  • "This is our second visit to the Cheviot Manor cottages."

This year we stayed in Timberwick Green Cottage. All the cottages are in a fantastic location for walking the Cheviot Hills, including Yeavering Bell, sections of St Cuthbert's Way, walks to Wooler Common etc. Walking straight out of the cottage, up the lane taking 2-3 minutes and we were into the scenic Cheviot hills. During our walks we saw plenty of Cheviot goats on the hills, many quails, rabbits, hares and sheep. Timberwick cottage and the other Cheviot Manor cottages are in close proximity to Alnwick, Dunstaburgh Castle and Bamburugh, on average about 20 minutes drive. We tended to use Wooler for our food supplies etc which is under 3 miles away. For a wider choice of supermarkets etc. Berwick-upon-Tweed is under 30 minutes drive. Timberwick Green Cottage is well equipped for self-catering, clean, comfortable and characterful. Internet access was great if you need it. On arrival there was a lovely touch of a bottle of wine, a welcome card along with goodies and a blanket for dogs. The Cheviot Manor staff were on site daily apart from Sunday if needed. A useful information folder and leaflets were also provided in the cottage. A tweak to the plumbing, specifically the flushing of the upstairs toilet would be great, though to be fair, we didn't go and speak to the reception staff about it. A personal preference would be to have a dishwasher in the dining kitchen rather than a washing machine/dryer, but we understand that others may differ on this. Overall, a very peaceful holiday, great value for money in the beautiful Northumberland country side. We will certainly stay in the Cheviot Manor cottages again. Thank you

  • "What a beautiful setting?"

Cottage a pleasure to stay in, owls right outside the window, walks from the door. Finding the Cheviot Goat pub on sight, with extremely friendly barman, was definitely an added bonus. Would be very happy to return!

  • "A really peaceful and idyllic place to stay."

Timberwick cottage was spacious, very clean, well decorated and well equipped, with plenty of storage space. Some of the equipment, such as the hob and oven were a bit dated and the signage on them faded, which made them a bit tricky to use. However overall a great place to spend a few days.
