  • "We can highly recommend this stylish and well appointed lodge."

It is very clean and spacious and situated on a quiet well laid out site. Everything is as seen on Sykes website. Dave, the owner, has paid great attention to detail. There are many extras not found in other lodges. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and gets the holiday off to a great start. The lodge is ideally situated for walks and for visiting places of interest. Runswick Bay is a little gem.

  • "Hi we have stayed on this site before in another lodge,Hideaway lodge was particularly relaxing and nice touch on arrival milk, teabags, biscuits, we also had plenty of towels bath and hand towels , also spotlessly clean, only thing we like which is personnal preference is a bit more privacy in the windows ie blinds or venetian blinds felt it was a bit open in the rooms."

Hence we will deffinately be going back at some point.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Hideaway Lodge. We have taken your comments on board, and following some renovation works we now have encapsulated blinds fitted on the windows to improve the privacy of the lodge. Property Owner

  • "We've had a comfortable restful week at Hideaway."

Everything we needed (apart from handtowels!) was there and we settled in quickly. The beds were comfortable which is so important. It was spacious, clean and warm......no complaints! The gated site was quiet and well kept.....all in all, a lovely place to stay and to come back to after a day of exploring.

  • "We stayed at Hideaway Lodge last summer and had such a great time, we booked it again for this summer."

Last time we received a lovely welcome basket, which was a lovely touch, but there was just tea, coffee and milk this time. Standards have slipped slightly, it wasn’t as clean as it could have been, in particular, the kitchen cupboards were dirty as was the grill pan (there was some tin foil with grease on). Also we requested a high chair and travel cot which had been there last year but wasn’t there on our arrival this time, however one phone call to Sykes and it was sorted and at the lodge within an hour. However, the cot was very dusty and had a broken foot and the high chair needed a good wipe. Despite this we had a lovely week.
