The property

The Old Bakery is a ground floor apartment situated in Whithorn, Scotland.

Throughout the home the colours are attractive, welcoming and very much in the modern-contemporary style but in keeping with the classic, period cottage style.

The front of the property itself boasts a lovely cream exterior, with olive green window frames and door.

It is ideal for couples, looking for a romantic holiday in the Scottish countryside.

Step into the cosy open-plan living space, with its wonderful light decor and stunning patchwork feature fireplace.

There is a comfortable sofa with a large TV, ideal for evenings in front of the fire.

There is a small dining area with seating for up to two people, as well as a small bookcase stocked with a selection of books and games to keep you entertained during your stay.

The kitchen has a set of fitted wooden units and worktops, with ample storage space and all the appliances you could need.

All rooms are located on the ground floor, with a double bedroom to the left of the front door.

Toward the back of the property you will find a modern shower room with a large walk-in shower.

Roadside parking is available directly outside the property.

Outside there is a small stone courtyard area with seating available, perfect for sitting out for a romantic drink under the stars.

There is an award winning pub at the Isle of Whithorn, a little harbour village pub where food and drinks are available.

Nearby attractions include The Book Shop in Wigtown, a stunning bookstore with a spiral sculpture of a book pile on either side of the door.

Inside boasts a welcoming feeling, with floor to ceiling bookcases, stocked full to the brim with various books, a lovely feature fireplace and armchairs for visitors to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

This is not a destination book lovers want to miss.

The Old Bakery is perfect for a romantic getaway for two.

About the location

WHITHORN

Castlewigg 2 miles; Wigtown 10.5 miles; Newton Stewart 17 miles.

The former Royal Burgh of Whithorn on the Machars Peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway is renowned for having the first recorded Christian church is Scotland. Built by St Ninian around 397, the site of the Candida Casa, or White/Shining House, is now home to the parish church. The area of Whithorn is rich in history and is also home to a medieval priory and an archaeological site. The distinctive shape of Whithorn, with its spacious central area and narrow entrance-ways of elegant Georgian houses, displays its medieval heritage. The Machars and Rhins of Galloway are also home to spectacular gardens, a result of the Gulf Stream and mild climate. Logan Botanic Gardens, the Aldouran Wetland and the spectacular gardens of Castle Kennedy are all a must see. To the north of the Machars are the Galloway Hills, offering walking to all levels as well as world class mountain biking. Golf, fishing and wildlife spotting are well catered for and the sandy beaches of Monrieth, Garleston, and along the whole of Luce Bay will delight any visitor.

Note: There are a few steps leading to the front door and may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.
