"The house was clean, cosy, warm and comfortable."
Perfect for the rest and recuperation I needed.

"Reviews of 75 Mansfield Road are consistently good - and having stayed there, it's easy to see why."
The house is absolutely spotlessly clean, very warm, comfortable and spacious. The large, fully enclosed garden is superbly maintained and was excellent for our dog, who likes to chase a ball and has a much smaller garden at home! We were left a lovely welcome pack, which included treats for us AND the dog and we had a fantastic stay there. The owners Keth and Julie work hard to ensure that guests have a good experience and were on hand if needed. I thoroughly recommend this house and would definitely stay again.

"We really enjoyed our stay at 75 Mansfield Road ."
It was like a home from home with everything we needed for our stay. The enclosed rear garden was a bonus for our dog Barney who loved it, would not hesitate in staying again when we plan our next stay in the area. One small criticism is the noise from the busy main road, and a possible up grade to a Smart TV ,but nevertheless we enjoyed our stay. Thanks Julie & Keith

"Very comfortable & homely, clean & welcoming."
We used the house as a base for our daughters wedding & couldn't have asked for more. The use of the garage was an absolute bonus for us, being able to have the space to sort everything after the wedding made it so much easier. The owners Julie & Keith are such lovely people.

"A beautifully maintained, very homely, well equipt, spotlessly clean holiday property."
The welcome tray of goodies, inluding doggie treats, very thoughtful. The owners, who we only met briefly, were very nice and charming people. We will have no hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay as the gateway to the Peak District

From the moment you enter this homely house you can relax and enjoy the comprehensive facilities including the fully enclosed rear garden which is a wonderful playground for you, your children and pets. The owners are always available and ready to add any information which may not be included in the very comprehensive welcome package.

"One of the best holidays we have had as a family."
First time booking with Sykes. Whole process simple and informative. Thank you to Julie who went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable. Lovely food package awaited us on arrival, something for us all to enjoy. The House was spacious and spotlessly clean. We spent many hours in the beautiful garden with our daughters and dog. Short walk down the road was a nice restaurant where we could eat outside as a family with the dog. We have had many cottage holidays over the years but this place we all felt we would like to return to. Many Thanks

Amazing views, pub serving food, including breakfast from 9am 5mins walk, coffee shop & garden centre 10mins walk. Supermarket, park & shops 10min drive. Was worried about going on holiday with the covid 19 situation but we really enjoyed it, the property was spotless, owners met all of our needs (completely socially distanced) was great to get away and have a change of scenery. Fabulous location, plenty wonderful places to visit including Sherwood Forest and Matlock, lots of open spaces and fresh air. Was a definite thumbs up from us!

"This house is idealy located ,2miles from M1 motorway ,very close to Chesterfield,Sheffield and Bolsover with all local amenities and supermarkets 10minutes away."
We were visiting family in Sheffield only 20 minutes away .It is situated in a little village surrounded by open farmland very picturesque and relaxing .There are 2 pubs in the village both serving excellent food .There is one small village shop open till late providing a good variety of products . The local sights include Hardwick hall,Bolsover Castle ,Chatsworth house ,Haddon Hall, Bakewell,Buxton and Matlock . The photos of the house don't do it justice ,it is a large property ,with a bathroom and a separate toilet downstairs ,the kitchen is large and spacious ,with all the utensils you need with washing machine and dishwasher .the lounge ,dining room and sun room all open up to create one very large living space .plenty of cupboard space in the bedrooms .There is an automated garage attached to the house . There is a lovely big back garden adjoining the open fields ,big enough to kick a ball about . The property is very cosy and homely all the little extras,cd's,dvds, board games and books were a nice touch .Along with the welcoming pack of tea ,coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits on arrival .Along with the Christmas tree and decorations put up by the owners ,were a lovely touch especially for our 7 year old son . we were there over Christmas and enjoyed spending Christmas there as 3 generations of family . The central heating worked well ,the house always being warm ,it was always nice to return to after a winters day out . The owners who we met could not do enough for us were very friendly and hospitable ,very flexible on arrival and departure times . We would highly recommend this holiday home from home and stay there again in the future . Stephen Smith , Johannesburg South Africa .

About the location
CHESTERFIELD
Matlock 10 miles; Chatsworth 10 miles; Bakewell 13 miles.
The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. Nearby, the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall is still impressive today, with its 6 grand towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick’s initials, overlooking the superb gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds. Also popular is the semi-ruined 17th Century mansion of Bolsover Castle, set high on a wooded hilltop, looking west towards the heights of the Peak District. Chesterfield has a host of other attractions within easy reach, such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, the amenities of Matlock and Bakewell, or the opera at Buxton. An interesting base for a varied break.
