  • "We have just returned from a week staying in a Willow Spa lodge."

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would return, but there were some inaccuracies in the listing that should be addressed. We specifically booked the Willow Spa as it was advertised as pet friendly in several places within the listing. However, the pre-travel information sent one week before departure stated that dogs could not be left unattended in the accommodation. While we understand such a rule may exist, it would have been helpful for this to be made clear in the original listing before booking. The listing was also contradictory regarding WiFi. It stated that broadband/WiFi and a Smart TV were available, but further down the description it stated that no WiFi was provided. This left us unsure what to expect before arrival. The Willow Spa lodge itself was modern, clean and well presented. The sunken hot tub was private, well maintained and a real highlight of the stay. The site is relatively small, with around 120 lodges, but it is very well maintained, peaceful and ideal for a relaxing break. The swimming pool was a good size, quiet throughout our stay, and one of the best I have seen on a holiday park of this type. There are limited facilities on site, but immediately next door there is a restaurant, sports bar and café, all of which were very good. There is also a fishing lake nearby, which we used twice and the children thoroughly enjoyed. The location is excellent for exploring North Yorkshire. During our stay, we visited both Thirsk and York, which were within easy reach. In summary, we would happily return to the site and the accommodation. Pros: Clean lodge, private hot tub, excellent swimming pool, peaceful site, great location. Cons: Conflicting listing information and an unclear pet policy.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the Willow Spa lodge, particularly the private hot tub, swimming pool, peaceful setting, and great location for exploring North Yorkshire. We're sorry to hear about the confusion surrounding the property listing and your experience with communication through Sykes. We understand how frustrating conflicting information can be when planning a holiday, and we appreciate you bringing these points to our attention. It's great to know that, despite these issues, you found the lodge clean, modern, and well presented, and that you would happily return. Thank you for sharing your balanced review, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was well maintained for the most part, although one of the plastic fittings around the veranda doors had to be refitted as it was hanging off when we arrived."

Hot tub was clean and well maintained through the stay. Mixed feelings about the staff and service. Some were extremely helpful, Brooke, the archery instructor and Pool Attendant, was particularly helpful and pleasant, whilst some of the reception staff were straight up rude, which isn’t great when they’re supposed to be working in the hospitality sector. The site was clean and well maintained . On the whole the best holiday of its type we’ve had in the UK, but given the price I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you found the lodge well maintained, enjoyed the hot tub, and felt the site was clean and well looked after. It's also wonderful to hear that Brooke and the activity team helped make your stay a memorable one. We're sorry that some of your interactions with our reception team did not meet the high standards of service we aim to provide. Your comments have been shared with the relevant team for review. Thank you for your balanced feedback, and we're delighted that this was the best holiday of its type you've had in the UK. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful park,clean,quiet and relaxing."

. All the staff ee dealt with were polite and accommodating. We arrived for a short midweek break and I can't fault anything. From the moment we arrived we really felt relaxed.. my daughter and I had a mini spa which was wonderful. My only criticism would be the size of the single bed.. Im 7 stone and 5 ft tall and the bed was way too small for my comfort. The mattresses and duvets and pillows were good quality.. just a tenny tiny bed for a small adult.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed a relaxing break and found the park clean, quiet, and welcoming. It's great to know the team helped make your stay special and that you enjoyed your spa experience. We appreciate your feedback regarding the single bed and will pass your comments on to the relevant team. Thank you for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you and your daughter back again soon.
