  • "The main house is fine and quite comfortable, if a little dated."

Kitchen a little small, but serviceable. Issue with annex, quite damp feeling and mouldy areas in bathroom. Location brilliant!

  • "FANTASTIC Location firstly."

Just a minute walk to beach, great cafe and pub with coastal views. Having the off street parking is also awesome. The property is spacious (there was 2 adults and 3 children), all you need inside the property and large balcony with views down to the beach. Would highly recommend.

  • "Beautiful location and we all had a lovely holiday, but I have to be honest; the main house is looking very tired."

Bathrooms need updating, curtains look so old and could be replaced with blinds, the sofa and cushions also look tired.

  • "We loved the property - great location and well equipped property."

We had one small issue with a water leak which the house keeper resolved for us promptly. We’d definitely come back.

  • "Having recently returned from a wonderful week staying at Tides Reach I will try to make this review as positive as I can, but there are a few negatives."

This was our 3rd stay in the property but was the 1st time we had use of the studio which is beautiful , well furnished and co-ordinated. Unfortunately the main house is sadly letting the property down. Whilst we can see after previous visits, the problems with the windows and radiators have been addressed, the furnishings and decor could benefit from an update/refurb. It seems each time we visit another random item ( chair, cushions, throws etc) appears, resulting in a mish-mash of unco-ordinating furnishings. The ‘ orange’ woodwork and garish tablecloth still evident from our first ever visit in 2019, dulling the great potential this property has. Tides Reach saving grace is its amazing location and the beautiful balcony. Trebarwith Strand has become our annual Cornwall ‘fix’ and Tides Reach is very special to us, but the property is now very tired. The main bathroom and kitchen would both benefit from an update. The clothing/hanging units in the bedrooms still sport the random assortment of plastic, wood and wire?? hangers that have been in situ since our first visit 4 years ago….a small thing admittedly, but it just contributes to the overall feeling of not being cared about. A few sets of IKEA hangers will not break the bank! Can I politely suggest the owners view other properties in Trebarwith Strand and take some ideas of how they have been furnished/decorated. The rental price is in line with other properties in the area, but for money, myself and others in my group, whilst not expecting luxury, do expect a higher standard for that price. During our stay (20th-27th May) we had to report a problem with the wet room shower. The water was constantly running boiling hot and not controllable making it unviable for use. We appreciate these things happen but would also expect them to be sorted out in a timely manner. A plumber did arrive the following evening, took a look and said he would be back with a part. As far as we were aware he didn’t return as the shower was still faulty at the end of our stay. Interestingly, this problem had been previously reported by other guests prior to our visit and the owners replied that the issues had been fully resolved . Clearly that wasn’t the case. Obviously it didn’t spoil our holiday as there were other showers but as a group of multi family guests it was inconvenient, and I’m sure I don’t need to say how potentially harmful it could have been. I also reported the kitchen ceiling light bulb stopped working the day before our departure so hopefully that has been fixed ready for the next guests . On the plus side the welcome pack of milk , t-bags, biscuits, coffee and sugar was much appreciated and as I stated at the beginning of this review we did have a wonderful week…the sun shone every day!!

  • "Unfortunately our stay in Tides Reach was not as nice as hoped."

We arrived to a property that clearly hadn't had windows open for quite some time. Cupboards were full of previous visitors food (even though it is supposed to be removed) Cobwebs on furniture and just a general feeling of the property being very tired and not clean. The family shower head would not stay up and the wet-room shower made a high pitch squealing noise whenever used. It was 'repaired' whilst we were there but then had an issue with the thermostat and would only put out boiling water. These were all reported. Left with a general feeling of disappointment. We visit the Strand every year but have no plans to return to this property until a refresh/refurb has been complete. For the money that is charged I would hope for better furnishings and space.

Thank you for your feedback. First of all can we apologise over the issues you exerienced with the shower during your stay. The issues have now been fully resolved. We have taken your other comments on board, and will make sure none of these issues occur again. Property Owner
