Just Show Me Cottages In Porthleven

Lose yourself on the Lizard Peninsula with a stay in one of our Porthleven holiday cottages.

Oozing charm and timeless appeal, Porthleven has bags of character, its tiny streets crammed with whitewashed cottages, elegant villas, attractive shops and stylish galleries. Pride of place, however, goes to the magnificent granite harbour built during Napoleonic times. Though its importance as a port has long petered out, today's waters are still busy with fishing boats and leisure craft offering angling trips and cruises.

When the tide's out, hit the beach for a lovely three-mile walk along the sands past the extraordinary Loe Bar sandbank and the National Trust's Penrose Estate. If the tide's in, simply clamber up the headland and join the coastal path.

And when you fancy exploring further afield, local attractions range from Flambard's theme park and the National Seal Sanctuary to Trevarno Gardens and Lizard Point.

Great food from your cottage in Porthleven

Cornish cream teas, crumbly pasties, locally brewed ales, superb seafood - just a few highlights of the local menus in Porthleven's harbour-side inns and restaurants. Or make the most of your Porthleven holiday rental and sample fish and chips or today's catch from a fishmonger.

Or plan your stay around the annual food festival, a delicious gathering of foodies from near and far, with all kinds of mouth-watering stalls, cookery demonstrations, music and entertainment, plus a 'Leftover Lunch' the following day - simply bring along a plate, knife and fork and tuck in!

If you're looking for big and bold then think again. A cottage holiday in Porthleven is somewhere small and special.
