  • "The house was very comfortable and well equipped."

They provided a cot and stair gate plus high chair on request for 2 year old guest. Very clean property, especially considering they allowed dogs, even suppling covers for sofas. No smoking rules which suited us as we are all non smokers but sad to see that other visitors had smoked in garden and left cigarette ends all on around barbecue area, very thoughtless.

  • "An excellent clean property, within short walks to the beach and shops."

Dog friendly it is, providing blankets and even a pop up bowl. Location is perfect for trips to Eden, Truro,Bodmin and many other places. The property comes with a lot of towels, hairdryer, iron, ironing board and a hoover which isn't the best (only minor complaint). I would definitely book this place again. Thank you to the owner.

Enclosed rear garden, safe for dogs and it captured the sunshine all day long - an unexpected bonus. We really did appreciate the lovely soft towels provided. No recycling facilities though.

  • "We felt we were lacking some basic information such as recycling details and it would have been useful to know the bin emptying day."

Also no information re good place to walk the dog evening and morning etc. The house itself was very clean and comfy but I think it should have been made clearer that the ensuite did not have a wc.

The Ensuite is only a shower and washbasin. This is now made clear on the ad. Dogs are very welcome and there are lots of nearby places to walk them. We had fabulous weather so we were outdoors most of the time but if the weather had turned for the worse then the owner had thought of everything as there were dvd’s, board games and books to hand. Lovely house with ample space and would gladly go back.

Very comfortable couches and beds, maybe the double bed could have a new mattress as it was thin and not too comfy but thats the only gripe. It had everything we needed and in a good location. I will certainly be booking again.

We expect to replace the double bed mattress before summer. Thanks for the positive words! Property Owner

  • "This house was in a perfect location."

It was clean and tidy. Just a few niggles: The table outside had seen better days and was rotton, my husband put his hand through the wood (unintentionally!!) and it exposed rusty nails which could have been nasty if a child had done it - we contacted the owner who was happy to sort it out after our stay. The doors downstairs especially the kitchen one were stiff & difficult to open at times. Apart from that, it was perfect

. the house is lovely and in a great location.. the only issue was the picnic bench in the garden.. the wood is rotting/splitting and the seats are loose.. we chose not to use it.. but I suspect that if someone did use it..it might not end well.. possible health and safety issue. We booked at short notice due to our booking next door being cancelled, and I must say that Sykes were excellent in communicating between us and the owner.. Thankyou

The location was good if you are fit & healthy, lots of places to visit. Lovely bays near by or a short drive away. I would recommend this property to all but be aware if you have mobility problems then a car is needed.

  • "Had a lovely week in the house."

The cleanliness was spot on. There was everything you could need in the house. Location really good but a bit of a hike back up from the town and beaches. I had one niggle in the house and that was the dishwasher wasn’t working and it was stacked with pots we had used so we had to take them out and wash everything. I alerted the owner and he arranged a repair man to call me which he didn’t. I was a bit miffed that the owner didn’t follow up on the problem. I don’t go on holiday to wash up so wasn’t happy about this. Overall though l would recommend the property.

The property is dog friendly and has everything you need. We were disappointed with Newquay, as it was far too busy, as was most of Cornwall. We were unable to prebook any pub meals, though there are plenty of quality pubs in the surrounding villages. The Two Clomes in Quintrell Downs is one we would highly recommend. It will be awhile before we return to Cornwall.

House was completely spotless and felt like it had been cleaned extremely thoroughly (espcially important in these strange times). House was lovely, and well-equipped - and a great location for exploring the local area. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday !

  • "The house itself was lovely and in regards to facilities there was everything you'd need."

The garden was disappointing for us; the wooden table and umbrella was broken, we had to pull out weeds in order to be able to use the back garden and there was also dog faeces in the garden we had to remove ourselves. The spring mattress in the smaller double room is a bit dated although I suppose that it's personal choice. Overall it was a great stay in a great location but just a shame about the gardens.

Good location within walking distance of Newquay town centre and good road connections for getting around to other places. Good garden for our dog. The only negative would be the front bedroom bed is very creaky given its a wooden frame.

Easy to book and pay. The holiday home was really nice and clean. Super location in Newquay with everything in walking distance- quite hilly! Just one point to note - the en-suite does not have a toilet and this needs to be mentioned in the description. No washing line for our wetsuits but after mentioning it the manager said he would install one this week. I would stay here again.

  • "We had a really nice week in Newquay with our two Tibetan Terriers."

Fistral beach is 15 minute walk but actually the main (Towan) beach is closer if you walk straight through the town. At low tide you can walk along three beaches as well! The town centre (inc. Sainsbury's for food shopping) is a 7-8 minute walk so our teenage daughters could easily walk down to town and entertain themselves at coffee shops, amusement arcades, fudge shop etc! The house itself was really nice and perfect for a family of 4 or 5 plus pets. Netflix on the TV was useful! There are so many lovely beaches within walking distance or a 10-15 minute drive that you can visit a different one every day easily. At low tide the beaches are vast and it's a good idea to take wetsuits / bodyboards with you as well.

Garden is great in that it is totally enclosed and safe for the dog. Good kitchen facilities. Very comfortable stay. Parking can at times be a little bit difficult i.e. you can really only park 1 car outside the house and then any others it is 1st come basis along side the wall, however this didnt really cause us too many issues, plenty parking nearby that was free from 4:00pm until 9.00am the next day. Not for the infirm or those with mobility problems as the walk back from the town centre is very steep. OK if you don't mind using your car, but part of the holiday for us is not having to use the car. Mr Clarke (the owner) made every effort to assist us with 2/3 problems we had, even driving for 2 hours to meet us at the property to try to sort things out! A thorough check of the property before our arrival may have avoided this.
