"Comfortable, clean and well-appointed cottage set in beautiful rural Dorset with lots of walks suitable for dogs lose by."
-
"A delightful cottage well appointed, ideal for touring Dorset ."
Dog friendly garden.
-
"This is our second visit to this lovely cottage."
You feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. Comfortable with everything you might need. Our dog loves lying in the garden in the sun. Great for a relaxing break and central to places of interest. We will definately be back.
-
"Pippins is compact and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay (two adults and a dog)."
Although it's close to the railway and main road, we heard nothing from the former and only distant traffic from the latter. Being close to Dorchester, the location works well for most of Dorset. There's an interesting Emporium only a mile or two south on the A37 for those who like browsing vintage and antique items. Thanks to our hosts for the Sicilian lemonade and Moores Dorset Ginger Biscuits.

"This was our second time staying here."
We find it very clean and comfortable. It’s a really good location for exploring. Although there is a train at the back of property, there is no noise from it. We would like to stay again!
-
"The cottage is very comfortable and beautifully decorated."
Everything is provided to make your holiday a nice relaxing break. Nice comfy beds.
-
"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Pippins, great location ."
....Lovely cottage, everything you could need. Very clean, comfortable and cosy. Biscuits, orange drink and card left on table was a nice welcoming touch. Our two dogs enjoyed the enclosed garden. Would definitely recommend. Dorset is beautiful county Lesley and Alan Yates

"Cottage was comfy and as described."
Plumbing was a bit temperamental but it worked. Facilities good and clean. Railway line hardly noticeable. Parking tight for our Skoda estate car, it wouldn't fit anything larger. We were disappointed that there were no nearby public footpaths except one which was inaccessible due to cattle. Lots of great dog walks a car ride away though. A good spot for exploring central Dorset, a little bit too far from the coast if that's your thing.
-
"This is a very well equipped property that is comfortable and cosy."
The garden is nice to sit out in and my dog loved it. if you are looking for a peaceful break then it is ideal. I suggest you source where the closest shop/convenience store is for top ups. You hardly hear the trains although there is some noise from the A37. We will definitely be looking to return in the future.
-
"The perfect county cottage, with everything you would need and more."
Loved all of the small touches. The garden is beautiful and safe. Cannot recommend this enough. Train! What train? Never heard it. Very clean. New decor - do update the pics as it is better than the ones listed. WIFI WIFI very good. If you want a quiet well kept and homely stay that is ideally situated to visit a lot of the sites, this is the perfect place.
-
"Very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed."
Location is nice and central for exploring. Lovely garden. Train at bottom of garden but you don’t really notice it, as only about every half hour and not loud. Furnishings and carpet seemed brand new. A most enjoyable stay!

"We had a lovely week at Pippins 17-24th June."
The cottage is lovely, it had everything we needed and the garden is absolutely beautiful. Can recommend the bakery in Evershot for fresh rolls for breakfast bacon sarnies. I echo a previous reviewer who recommended updating the photos on the website as the cottage has had a really lovely makeover. Our dogs absolutely loved a daily walk at Lankham Bottom (about a 6 min drive down the A37 towards Dorchester). We’d love to stay again - thank you :)

"Very good stay."
Nice property and area. Lovely enclosed garden which our 2 goldies enjoyed exploring.
-
"Had a wonderful week."
The cottage was lovely and homely. Very quiet and enjoyed sitting in the garden. Beautifully clean. Looking forward to staying there again. Website pictures doesn't do it justice.

"Certainly could do with some better knives, they were blunt and spun round when trying to use because of round handle."
Cutting/chopping board would help. Washing up sponge and cloth could do with being better quality. Property clean and tidy and nicely decorated. I have always got this thing about low back seating, I prefer high back for comfort.

"Nice cottage has new furniture in room"

"This is the second time we have stayed here."
It is a comfortable and cosy house. Ideally suited for a couple with one child. It is in a quiet setting, and ideally suited if you want to travel around.
-
"Lovely, cosy cottage."
Photos on Sykes do not do it justice. You have obviously made improvements, with new furnishings, curtains etc. Great location for exploring Dorset. Had everything we needed. Never heard the train! Had a lovely cream/cheese scone lunch in Caerne Abbas and great evening meal at The Giant Inn. Great atmosphere, a true local, not many left. Lyme Regis and Weymouth always worth a visit, as is Brownscombe - Had a lovely meal at The Sea Shanty.
Thank you for your kind words. We were so glad that you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

"Lovely cottage, Very cosy."
We went in the August heatwave and the cottage was nice and cool. Very well presented and nice and quiet area. Don't worry about the train line behind the cottage as we couldn't hear it. Lovely big garden. Comfy beds. Highly recommended. 20 miles from Weymouth but it doesn't take long to travel there as the main roads are direct and easy to navigate

"The Property is not called Pippins."
It is 2 Bridge Cottages which is totally confusing on arrival. Please put a sign up saying 'Pippins'. Nor is it the third cottage. It is the second. Other than those comments it was a very comfortable stay in a very well equipped cottage.
-
"Had problem finding washing up bits, so contacted the owner who helped: the bits were behind a door which looked fixed but was in fact hinged."
The train noise was not a problem but the traffic on the A37 could be heard if the windows were opened. There are no short walks nearby so a minimum of about 4 miles for a loop.
-
"A lovely cottage."
It was far enough away to feel like you were in the middle of nowhere but so easy to get on to the main road to explore the local area. The cottage itself was super cute and quaint, the facilities were everything that was needed with great Wi-Fi.
-
"CENSOR LIGHTING TO FRONT OF PROPERTY WHEN RETURNING LATE FROM DAY OUT."
BETTER FITTED TOILET SEAT. REAR GARDEN LIGHT. A TUMBLE DRIER WOULD BE USEFUL AT THIS TIME OF YEAR. SOFA DIFFICULT TO GET UP FROM. MORE INFO ON THE ATTRACTIONS, AND PUBS IN AREA. BUT WE DID ENJOY STAY AT PIPPINS COTTAGE. PEACEFUL, WARM, A DELIGHT.
-
"We totally enjoyed our stay at Pippins, it's a lovely cottage with charm and character, situated in a beautiful location within driving distance to Towns and attractions and the number of beaches."
The rear garden was ideal for dogs, enclosed with a long grassed area and beautifully landscaped with a suntrap patio area. The cottage was clean and comfortable and from our experience offered great wi-fi coverage and the facilities to make our stay extremely enjoyable. We will definitely be returning in the future!!
-
"Need to update some info as there was a microwave which meant I brought different food."
Also some new good sized mugs would be nice, I ended up using Costa coffee cups. The 4 mugs supplied were not good. Cottage was ideal for my trips out.
-
"The cottage does not have wifi, which was a nuisance as I had wanted to use it to find details of places to visit, etc and to receive emails."
It was not the ideal house for two ladies in their eighties, mostly because of the rather awkward stairs but otherwise it was great. We particularly enjoyed the garden which was quiet and secluded.
-
"Really clean and neat little cottage, beds really comfortable… very peaceful location , would recommend ."
-
"Would have been good to have WiFi and a dishwasher would have been useful."
The fences in the garden were a bit low our labs could have jumped over them. Most of the facilities were very good for such a small cottage. Not too good if the weather is bad as there weren’t many books or games and the tv channels were limited. Cosy lounge we found the heating to be good and the bed comfortable. Parking was a bit cramped but ok. Enjoyed the break .

"Lovely stay at Pippins."
Arrived to a lovely clean cosy cottage in beautiful countryside. Lovely comfortable beds which is always a bonus. Lovely and quiet to sleep too. Many thanks for a lovely stay. Easy to book on the website.

"We won’t be going back."
It was poorly appointed, ancient TV, shower was a joke, kitchen tatty, poor lighting. Steps down to property too narrow for ordinary use. No WiFi isn’t acceptable either.
-
"Really enjoyed the cottage, nice and clean."
The only drawback would be no wifi, other than that a thumbs up from us!
-
"We stayed at Pippins cottage it was very clean and comfortable the only thing was we had problem with the heaters in the bedrooms they kept switching off so we used the fan heater."
The shower also did not run hot. Overall that cottage was brilliant and we had a very enjoyable holiday
-
"Evrything we could have needed was supplied."
However it would have been advisable to state the front doot is a yale lock and to empasise the need to leave a key in the keysafe before aerriving as we were locked out . fortunately key was avilable with a neighbour

"Little bit of a fun house effect with uneven floor upstairs but once used to it, you won’t notice it!"
.... lovely clean cottage with charming garden for outdoor living too!... parking can be tricky with cars on opposite side of lane but only if you want to reverse in!... highly recommended as a central place to stay and clean, charming and quiet!, perfect!
-
"Lovely cottage, very clean."
The only thing which would have been nice was wi fi
-
"Cottage was lovely."
Nice touch was the welcome pack of juice and biscuits. Only downside was fridge was under the stairs and there was no light in there so had to use the torch provided to find anything as it was so dark, the other was there was absolutely no where in the bathroom to put toiletries, we had to put things into the bath. Otherwise perfect . Would definitely go there again and use Sykes
-
"Appreciate that the cottage is an old property but when you have to empty a dehumidifier twice a day and the place smells damp and the sofa in the lounge feels damp and smells of wet dog, it's not what you really want."
Shower in bathroom was impossible to use as you basically had to climb over the toilet to enter! Just as well there was a bath. The location was good and there was no disturbance from the trains passing at all. Would not book this cottage again.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay at Pippins ."
We found the cottage delightful , charming and very comfortable . We particularly enjoyed the garden which is south facing , lovely and peaceful in a very quiet area. We had a great view of the lunar eclipse ! We would recommend if you like peace and quiet . We would book again if in this area.
