Just Show Me Polzeath Cottages
Book a Polzeath holiday cottage and ride the waves along Cornwall's breathtaking north coast. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, it's easy to see why enthusiasts (plus the occasional dolphin or seal) flock here; keen to go wet and wild on the white-foamed breakers. Book a few lessons or perfect your art of finding that perfect roller.
Low tide reveals a stunning, Blue Flag beach where sands stretch before you - ideal for family days out, buckets and spades in tow. There's also a smaller beach to the right known as Little Polzeath, popular for bathing. When the tide comes in, head home to your Polzeath cottage or into the village for a potter around the shops or perhaps a drink or bite to eat in one of the cafés or pubs.
Swap boards for boots and walk the coastal path to Daymer Bay and Rock at the mouth of the Camel Estuary, or in the other direction to Pentire Point, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Swap boots for clubs and seek out the fairways. There are some wonderful courses in the locality such as St. Enodoc's Church Course, designed by James Braid. Next door is the old church and Sir John Betjeman's grave - Polzeath was a favourite haunt of the late poet laureate and is mentioned in some of his verse.
