Everything was just perfect, comfortable and clean. We had everything we could possibly need, the children had so much to entertain them and so much space. Ysgubor Wen made us feel home from home and we have no hesitation in recommending here to family and friends. We look forward to visiting again.

  • "We book a Sykes holiday cottage every year and have done for a few years now and this cottage was simply the best we have stayed in to date."

The owner has given full consideration of what may be needed; when this property is fully occupied and with 2 dogs in tow. We like to bake cakes and cook meals such as a Sunday roast during our stay this way made easy by a very well equipped kitchen. Plenty of tea, coffee and sugar on arrival alongside milk and a home made barrabrith was a lovely touch also a vase of beautiful daffodils. The house was clean and very well maintained. We hope to return in the summer next time to fully embrace the fantastic outside space that this house has to offer. Helen the owner is an absolute treasure - we left some keys behind at the property and she met us to return them…this is above and beyond anything that you could ask for a holiday home owner. Lovely lady who deserves this 5 star review.

  • "We have had such a great time here that we have already booked to come back in April!"

We are looking to buy a property on the island and Ysgubor Wen has set the bar high and given us plenty of inspiration! Our dogs have absolutely loved using and exploring every corner of the three paddocks that Helen very kindly allows use of. One evening I stood watching a murmuration of swallows performing above me as the dogs sniffed and ran around the bottom of the fields. Amazing! Thank you so much Helen for being such a lovely, kind and generous host. See you soon!

  • "“I booked this wonderful property to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family."

” (Continued) On arrival we were greeted by the lovely owner Helen, she informed us of everything we needed to know and welcomed us with the best home made fruit bun we’ve all ever tasted & was kind enough to send me her recipe. We initially had fun running round the house with my Grandchildren exploring all the rooms. The house is immaculate the rooms are huge, the beds are a delight with tv’s in every room, luxury bedding and beautiful soft fluffy towels. The living room was perfect with the largest couch I have ever seen. Helen left plenty of wood for us to light the log burner (even in the heat of the summer!). The amazing kitchen had everything we needed and more, Helen's attention to detail is second to none. The kitchen table fitted 10 people round comfortably and we were so fortunate with the weather that we were able to dine outside on the equally large patio table. My grandchildren had plenty of space to ride their bikes within the safe fenced garden. We also watched the occasional fighter planes flying over side by side. The views are spectacular and the sunset an absolute pleasure. We visited nearby Rhosneigr with it's wonderful beach. We also visited the beautiful town of Beaumaris with lovely independent shops, we had great fun crab fishing on the pier too. Llynon Mill, Llanddeusant was a great day out with its working windmill that we could climb right to the top of, it also had a miniature safari trailwhich was fun for both adults and children alike, to finish they sold the most amazing coffee and donuts! We packed so much into our 3-night stay and were all reluctant to leave! We will book earlier next time for a much longer stay. Thank you Helen for the most perfect weekend x

  • "After a warm and inviting welcome from our lovely host Helen we have enjoyed our stay at Ysgubor Wen."

The house is superbly well equipped, warm and stylishly furnished! Perfect for our family, including the little ones and four-legged friends. The Anglesey weather was not particularly kind to us with constant rain and high winds, nevertheless we have explored the local area including a visit to Beaumaris Castle, Menai Bridge, Red Wharf Bay and the local beaches. We had drinks at the Oyster Catcher and also a meal which we would recommend! Also a nice meal at Dylan's in Menai Bridge. Thank you.
