  • "Very nice cottage."

A few a of the pictures on the listing need to be updated, as certain areas were not accessible. But these made no difference to us. Parking is rather tight, but I have a large family saloon and got there in the end! Beds were very comfortable, but rooms could do with blackout blinds. Very, very enjoyable stay, would definitely come back.

Thank you for your feedback. We have passed your comments onto the owner to review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

Cottage was nice in a good location, close to the village and amenities, a couple of points to note, basic interior for a holiday cottage with a lack of comfort on days you had to stay in due to the uk weather, garden was lovely, and well appointed but again lacked a few basic touches, parasol and cushions, which would have been beneficial, overall a nice break and would return again

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

Perfect for a getaway from the city. A true representation of the old England, we were reminded that parts are still with us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Very friendly people .

  • "This place is a little gem."

Stayed with my daughters family and it was very suitable for a 2 year old. Very safe with a lovely secluded enclosed garden. It was away from the busy centre of Burford but within very easy walking distance. Very quiet. The cottage was beautifully presented and very well equipped. Overall a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. We will definitely be back.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time at Muffety Cottage and in the Heart of Burford! Property Owner

  • "A very nice cottage and a really excellent location, so we very much enjoyed our stay."

Would just suggest that on the information about the cottage that it's made clear the cottage is reached on a narrow lane with a very small parking spot next to a gate and with a small turning space, as was a bit tricky to park in our larger car! But other than that a very nice stay and we were just sorry we stayed in February so couldn't enjoy the garden as much as we would in the summer.

Thank you for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay at Muffety Cottage and loved the location too. We appreciate your comments regarding the parking and hope this didn't impact your stay. We would love to welcome you again in nicer weather! Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Absolutely perfect cottage!"

Private and quiet yet only a 5 minute walk from all the activity of Burford. This lovely place has all the conveniences that you will need, coupled with a parking space (which is worth its weight in gold in Burford!) and the most wonderful garden which is the perfect location for a quiet cup of tea. I highly recommend this total gem and will certainly plan to book it again for my next trip.

  • "Had a problem with shower."

Efficiently solved by team at Sykes! A lovely cottage in a good location but a few simple improvements needed in the kitchen ...... A better range of saucepan sizes , casseroles and cooking knives required. Dishwasher not useful - too small to fit dinner plates !!!! Dishwasher gunged up /dirty on arrival and much of kitchenware needed washing before use! Overall a lovely stay !

We are pleased the shower was efficently solved and apologise that you had to encounter this. We have passed the improvements onto the owner and house keeping has been addressed. We are pleased you had a lovely stay overall. Manor Cottages Property Owner

Lovely cottage with a garden. There were great facilities and we were provided with milk and tea. We had to re-wash all the dishes in the cupboard that were not clean. I would rethink the cleaning service the cottage uses.

  • "Burford is a lovely place and would suggest a visit."

This cottage had issues, particularly with cleanliness. Sykes quickly stepped in but we left early. The owner needs to be more involved to keep an eye on the cleaning standards. Compared to other cottages we have rented in the Cotswolds the facilities here are basic. The sofas in the sitting room are particularly uncomfortable. With some involvement of the owner and improved cleanliness this could be a good place to stay. One word of caution, the parking space for visitors is small so is not suitable for a large car. We drive a Honda CRV and pulling out a large car in a tiny lane is not the easiest. After making our complaint Sykes acted professionally and the owner made a small refund and apologised for the poor standard of cleanliness

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry the property was not up to the high standards we aim to provide. We shall look into all the issues raised to ensure future guests have a pleasurable experience. Property Owner

  • "Almost perfect."

Lovely picturesque cottage in quiet rural location yet less than10mins walk from Burford Hight St. Private walled garden is an added bonus. A couple of deep comfy armchairs or sofa to flop into at the end of the day would make this the perfect cottage. The existing furniture is not too comfortable for an evening in with a good book and a glass of wine.

  • "Lovely property."

Cosy, comfortable and well-maintained. Booking was easy and info provided by the host was excellent. The back door key was missing from the lockbox - therefore we didn’t have access to the garden and bins. We informed the host by email but did not have a response (it was over the Christmas period.) Overall this was not too much of an inconvenience and we would not hesitate to return.

We apologise that the back door key was not at the property. Unfortunately no communication was received regarding this issue. This has now been addressed and we look forward to the possibility of welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

About the location

BURFORD

Swinbrook 2.4 miles; Little Barrington 3.5 miles; Minster Lovell 5.6 miles.

Burford is possibly one of, if not the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, it is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located midway between Oxford and Cheltenham, it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit. The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits! With little change over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and tea shops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudeley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all within ten miles.
