  • "The cottage was spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean and with quality furnishings."

It was very quiet with wonderful walks right from the doorstep. We'd definitely come back.

Nice cottage comfortable Nice location We have used Sykes before on a few occasions and have never been disappointed

  • "Would highly recommend this cottage set in a site of similar cottages (ok there is no wi-fi but we managed quite well without it) it had everything else we required for our stay."

The location of the cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the area. Within a couple of miles of the National Park. Most places we visited were under an hours drive away. Stunning scenery.

  • "The cottage was comfortable and was well located for exploring the area."

However the cottage interior was very dated, had no shower, the bed linen was clean but old and off white. The whole complex had an air of slightly run down and in need of investment to bring it up to modern standards.

  • "Lovely cottage, very spacious and lovely quiet setting but only short walk to amenities."

Main disadvantageous us was lack of a proper shower, although reason for this was explained to us. Otherwise a great place and site manager very friendly.

  • "It would be good to have a few visit Northumbria brochures in the cottage on arrival and also info on Northumbria parking discs."

Perhaps you have these in your reception area, closed due to covid. In all other respects the cottage exceeded our needs and expectations.

  • "Cherryburn cottage is one of a complex of cottages managed by Border Rose Cottages."

It was clean spacious and comfortable, most importantly the beds. The kitchen had all the essential equipment for preparation of meals. We didn't use the washing machine. A dishwasher would have been more useful. Wifi and a real shower would have been nice but note we were able to connect our laptop to the internet by tethering it to a smart phone and there was a spray attachment on the bath taps. The on-site staff were friendly and helpful.
