"This was a beautiful lodge, very comfortable and well equipped."
Located in a lovely site with great walks around the lake. TV reception was excellent and no problems with any of the tv channels. The new decking was great to sit out on, in the sun. Perfect few days away and we will definitely be back again.
-
"Spotlessly clean, spacious and in a great location on the site, it’s a 5 minute walk from the swimming pool and that is positive as you get very little disturbance from people passing."
Great lodge, we will return!
-
"Walkers rest was all that was described when booking."
Beautiful setting around the lake. If I had to complain about anything it would be the pub although a lovely pub and lovely staff there opening times were hit and miss. All in all a good place to take a break. Bit of noise from m6 but got used to it.
-
"Lovely lodge with everything you need."
Really spacious, set back just from the lake in a quiet part to relax. Would highly recommend.
-
"We are home from a fabulous week at Walkers Rest."
The lodge was fully equipped with everything you would need. It was so comfortable and clean! Would highly recommend and will definitely be looking to book again!

Whilst everything inside was realy great, the same could not be said for the outside, the decking definitely needs replacing along with the wood on the rails they were very loose i felt very unsafe everything time I had to go up or down the stairs
Hi Mark, thank you for your feedback which is helpful. We completely agree with you that the decking needs replacing and we are already in the process of scheduling this. I do hope you’re able to come back when the work has been completed. Property Owner

"Can't fault the lodge, very clean and had everything we needed, but the state of the railings around the decking and steps was scary."
The handrail for the steps was completely rotten and very dangerous with splinters and nails sticking out. The railings round the decking was very fragile, and completely unsafe.

"What a fantastic property!"
So spotless clean, comfy, homely, and great facilities. This property had everything, every utensil, cutlery, crockery, and more than we needed, even down to the potato peeler (which we brought too!) Comfortable beds, ample of space, the 2 bathrooms, comfortable living area, outside space - just perfect! Thank you for the welcome pack too, this went down a treat and a lovely added touch. We WILL be back! Jo

"Had a really relaxing stay and used the property as a base to travel to our daughter's graduation in Lancaster."
The property was very comfortable and well equipped. The only downside was the proximity of the M6 which made it noisy to have the windows open at the back of the property and was busy 24 hours a day it seemed.
-
"Fourth visit - we shall continue going."
-
"The property was lovely, very well maintained had everything we needed, the air fryer was very handy."
We had a lovely holiday at Walkers rest and will definitely be back thank you
-
"This is the third time we have stayed in the property."
It is high spec, very comfortable, spacious with extremely good facilities. The decking has needed attention and the astroturf this year is a big improvement. I suspect a whole new decking is due quite soon as there is some rotten wood. However, this aside, as you see we come back time after time which is a tribute to our appreciation of this very fine property and its facilities. Thank you . Sue & Neil Whitehead & family

"We had a lovely weekend at Walkers Rest!"
The lodge is lovely and well equipped, the leisure park is also so peaceful and perfect for a weekend away. We arrived late on the Friday evening and it was hard to locate the lodge in the dark, it would be handy if a map of of the leisure park was provided with the check in instructions but other than that it was a perfect stay.

"Loved are stay at walkers rest Lovely and clean Nice and quite The site didn’t serve food Monday-Tuesday so had to venture out but that wasn’t a problem as I can drive But the lodge itself was great very homely, central heating great WiFi connection, lovely big bedrooms, lots of space for my 1 year old to explore, lots of cutlery, tea sugar I would recommend and would love to visit again in the near future."
Thanks for a lovely stay Xx

"Another great stay at this cozy Lodge."
This place is just fab! It's literally home from home. This is our second stay at Walkers Rest and we can't wait to go again. There is everything you need and more. The Internet connection is great so no "oh for goodness sake" moments! Also, bowls and blankets are provided for our fur family. The park itself is fab and the people you meet are all so lovely. It's very dog friendly and great for days out. We visited Arnside, it's 15 mins drive away and literally everywhere is dog friendly, such a fab place and great pubs, bakery, chippy, etc. Stop scrolling through and hit the booking button!

"Walkers Rest was very clean and was well equipped."
We found the beds to be very comfortable. Lovely welcome pack was much appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

"Just back from 4 nights, and would commend the owners on how they've put a lot of thought into how theyve stocked the lodge with endless kitchen utensils, high chair in one of the cupboards, and a play pen / folding cot for those with babies."
Score highly for thinking of our beloved 4 legged friends with a basket in the unit as you enter the lodge for dogs with spare blanket, bowls, water bottle and think a couple of toys (not that we used any of it as had taken own dog bowls and blankets etc). A bottle of wine on arrival, handful of tea and coffee and sugar with capsules of milk in the fridge was a nice touch for anyone that had travelled along way to get there. We had only travelled an hr from home to the lodge Will 100% recommend to all HOWEVER think the advert should be amended to mention the proximity of the M6 to the rear (the bedrooms) of the lodge, a couple of bushes and a row of trees on a sound bank and reckon less than 20 metres from the M6. We could hear the traffic and that's in October with the windows obviously closed. So with windows on vent or open in Summer months then you will 1000% hear the M6. The site was pretty empty during our stay (4th-8th Oct). Think the advert also needs to mention the none existent lighting on the site, again probably not an issue in Summer months but it was pitch black when we went. Granted the owners did leave 2 head torches in a basket of leaflets about local attractions BUT still think it should mention the lack of lighting on the site. Also the on site pub restaurant has strange opening hrs, last food ordered/served 15.45 on a Sunday which was a shock. Think the property needs a little bit of TLC as few things not working, but we left a note for the owners and saw that others had done the same in the past. 10000% nicer site than Haven sites we have stayed on and had the major advantage of next to no kids on site. We would still book again and are thinking of doing so for May 2025.

"Spent a lovely few days here."
Cosy and roomy. Perfect for 2 families with a 2 year old and a little dog. All spotless and very clean. Everything thought about and we needed nothing. Would certainly recommend to others.
-
"A lovely clean well equipped lodge."
Great site.
-
"Lovely comfortable and clean lodge , wasn't keen on having to walk to lodge first to get the key it seems a long way for someone who isn't very good on their feet, perhaps the park could have a different system to allow access."
Could have done with 2 keys as there was 2 families staying, again wouldn't have been a problem if there was a different system to lift the barrier cos could have just left key in key safe .
-
"Another door key and barrier fob would have been useful and some extra bathroom towels would have been nice"
-
"What a fantastic lodge everything you needed was on hand for a self-catering holiday."
Comfortable beds,dishwasher,2 bathrooms, each bedroom has a TV. The decking outside let the property down dangerous slippy and in need of some repair furniture is old and rusty. Dog poo at the steps in bags from previous letting. Maybe the cleaner could run the pans and cooking dishes in the dishwasher. The outside decking unfortunately would stop us from staying again

"Walkers rest was a great find."
I went with my mum who was 87. All the facilities supplied were ample for my mum. The lodge was Spotless.. We ate in the restaurant 4 nights. The food was lovely, and staff were very excellent... Nice walks around the site. A short drive to Morecombe where we had our photos took with Eric Morecombe. Lovely day out. I would love to book again in the near future.. Thank you for a fabulous stay..
-
"Nice spacious lodge room for two vehicles well equipped - bit of an issue with a leaking tap contacted the owners who had it fixed promptly so full marks for that."
Overall nice place to stay would use again thanks Allan & Julie

"Had a really enjoyable stay in this lodge as it had pretty much everything you would need, and even our dog felt relaxed!"
Very dog friendly site except for a lack of bins around the park. Lovely welcome pack much appreciated. Highly recommend

Spotless throughout. We can't wait to stay again. And we honestly can't recommend enough!

"Beautiful lodge furnished to a really high standard set in gorgeous surroundings, the owner's have thought of everything to make your stay perfect, which it was , the welcome basket with wine was a lovely touch and very much appreciated, we will definitely be back ."
-
"Was very impressed with the property, lovely and clean, well furnished with everything you need, great location and a lovely touch with the arrival basket."
Would 100% visit again. (Details for car park barrier access might need updating but no big deal). We had a lovely time thank you!
-
"Amazing lodge, provided everything you could wish for and more."
A real home away from home. Lodge was clean as was the site. M6 didn't bother us at all, would recommend and return.
-
"Absolutely loved our week's stay at this beautiful and spacious lodge."
The owner's have thought of everything to make your stay perfect, even blankets and towels for the dog. Also, the welcome basket with wine was a lovely touch. The lodge is situated on a beautiful, well kept site with lots of places to visit nearby. Will definitely be holidaying here again. Highly recommend this lodge.

"This place is a perfect dog friendly getaway!"
! From start to finish we enjoyed every minute. The lodge is very clean, comfortable, well equipped and a great location. The park has traffic barriers so you do have to walk from the entrance where the Waters Edge Restaurant is to the lodge when you arrive to get the key and the fob and walk back again so you can get in but its all of 5 - 10 mins to sort. The owners go above and beyond to make your stay perfect and the welcome pack with all the essentials like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and wine is a fabulous touch. I cooked a full breakfast whilst there and wasn't struggling with anything - plenty cutlery, utensils, plates, cups, etc. Even a dishwasher to do all the washing up for you with a couple of tabs provided by the owners! We ate at the Waters Edge restaurant twice, had better steaks elsewhere and the full English breakfast doesn't come with toast but not the end of the world. Two local pubs - Hawks Head and The Malt Shovel, food was really good, well worth a visit and both dog friendly. The little beach by the Waters Edge is great and a fabulous place to enjoy playing in the sand and the water. The M6 is directly behind the lodge, which honestly didn't bother us day or night - any comments that its noisy and disturbing are certainly not true. I would highly recommend this place and will certainly be booking again.
-
"Beautiful accommodation with lots of space and lovely fixtures and fittings."
The area is beautiful and quiet and was perfect and safe for two adults and two babies . The little welcome basket was so lovely and thoughtful aswell. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Walkers Rest and can certainly recommend it ! Xx
-
"An absolutely delightful property, furnished to a really high standard, catering for our every need, including leaving sofa covers and towels for our furry friends."
It was an extremely spacious lodge with plenty of space for us all - 6 adults a toddler and 2 big dogs! Location 5 mins off M6 means a great base to explore from. On site facilities are great too if you dont want to venture too far! Highly recommend this place we will definitely be back!
-
"Excellent lodge very comfortable and well equipped."
Its a great base for exploring the area. It would have been useful to have had more information about recycling and where the bins were situated. The only reason for not getting a higher score was its situation. It is literally next to the M6 with its accompanying noise. We felt that this should have been indicated in the property information as it would have affected our decision as to whether to stay here or not.
