  • "WOW, what a great secluded site away from noisy traffic etc."

Just birds and owls best relaxing site ever. Nearest shop and butchers and bar was 3 miles, again very welcoming. Stonerush lakes is the ideal place to unwind, kick off get into hot tub and leave the rest of the world to fend for itself. Great Wi-Fi and Smart tv. The staff, well I can only say that they are part of our family, Amanda and Charles bar and restaurant, Ella, Laura, Gemma, Kelly and David were great nothing was an issue, not that we had any, just brilliant. Even got to meet the boss Sylvano he and our Maltipoo Tilly got on really great. Book a lodge at this site, we will visit again in April and want Millers lodge no2 looking onto the lake and nature at its best.

  • "Almost perfect Lodge, first walked and looked sround gave us the wow factor, nice very small little touch thst made a big difference afterca long journey was a small bottle of milk in fridge, we both liked that."

2 small details that reduced down the score a panel under the fridge was loose, and when went to bed, there was a big lump on the matress, foam topper had scrunched up, could not flatten it so turned mattress over and there was hair on thst side, and couple of stains on the sheets, not very impressive. Apart from those 2 unimpressive groans the lodge was amazing, well secluded, hottub was well maintained, area was very peaceful and tranquil, very relaxing stay for the both of us and the dog never seen her so relaxed and chilled, she looked upset than us when we left.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am so pleased that you had a lovely time. Next time please let our team at Stonerush Lakes know and we will send Housekeeping in to sort that for you. So happy to hear you left feeling relaxed and happy and that your dog had a lovely stay too! Kind regards, Charteroak Guest Services Property Owner

  • "Lovely break at Streamside 1."

Great sized hot tub for four. Comfy beds and sofas. Clean. Great Outlook from decking and stream so relaxing. Could do with more knives, forks, spoons etc to fill dishwasher so water not wasted. Heating working well so lovely and warm on frosty mornings. All in all a great holiday and have stayed manyvtimes and would definitely choose Streamside 1 next time. Thanks to Laura and Ella for your help. Steve Bailes

  • "The property was lovely."

Clean, comfortable & spacious. Extra crockery & cutlery would be a bonus as the dishwasher is full size. It had to be run half empty or you just do the washing up yourself. The kitchen has basic equipment. When we were there it was very quiet, all you could hear were the birds & the stream. The site is quite spectacular & very well maintained. The slight downside was that the advertised photos showed the stream, but in reality it was so overgrown that you couldn't see it & the brambles were starting to come up the sides & through the floor of the verandah. We were informed that the lodge had a lovely 180 degree view! The only view we had were trees surrounding the lodge. We did not mind the total privacy too much, but others may not like having nothing to see from any window. The hot tub would benefit from a cleaning net, to scoop out the flies & leaves that land in it while in use. Also a cleaning cloth/sponge to remove scum lines after each use. All in all, it is a lovely place to stay & relax in super surroundings. 1 Streamside was tip top & we didn't want to come home & certainly would return. Highly recommended for that much needed break.

Dear Trudy, Thank you so much for your feedback. We have your passed points on. We are so happy you loved the lodge and didn't want to leave. We hope you will visit again soon! Kind regards, Gemma - Charteroak Guest Services. Property Owner

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
