  • "Lovely clean, warm holiday cottage."

I thought from the pictures it would be more overlooked, but it felt out of the way. I think I only saw any neighbours twice. It was near the town and there was plenty to do, with 2 boys (5 and 8 years). Lot of day trips which were all about a 30 minute drive.

  • "First the good points - good location."

Quiet. Close to Stratford an Cotswold villages thus limited mileage. Second - beds and sofas very comfortable, kitchen had all you need. Now the not so good and the reasons for only 4 stars. First the lighting in the sitting room is not fit for purpose if you want to anything other than watch Tv once daylight starts to diminish. I personally spend most of my evening hours reading and had to relocate to the bedroom in order to do so. Second the shower facilities are restrictive. The cubicle is small for anyone of more than average size. Also the shower over bath lacks any form of hand rails to aid getting into and out of the bath. Maybe the reference in the property details stating that it is not suitable for those with mobility issues is intended to encompass this. Finally, and probably not an owners issue, driving out of the site onto the road was tricky with visibility problems. I cut up motorists coming from the right on at least 3 occasions.

  • "Thanks for a lovely holiday in Condicote Cottage."

We found it very clean and comfortable. DVD player broken, informed Sarah, and replacement arrived next day. Good to sit outside overlooking the Cotswolds, ( little hint) get some Weedol. Overall, well situated for enjoying the area more like a home than a holiday cottage. Thanks to Sarah and her team for giving us prompt service if needed. CandC. Northumberland.

  • "Condicote is a delightful cottage, wonderful views and good for exploring the Cotswolds."

However it is let down slightly by a number of minor issues which could easily be remedied, e.g provide instructions for use of microwave and cooker; shower room needs a shelf for toiletries and a soap tray in the shower; single beds quite rickety; new mattresses needed; door handle on one of the patio doors broken; pillow protectors would be appreciated; and most of all, lack of wi-fi needs to be addressed especially as so many activities now need to be booked online. These criticisms are intended to be positive - overall we had an enjoyable holiday.

  • "First words in the property description should be CAUTION - NO WIFI!"

Dishwasher stank up the whole kitchen until I ran a few cycles. Shower drain was dry and shower room stank of sewer gas. No laundry soap. No DW soap. Had to figure out how to reprogram TV. Never did get BR TV to work. Inadequate heat and hot water until I figured out how to turn them on/off manually. Needs blackout curtains in bedrooms.

WI-FI IS NOW INSTALLED at Condicote Cottage as per our listing. If you had raised this to Sykes Cottages or myself during your stay, we would have attempted to rectify this issue for you however we received no contact. The same for any other concerns during your stay. As we are a self catering holiday accommodation, we only provide the basics and this does not always included dishwasher tablets etc. We thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Having already had two enjoyable stays at this lovely cottage, we were a bit disappointed this time."

Still no wi-fi in spite of numerous requests in the visitors book and, for the first time, we were asked to strip the beds and bundle up the laundry before leaving. I do not expect this at the prices now being charged. It seems that Covid is being used as a poor excuse for inferior service. Anyway, enough moaning. At least the weather was good!

  • "A very comfortable cottage, with good beds, 2 bathrooms, comfortable seating & ample cutlery & crockery."

The outdoor facilities were excellent with patio table & parasol. There were excellent views over the northern Cotswolds & it was only 5 minutes into Stratford upon Avon (traffic permitting!) There were lots of interesting places within a half hours drive. The only reason I have not given the property 5 stars all round is because of the lack of internet/WiFi. In this day & age all holiday properties should have WiFi. We found it very difficult to look up details of nearby attractions, particularly as the mobile signal was also poor, meaning we weren’t even able to use data on the phone for much of the time. Reading comments in the visitors’ book this was a constant comment from visitors, particularly during lockdown when many visitor attractions had to be pre booked. We did realise that there was no WiFi mentioned at the time of booking but that did not put us off &, if we visit the area again, we will be more than happy to book the property again. Maybe by then it will have WiFi! I suggest that you do make it clear in the description that there is no WiFi. Regards Ian Goldman

I suspect the cleaning is hover and light dust. It needs a in depth clean round the bathroom and kitchen ( the oven door was covered in grease it hant been cleaned in a long time). The kitchen and both bathrooms had dead wood lice on the floor cica 25. I havnt check but I suspect it want used the week before and they had built up over the week one or two did appear during the week we were there which I hovered up. we go too Stratford area twice we use this one and another on the same complex, clearly we will not be going back. It did take the shine off what was a good week . Regards John

It was situated just on the outskirts of the Cotswolds and enabled us to do lots of day trips with ease of travelling. We were on our honeymoon and live in Canada. We rented the cottage with your on line site. We found it exactly as it says on the site but much more comfy cosy that expected. Parking was ample and allowed for visitors! Although the cottages were together, there was a sense of privacy with each one. We would totally rent from you again and will recommend to anyone we know the use of a Sykes Cottage!

  • "Overall we were disappointed."

The cottage had many good features and facilities but had a slight air of neglect. There were several small but frustrating shortcomings. The deciding point for us was the absence of the umbrella/parasol to enable us to sit outside, one of the key features we identified when booking the cottage. We noted this was missing on arrival and contacted the number given. Despite a further followup text from us after two days the umbrella never appeared. Unfortunately for us, due to medical conditions, we were unable to sit outdoors; this during the hottest summer in recent years. In fact we left the accommodation and returned home a day early, on 5 July.
