pub that they suggested, that was lovely, big protions to. Caernarfon is such a beautiful lively town & was a great base point for our days out, we went to Anglesey, Newborough forest/beach (dog friendly) & Church Island during our stay, all worth a visit. The holiday home was very nicely decorated & lots of little touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The beds were especially comfortable which we needed after our long days out exploring. All in all a lovely short break, fabulous home, lovely owners & we will be back! ☆☆☆☆☆

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review Property Owner

  • "I arrived the holiday home and stepped into a seemingly clean house."

It wasn’t clean, the smells were just masked with air freshers in every corner and cabinet. If it’s clean you really don’t need that much air freshener, it’s almost a health hazard. NO WASHING MACHINE should be highlighted in the information concerning the holiday home please. The hostess didn’t seem warm or welcoming when I called asking if there was a washing machine anywhere in the home. However it’s located in a nice place.

We had a nightmare with this particular booking & we actually had to ask you to leave the property as so much damage had been done during your stay. The property doesn't have a washing machine and never has been listed as having one. I did try to explain when you called it was a Saturday evening & i was at a family 50th party and struggled to hear you. You had the thermostat on at 38° morning, noon & night. The next door neighbours complained to us about noise. For us personally it has been the worse experience we've had so far in letting out the property. Upon inspection there is a list of things for us to repaint & refurbish after your stay, non of which you made us aware of while you were there. We are aware there is problem with the back 2 cupboards on the back wall of the kitchen & works are being carried out this coming weekend to rectify it. Property Owner

  • "Absolutley beautiful house and you can tell the owners have put a lot of love into the presentation."

Each room is tastefully themed – so its feels like it has real seaside character but it’s done in a way that it feels like a proper home-from-home. It is a three-storey property and the rooms are very spacious. So if you have a large family, or if groups are travelling together, there is loads of space to spread out and relax. The ground floor has an open-plan living and dining area. Absolutley loads of space and facilities to cook a full family dinner, and the kitchen is well kitted out (it even has a filter coffee machine!) The first floor has two bedrooms and the main bathroom. There is also an outside terrace area on this floor which we absolutley loved. Its such a lovely and unexpected addition to have an outside space in a central town house, and it was beautifully decorated with fairy lights and plants. A lovely place to sit and have a drink in the evening (of which we had many). The top floor has two more bedrooms, also beautifully decorated. The main bedroom has pretty view over the harbour too, and there’s lots of storage space for your clothes and toiletries. The location is smack bang in the centre. There is a Spar just a couple of doors away, and an Italian restaurant a couple of doors in the opposite direction. The restaurant is owned by some lovely people, and they were really accommodating with our dietary requirements and our early booking. There is a bar opposite the house, and I noticed that the owners had mentioned there might be some noise. We didn’t hear anything during our stay, but there are earplugs left in all the bedrooms in case that was a problem for some. We did have a minor issue in not being able to get the heating to work properly when we first arrived. It’s been really cold the last few weeks so the house was chilly when we arrived. We tried the thermostat but nothing seemed to be happening, so I contacted the owners (their numbers are in the welcome book) who were super helpful and managed to get the thermostat working again in half an hour. Once it was back up and running the house was toasty REALLY quickly!! All in all, we had such a nice stay. The town is chilled and quiet (we did visit in the winter) and very pretty. There are lots of little shops and dog-friendly pubs. The castle is literally minutes away too, and when lit up in the evening looks really impressive. Will defo be back!!

  • "The house has been done really nicely but is let down by the lack of welcome hamper that was promised and smells."

There was a bara brith to welcome us which was lovely but no tea, milk or bread. Also ear plugs promised in hamper to help with Saturday night noise from night club but were not present. Coffee machine had old coffee still left in filter that was mouldy. Cupboards smelt really musty and we had to wash all the crockery before we used it as it smelt so bad. The house is in a great location but needs more TLC to make it a welcoming place to stay

Hello Pierre, I am sorry that some parts of the holiday home were not upto expectations. We take the cleanliness of our property very seriously as we want our guests to have a relaxing stay & leave with great memories. I have raised the issues you have stated above with our cleaning provider. We have used the same person since we started back in April & have had only one issue raised in 7 months previous to this. I do apologise & I hope it didn't spoil your stay. Please be assured my husband and I are taking this very seriously. We absolutely love this house & we want to provide an excellent quality for all who stay. I have purchased a new hoover today & I will be there over the next few day's to give everything a full check over for future guests. Thank you for your feedback Amanda & James Property Owner

  • "The property was in an excellent location."

It was well furnished, and the 2 double bedrooms were lovely and spacious. However on entering the property there was an awful smell of 'dog'. The work surfaces were dirty and we had to buy some products to freshen the place up. We even found a dinner plate in the cupboard that had just been put back there after someone had eaten off it. Obviously nothing is checked. Bins were also un emptied and full of rubbish. We used the vacuum cleaner during our stay, that was also un emptied and found this to be blowing out the doggy smell. We still had a lovely time, but I think some focus needs to be put on whoever is supposed to be cleaning the property after each visit.

Hello Dave, I apologise in the delay of my response, I have been investigating the cleaning situation and wanted to have information before I replied back to you. I am sorry that some parts of the holiday home didn't meet expectations please be assured we are taking this seriously & we have made changes. Our cleaning provider has been sent this review & is fully aware of all of the issues you have stated above. We are a pet friendly property, unfortunately I think guests may have been allowing pets onto the furnishings. I have purchased more blankets, in hope they will be used & I have just bought a new hoover. I appreciate the feed back & again I really do apologise, it's extremely upsetting to receive negative reviews, but we will take this on-board & we will rectify the problems raised. • "The property was lovely and clean."

The decor was fantastic. We dropped the key on the first day (it wasn’t dramatic!) and the plastic cover snapped. There weren’t any dishwasher tablets but washing machine tablets under the sink instead. I would suggest little bins in the bedrooms. The little balcony could have had a clean before arrival. Overall a very good property in a central location. We visited the castle, Anglesey sea zoo, model village, the gelert explorer steam train. We also had food in villa marina that was fantastic!

It’s easy to talk to home owner if you need any help as well. We stayed at the property for two nights but next time can stay there for longer. Beautiful place in the middle of the town. Shops and bars are near by. Very comfortable sea facing property. 5 star from us.
