The owners Sue and Colin are very friendly and helpful and they keep their cottage to a very high standard of cleanliness. Well situated for dog walking around the peaks including Dovedale and Hawksmoor. If you are looking for a nice peaceful and relaxing holiday then look no further as you will be hard pushed to find better hosts and facilities. “Perfect little gem”

We stayed in this beautiful little gem for two nights whilst visiting Alton Towers. Jacob’s Barn was perfect, so cosy and homely and the surroundings were breathtaking. It is the ideal getaway booking and would recommend to anyone who takes an interest. Thank you to Susan and family for a lovely stay!

“Mr & Mrs”

We found this wonderful accommodation on the edge of the peak district after being let down by a previous booking , i have to say this was excellent , a well thought out designed barn conversion and very well equipped , the area is lovely and a great location for exploring other areas too which are only a short drive away Ashbourne , Leek and Alton towers if your into that etc , we mainly had a relaxing get away and it is definitely what we needed, there is a pub about 2 mile if you prefer to drive instead of walk which we did as i have a bad leg , the Star at Cotton , excellent food and very cheerful staff , the soaked ham in cider is a must on a Sunday, all in all great place to stay , proprietors are a lovely couple and recommend a stay at 'Jacobs barn ' . 5 star from me *****

Ramsor Farm Holiday Cottages

These three delightful, adjoining red sandstone barn conversions, are situated on the fringe of the small country community of Ramshorn, on the edge of the glorious Peak District, five miles from Ashbourne. Beautifully converted with a keen eye for quality, they both offer open plan living areas across the ground floor, with cosy double beds tucked away on the mezzanine floor above. From the oak doors with polished pewter handles, to the slate flooring and exposed stone walls, they exude charm and character, with a touch of luxury from the underfloor heating downstairs. Warm and welcoming, they have modern kitchens and contemporary shower rooms, with comfortable beds and quality bedding ensuring a good night's sleep. Outside the properties are small, enclosed private courtyards, a sheltered spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine after an enjoyable day exploring the vicinity. Walkers and cyclists will be eager to sample the nearby Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail, or for an easier afternoon, try pretty Ilam Village with its stately home and village walks. The popular historic market town of Ashbourne offers independent shops, restaurants and tea rooms and is known for quality antique shops, a pleasant way to spend an afternoon browsing. For thrills and excitement, Alton Towers Theme Park lies two miles away, but the Consall Valley Steam Railway and Foxfield Railway are both within easy reach and for a day with a difference, visit Peak Wildlife Park. Three endearing properties providing a good base from which to explore or simply relax and unwind.
