10 Customer Reviews

  • "Bahari is great for us."

The second time we have used the house. It’s in a great location, has great space inside and out and the use of the garage is very handy for storage of all the beach stuff! Yes, (as mentioned in other reviews) some parts of the property isn’t the most modern but it is clean and tidy and we find it is all part of the charm and what attracted us to a second visit within a year. Rock is a great place for direct access to the beach, or seeking out other beaches within a short drive. Highly recommend!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay once more, and that Bahari suits your needs so well. We look forward to hopefully welcoming you back again in the future - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Decent location but in need of modernisation!"

Not really child friendly due to sharp slate. Unfortunately, we had an horrendous week at Bahari! The boiler had a leak and the whole house stank… For 5 nights!! Even struggled to sleep properly. We were offered a maximum of 10% refund. Definitely would NOT stay again nor recommend it. It appears the owners care more about making money than the holidaymakers care. Sorry

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. As background and context to the odour experienced; during the week prior to your stay we had a full boiler service and was informed of a small water leak and it was recommended that we have a new boiler fitted. This we immediately did so as to avoid disappointing guests that were due to arrive in the coming days. Unbeknown to us the plumber had fitted a part during the installation that turned out to be faulty and the cause of the leak of an odour. Only once you had pointed this out during your stay we were able to challenge the installing plumber who then rectified the issue. We apologise for the negative impact that this had on your stay. We are sorry that the property was not up to our usual standard, this has been reflected in your refund and care taken by us to safely rectify the issue to the best of our ability, following company policies. Our guest's happiness is very important to us, and we once more apologise that this was not an enjoyable experience for you - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "This was our second time staying in Bahari and we really appreciated the improvements, particularly the seating in the lounge and the new bathrooms."

The house is very comfortable and cosy and has a lovely atmosphere. A couple more side tables in the lounge would be useful for putting drinks on but we used the lamp tables. Some hooks on the curtains in the Kingsize bedroom need replacing and the duvet in the double bedroom is torn. My brother would have found a grab rail on the outside wall by the steps useful, tho they were fine for me! I would like to thank Paul at John Bray for his assistance with a request we made. We had a lovely holiday. Thank you.

We are so pleased your enjoyed your latest stay and look forward to welcoming you back again very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner Property Owner

  • "Spacious and comfortable property."

Living room is a good size, with a modern TV and good WiFi speed. Lots of hot water available throughout our stay too. However the property is in need of TLC throughout, the bathrooms look like they have been recently refurbished but the paint is already peeling in places. All bedrooms are in serious need of a lick of paint and general modernisation. The mattress in the main bedroom was also larger than the actual divan bed base, so the mattress sagged along one side! Garden furniture was in a poor state, dirty and really needs to be replaced ASAP. There was also a general musty/damp smell in the snug room and kitchen, which maybe points towards larger damp issues.Especially backed by the fact there was a 'damp catcher' device hanging up in the snug room!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback from your recent stay. We are pleased you enjoyed the space and comfort the property offers. We are already making arrangements to refresh the paintwork and replace the mattress as well as the flooring. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. UPDATE Karndean flooring fitted in the “snug” room and entrance. The whole house has been repainted, bedroom furniture replaced with more modern looking pieces and the king sized mattress replaced. Thank you for pointing out these issues. Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious property."

Enjoyed the new bathrooms. My only reservation was the carpeting, especially at entrance and in the 'extra' sitting room. It gave off a musty smell.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future! Regarding the carpeting, we are working with the owner to see if we can get some Karndean flooring to replace this! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. UPDATE Karndean flooring installed in the “extra sitting room” and the entrance. Thanks for your observations. Property Owner

  • "Even though we had a good holiday in Bahari we were surprised to find two bags of dirty laundry in the porch."

It had been there since Easter and we think that that must be the last time that the property had been checked as the outdoor furniture needed a clean and the lawns had not been mown. Also the fridge freezer in the garage was unplugged and filthy. This was not a good start to our holiday. We reported these things to the Jon Bray office. The laundry was eventually collected on Saturday but the grass was not cut until Tuesday. We had already washed down the outdoor chairs etc. and also the fridge freezer. This was the third time that we had stayed in Bahari and have also stayed in several Jon Bray properties previously but this is the first time that we have had to complain.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by these issues. Regarding the linen bags; the linen was hired from an external supplier who then failed to collect it following the previous guests' departure. Your other comments have been passed on to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays. We hope you still managed to enjoy your visit despite these issues and would love to welcome you back to North Cornwall in the future! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. • "Agree with previous review."

We were fortunate we had good weather as we were able to open doors and windows to mitigate smell of damp and mould as you enter the property. House badly needs updating. Kitchen equipment is old and poor quality. Cooker rusted. Tumble dryer unusable because of smell. Only half size dishwasher. Beds and living room furniture old and need updating. Shower squeals when used and leaked onto floor. Thought it odd they ask for £200 bond where our previous week at the lovely and well equipped Willowbrook did not. On the plus side nice quiet road and lovely garden.

Thank you for your feedback. I am relly sorry for the issues you encountered during your stay at Bahari. In light of the recent reviews the owners have updated the cooker, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. There are also new mattresses for the beds. By march 2022 there will be new sofas in the lounge and a smart TV. I hope with the updates to the property you would enjoy your stay much more and have a change in opinion regards to the property - John Bray Cornish Holiday's on behalf of the owners. Property Owner

  • "Another great week in Rock only slightly let down by the accommodation."

Bahari Is a VERY spacious bungalow, but in need of some further updating. Plus sides - big, spacious rooms, new bathrooms, lots of hot water, three toilets, good broadband for those that have to do work. 5 min walk to local shops and 10 min walk to the sea/beach/restaurants. Down sides. Kitchen needs an update. Oven is old, cookware is very limited. Kitchen table really flimsy, Sitting room furniture very old and uncomfortable. Bedrooms need a similar update too. Bahari Is a good home base, and with a little continued updating, it would be worth the money

Its great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us! You will be pleased to hear that the owners have updated the kitchen appliances along with the mattresses. There are more updates to come in March 2022 with new sofas and the addition of a smart TV. We hope to welcome you back soon so you can experience the changes - John Bray Cornish Holiday's on behalf of the owners. Property Owner
