"We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it is a beautiful property and the views across the loch are stunning we were blessed with gorgeous weather and spectacular sunrises."
The property was clean but, the bathroom sink plug was clogged and the water drained slowly, I cleaned hair and gunk out and put bleach down and it flowed much better. The shower plug/drain had not been cleaned in a while again clogged up, we cleaned it. The downstairs toilet light did not work, probably a new bulb needed. Better instructions for using the heating and hot water system would be appreciated, as well as how to use the cooker. A welcome pack with these instructions would be good . I was not given any instructions on what to do when leaving, do I strip the beds where do I put the washing, do I just put the key back in the key safe. Food had been left in the pantry, which could cause problems, condiments left were very useful though. I would book the property again as our holidays was really so relaxing and wonderful, many happy memories made.

Close to town amenities and the views are spectacular. I highly recommend the home as well as Cambeltown

"The property was very comfortable, nice and warm."
It also benefitted from easy and walkable access to the local shops and Pubs. The Sunrises over Arran were spectacular most mornings, which complimented the good weather during our stay.

"We will be back soon!"

"Accuracy of the listing, the website photos and words confirm the availability of coffee machine and pods, telescope in bedroom all were not on display."
The house on arriving was not a welcoming experience as it was very cold it would have good to have the heating programmed to come on just before the 4.00pm entry time to make it a welcoming environment Surprised that there was no welcome pack, all previous properties rented through Sykes had one, this was not shown on the website but would have been a nice touch
Hello, so sorry you didn’t find the property welcoming when you arrived. We leave clear instructions for the heating the house heats very quickly, sometimes it gets too hot, it’s difficult to anticipate arrival time of every guest. With regard to telescope this was broken by a previous guest and unfortunately they failed to offer a replacement or reimburse us for the item, we were saddened by this as my late Father purchased this for the house and loved the view, despite this, we have purchased a new one a will take it on our next visit. We do offer a welcome pack but have made the decision to do this for guest bookings over a week or more, when guests stay for a couple of days our costs have increased so much and we have therefore tried not to increase booking fees but cut where we can, with increasing energy costs coupled with other rising expenses we try as best we can to provide you with the best stay. We do hope you enjoyed your stay despite your initial disappointment. Property Owner

"Thank you so much for a wonderful stay."
We were lucky to have such a glorious weekend, with hot weather. The property was in an ideal location, with beautiful views, close to the park for the children and with everything that we needed for a very clean and comfortable stay.

"An absolute Gem, it was our second time & thought it was our last, but we've enjoyed it so much that, will be back again, am afraid."
-
"A great house which felt luxurious and well equipped."
The views are spectacular and constantly changing. Birds, seals, boats, ships and the changing sky. Very good walks from the door or short drives away. Local whisky bar is near where we met some international whisky tour groups. Fab place for a holiday. Can see why Linda McCartney loved Kintyre, a total escape.

"Great location and beautiful house,Not very child friendly as there’s so many ornaments, vases in reach for young children."
Lots of candles around but not allowed to light them?.bit pointless.owner complaining about excessive waste.all in bin bags as per instructions but now wants compensation.furniture and fixtures lovely but not suitable for anyone with young children who like to play
Disappointed that you think there are too many items which you described as ornaments. We believe the house is child friendly if of course, children understand boundaries, similarly if you were staying in a hotel or visiting a restaurant, furniture is not designed to be used as a trampoline, we had to repair damaged furniture where legs had been snapped. The point you make about bin bags is a result of excessive amounts of empty alcohol bottles containers found outside coupled with empty bottles cans found in drawers, laundry baskets and under beds this costs more in house keeping expenses albeit rare when this happens with guests. We are extremely grateful to the many guests with or without children over the last 5 years who have found our house welcoming and comfortable, all of whom have appreciated the high end quality and in return have respected the efforts we have made. We will continue to let our future and returning guests determine the child friendly status of our beautiful property. Property Owner

"Perfect location, excellent rooms, fantastic sea views, the welcome gift was a very nice touch!"
-
"We so loved the view across the sea from this property, even a telescope provided."
.. The standard of decoration and facilities of this cottage was just superb. It was probably one of the highest spec. self catering places, we have ever stayed in.

"The house is exactly as shown on the website, with the lounge and main bedroom having a fabulous open sea view that we found difficult to prize ourselves away from."
The house is an easy 10 or so minutes walk to the town centre, which is perfect. If there was one suggestion that would make it even better, then I'd say that there were no garden chairs or table to enjoy the outside. We did want to sit in the garden and enjoy the sound of the waves, but we had to get our own chairs from the car to do this. It's a minor point, but it would have been handy to have these. Overall, a fabulous property in a fabulous location on the water.

About the location
CAMPBELTOWN
Tarbert 38 miles; Lochgilphead 50 miles.
Campbeltown is the Kintyre Peninsula's main town and is set in a deep bay, sheltered by Davaar Island, which can be reached by foot at low tide by a mile-long causeway, and the beautiful surrounding hills. In its heyday, the town boasted a vast fishing fleet and, allegedly, 34 whisky distilleries! Today, there are two single malts to be sampled in the town, from Glen Scotia and Springbank. Worth a visit are the Campbeltown Heritage Centre, housed in an old church, the Tartan Kirk, a very striking building which provides an interesting insight into its past history, and the 'Wee Picture House', the country's oldest working cinema and an Art Deco treasure! The town also offers a swimming pool and fitness suite. A few miles to the south is The Mull of Kintyre, made famous by Sir Paul McCartney's song, from where you can see the hills of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, only 12 miles away.
