"We had a wonderful week at the Hideaway."
Already looking to book for next year. The cottage had everything you need. Spotlessly clean, & the welcome pack was the best we'd ever received, even Willow our Cocker Spaniel had a gift. Perfect base for exploring Northumberland & the Scottish Borders.

"Excellent accommodation very well equipped and comfortable very suitable for dog owners."
Well situated for exploring the area

"We had a fabulous week at the Hideaway."
The property was spotless, comfortable and warm, and a perfect size for myself, my 12 yo daughter and our two cairn terriers. It was well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self-catering break. The owner, Paula, is very friendly and welcoming and kindly left lovely packs of goodies for the humans and for the doggies too. The location of the cottage is perfect. Belford itself has a few pubs, a coffee shop, a chippy and a co-op grocery store and Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Seahouses, are all less than 25 minutes drive away. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for everything Paula, from Michelle, Lily, Dougal & Daisy, hope to see you again next year!
-
"My wife and I along with our 2 Springer Spaniels had an absolutely fantastic week at the Hideaway."
This was our first visit to Northumberland from North Wales. The property location was idealy situated for our winter break. The bus service with stops close to the property allowed us to easily explore the coast both north and south with ease. The weather was sub zero but dry during our stay. The property was lovely and cosy warm during this period. We would highly recommend the Hideaway. The welcome pack of daily essentials was a pleasant surprise and most appreciated. 5+ star rating from us.
-
"Absolutely lovely cottage."
Everything you need is there. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Weather wasn’t always on our side (it was January) but we still managed to walk the many beaches almost on our doorstep. Would highly recommend
-

"The Hideaway is a great place for a very enjoyable stay."
Great location with many interesting places to visit quite close by. Easily walkable into the little town, but also quiet with a wonderful view. Very friendly and helpful host, nothing is too much trouble for Paula. She is so thoughtful. The cottage has everything you could want, with a great shower and very good kitchen facilities. Also spotlessly clean and a generous welcome pack. Would highly recommend. Thank you, we would love to return.
-
"I would recommend this property as clean, comfortable, peaceful, and offering good value for money."
Minor drawbacks are that parking is around the opposite side of the property to the access door, and that the occupant appears to have no control on when the heating comes on although you can shut down the radiators if on when you don’t need them.
-
"An excellent clean accommodation in an ideal location for visiting the area."
The owner was most welcoming, welcoming and very friendly. The village of Belford has three pubs which all provide good food and the local coop is well stocked. Many of the attractions of Northumbria are within easy reach.

"The host was really approachable and the welcome pack that the host provided was the best we had received in any holiday let to date."
The property was clean, big plus, and every household appliance you could wish for was provided. The bathroom and bedroom were both clean and comfortable. Unfortunately because of the time of year and the adverse weather temperatures we were unable to sit out and enjoy the wonderful view.

We had a lovely time feeding the Donkeys an apple each morning and chatting with the delightful owner made our week.
-
"We very much enjoyed our stay and were impressed by the welcome pack."
It was clean and presentable and in fact I have already recommended it to a friend. The only slight negative was I couldn't get the shower hot plus the length of time it took for hot water to come through.
-
"Wow..."
What can I say? I have stayed at many cottages over the years, some have spoilt my break but this was perfect! It had everything you will need. Paula really thought of the small things that just made the place feel like home. I will definitely stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Everything you need, clean tidy and all the facilities you need. in perfect location, handy for lots off places to visit. "This little holiday home really is perfection!"
If what you're looking for is a quiet, very well equipped & comfortable base with easy access to all the stunning highlights of beautiful Northumberland, you won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at this gorgeous & extremely doggy friendly property. The welcome from Paula was second to none, & the huge bowl of fresh fruit, bread, milk, jams & sweet treats (plus doggy biscuits too!) were an extra special touch on top of her genuine warmth & kindness. The Hideaway is easily accessed, but tucked away along a tiny very pretty country lane, & has a lovely outside sitting area with fabulous views over rolling countryside. Minutes walk away are the friendly pubs, cafes, & large Co-OP of this charming, quiet but central little town.We also discovered some beautiful walks straight from the door; great for if you like having 'car free' days...we had the most lovely relaxing holiday. 100% recommended!
-

"The Hideaway at Hollyoak is a lovely home from home."
There was everything you could possibly need and it is very comfortable and clean. A beautiful location with stunning views and walking distance of amenities in the village of Belford. Paula is a friendly host, concerned about our comfort and wellbeing. Her donkeys Fergus and Yorkie fascinated our dog who spent a lot of time just watching them. We would recommend the local beaches of Bamburgh and Beadnell, great for long walks and stunning scenery. We really didn't want to go home which is the sign of a good holiday. A beautiful setting and a relaxing break had by all. Highly recommended.
-
"This is a beautiful property and we could not fault anything."
Location is perfect for seeing the area and the view is so peaceful and quiet. A joy to get up to in the mornings. Comfy bed and sofas, nice walk in shower. Handwash, shampoo, etc provided. Also dish wash tablets, cleaning sprays, etc. Lots of tea towels. No need to take anything with you. A wonderful welcome with a large bowl of fruit, milk, orange juice, jams & marmalade, butter, sugar, tea, coffee bags, wrapped chocolate bars, fresh bread, not forgetting the doggie biscuits, unfortunately we don't have a dog!!! Parking is easy in your own parking place right next to the property. Paula is so pleasant, kind and helpful. We hope to visit again. Mary & Eric

"We had a fabulous week with no rain at the Hideaway Paula is an excellent host."
The bungalow was spotlessly clean and we had a fantastic welcome pack on arrival even biscuits for our dog Benji. The view from the patio is fabulous looking out over the fields and watching Fergus and Yorkie the donkeys in their paddock. We also enjoyed watching the birds especially first thing in the morning so many bird feeders on the tree. The Hideaway is in a prime location for visiting all the main attractions in Northumberland. We will definitely return.

"We had an amazing holiday at The Hideaway."
Spotlessly clean, lovely warm welcome and a very thoughtful welcome hamper, even biscuits for the pooch. The Hideaway had adequate storage and the owners I feel have thought of everything. The kitchen has everything you need, well equipped and there was even coffee pods for the coffee machine, which was a lovely touch. Paula is such a wonderful host and nothing is too much bother for her. We met the gorgeous donkeys, Fergus and Yorkie and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting and watching all the lovely birds that come to feed on the tree at the bottom of the enclosed garden. We had such an amazing time that we’ve decided to go back again, didn’t want to leave.

The Hideaway is comfortable with everything you need for a getaway, we managed to cook our Christmas dinner using the provided equipment etc. Paula is the perfect host even checking with us before our stay if we would like some Christmas decorations. The location is ideal for access to beaches, walks and nearby Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick. The information pack is comprehensive with recommendations for places to eat and where to visit. We will definitely be back in the near future.

"~ We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Hideaway."
Paula went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our stay. It was well equipped, clean and very well set up. There was a supermarket within walking distance, fish chip shop and an excellent farm shop with a good restaurant. The bus stop was a short distance down the road. Plenty of opportunity for walking in the area.

"We have just come back from a wonderful week at the Hideaway."
The accommodation was lovely and clean. Having 2 sofas was wonderful, the outside sitting area was in the sun from midday onwards, the kitchen area was sufficient, had everything we needed and the facilities worked perfectly. The bed was huge and comfy and the shower excellent as was the hot water supply. But best of all was the welcome pack, which was fantastic and the host, Paula, just couldn't do enough for you. Sincere thanks to her. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
