  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

Very comfortable Cottage with very good facilities and provisions. The upside down layout meant lovely view over the fields. It can be a bit challenging for people with mobility issues, but the gate at the top and solid rails provided good safety. Woodburning stove and well stocked kitchen were great. The homemade scones with cream and jam on arrival were a lovely welcome. Name customer: David

Very comfortable beds, lovely touches such as toiletries, milk, scones, eggs, Prosecco and of course, the Christmas tree. Lots of useful information in the barn about barn and local area. So nice to hear and see the cows across the way, our daughter loved waking up to them. Owners we quick to answer any queries. Perfect location for exploring Devon and Cornwall. Accommodation was spot on clean comfortable and everything you need for your stay. Even though you are on a working farm it was so peaceful and interesting watching Jackie,Adrian and Bradley go about their daily lives, and if you wanted to know anything about what they do just ask. Nothing was to much trouble. Our Daughter Toni was in her element she even helped with the cows on the last day. I would actually like to score it 10 out of 5. Brilliant Thanks for a great holiday guys.

  • "Lovely barn conversion, very comfortable, especially the bed!"

It was very warm and great for our dogs to be so close to wonderful walks. Very friendly owners and we enjoyed a tour of the farm and local recommendations. The only thing we would have loved would be a car charger as it is stressful arriving after a long journey knowing you have to find somewhere that works quickly. If the charger at Tedburn St Mary had not worked we would have been really stuck!

The area is lovely, the owners were both friendly and helpful and the farm dogs are as friendly as all the other comments say. I would definitely recommend this property to others that want to stay in a farm or off the beaten track. The only thing I would say is that the enclosed garden isn't completely dog proof so if you have a smaller dog you can't just let them out in the garden unattended unless they won't be distracted by a working farm. That's only a minor thing and I am glad I chose Bowbeer. Thank you for having us

The cottage was extremely comfortable, well equipped, spotlessly clean in a beautiful location with the farm animals and birds all around. A great place for children to see the animals which were not averse to being petted. The garden is totally enclosed and great for dogs and the farm dogs are so friendly they didn't cause any bother. For walkers there are plenty of great walks nearby, Dartmoor being just down the road, and many places of interest. All in all just the place I would return to.

The owners and their son were very welcoming and friendly. They also provided us with a good supply of farm eggs and sausages which were great value. The accommodation is very homely. Our teenagers loved the dogs on the farm, all the animals and having a pond to fish in. It was a god send as when we came back from a day out, the fishing gave them something to do that didn’t involve tech. Bowbeer Farm is in a beautiful area and fairly central for visiting many places. My ownly useful tip would be some better mattresses on the twin beds. They were very hard and my daughter really struggled to sleep on hers, so ended up on the sofa for several nights. Everything else was perfect though! Thank you so much.

We are pleased you enjoyed your holiday. We have now had new mattresses on both the single beds. Property Owner

The location of the barn is perfect and it was great fun being on a working farm. The barn was very pleasant and the scones and dog treats were a lovely touch. We felt welcome and at home on the farm. Our dog enjoyed it too, but he was able to get out through the gate (under it) so we had to keep him on a lead outside as he is currently young and adventurous. The farm dogs kept him in check at times as they came into the garden. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous and services are nearby in Chagford. LOts of good local pubs for evening meals. The outdoor swimming pool in Chagford was a big hit for our family.
