"We had a lovely stay, a clean, tidy, well equipped traditional cottage with plenty of space and in a perfect place for getting out and about both with and without the car."
We had great weather so were able to enjoy sitting out in the garden in the evenings which was v peaceful with a super view of Blencathra. Although next door to the pub it was not at all noisy plus it does good food and is v welcoming.

It's bigger than the website and photos would suggest and also great there was a downstairs toilet (was that in description? ). We loved our stay and hope to come back again. Thanks!

The charming village of Threlkeld is just to the east of Keswick in the Northern Lakes. The steep sided Blencathra looms over Threlkeld village, a popular starting point for walking the mountain. Threlkeld's history reaches back more than 800 years; the Romans were here from the 3rd to the 8th century, followed later by the Norse. In the village the church dates back to 1578 and there are two pubs that first opened their doors in 1688.Though only a few miles outside Keswick, the village is tranquil and unspoilt with great views of Blencathra and the Helvellyn range.
