"Accommodation and hosts are five star !"
! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Already booked for another week in August. Thank you, had a wonderful time.
"Really nice stay and handy for seeing relatives living in Topsham."
Nice to find a place to accept dogs as well and ours both settled well. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door thank you.
"Great property, very well maintained."
Really enjoyed our stay. If we were going to Exeter area again would definitely book again and would recommend to friends.
"A return visit here - went for the first time in late summer."
A clean well-presented property to have a relaxing break. Quiet yet readily accessible to Dartmoor and many areas in Devon.
"Lovely property, photos don’t do it justice."
Dogs loved the fully enclosed Garden. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Great base for exploring South Devon. Will definitely book again.
"The Furrow was a really lovely cottage to stay at, it has everything you need, and was clean and comfortable."
The flowers, eggs and Prosecco where a wonderful gesture. Thank you. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Devon.
"3rd time we've stay at the Furrow now and still as good as ever!"
Great location, excellent amenities inside, clean and comfortable, what more could you want from a holiday cottage. Judith and Peter are very friendly and look after everything. We will be returning I'm sure of that.
"A fantastic cottage - quite simply the best we’ve stayed in and we’ve stayed in quite a few over the years!"
A real home from home and the owner, Peter Bradley, went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, including making a special trip to replace a cafetiere which we accidentally broke so that ‘we could have our breakfast coffee!’ Highly recommend this place.
"Very comfortable cottage ."
Clean and well provided . The log burner was sealed shut and therefore unusable ...fortunately we did not need it . You should advise customers to make sure they have copious amounts of fly spray ..there we at least 10 in one of the bedrooms (yes we did have some with us predicting it was on a farm and that the windows would have been opened for airing during the pandemic . The owners were friendly and welcoming ....nice to have some eggs and a bottle of Prosecco left ( we do not drink alcohol ) but it will make a present for someone lol
"The cottage is very well equipped and furnished ..."
The cottage is very well equipped and furnished Located in a peaceful but central for exploring Owners on site and make every effort to ensure guests are happy
"Excellent stay, lovely part of the country."
Cottage kept to a high standard, very modern and clean. Peter & Judith are excellent hosts, very attentive and ensuring you have everything. Lovely gifts left in the cottage to start us off which was nice. Garden is good size and enclosed which our dogs loved. Day trips very accessible with good transport links. TV could do with updating.
"We stayed in the Furrow from 17th July to 24th July 2021 and it exceeded our expectations."
Peter and Judith the hosts could not have been more friendly or helpful and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. We would definitely return. It is in a nice village with two excellent pubs and everyone was very friendly.
"We had a super stay at The Furrow."
The house was great, very comfortable. The garden was really pretty and enclosed so suited us and our dog perfectly. The fresh flowers, eggs and Prosecco were a lovely surprise. Thankyou to Peter and Judith for ensuring we had such a good time.
"Really enjoyed our stay."
The Furrow is a comfortable, spacious rental for a family of 4 and their dog!
"High quality oak timberwork and well finished Lovely enclosed garden for dogs Lovely couple and a very enjoyable stay My wife unpacked straight away which is unusual!"
"Excellent cottage, best we had ever stayed,Judith & Peter made us very welcome, eggs, wild flowers on table."
.. Cottage very clean, spaces, and 2 bathrooms , that was a bonus! My son work and live in Exeter, had not see him for 9 months due to the lock down, we met up with him for a few walks, had BBQ after, was a great visit, the trouble is...week went by too quickly! Very recommendable cottage, love to come back again... Well done ! Judith & Peter!
"The Furrow is a delight."
Welcoming owners, who left a pretty jug of wild flowers, six eggs, and a bottle of very dry Prosecco, all of which were much appreciated. Everything was very clean. Spacious, neutral colours, good equipment and a general air of quality, not super-modern, but perfectly acceptable. The two bathrooms were well designed, with good facilities and well-lit. The heating was appreciated too, as we had cool rainy weather. The beds were very comfortable, and the sofas too. Don’t hesitate....this is a very good place to stay.
"Absolutely lovely couldn’t wish for better"
"The cottage is beautifully comfortable and well placed for exploring all that Dartmoor has to offer."
The log burner provided a cosy end to an autumn evening and we enjoyed the dark skies from the property across the countryside. Judith and Pete are most welcoming and were on hand to provide helpful advice/information if required. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends or family.
"We had a lovely stay at the Furrow."
It’s a great base with easy access to the A30 so easy to get everywhere. The Furrow is well equipped with comfortable beds and sofas, large soft towels and a lovely bath! Judith and Pete are great friendly hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
"Fantastic comfy accomodation."
Good location. Lovely people and farm.
"After visiting last year we always said we would return."
A lovely cottage with all the facilities you need in a perfect location, what's not to like about the Furrow and the hosts Judith and Peter. We knew it would be the ideal and safe getaway to relieve the stress of the current situation. Thank you for another perfect week, best regards Janet & Ian.
"The owners made us feel very welcome without impacting social distancing."
The cottage was lovely and homely, kitchen equipment was basic but assume this is related to COVID guidelines. Internet was really good, suggest upgrading to some form of TV package as this was limited. I would also suggest updating pictures as we thought a BBQ would be present as there was one in the picture but there wasn’t. Would definitely recommend as we had a lovely stay.
"Perfect Devon Cottage, friendly owners who took care of all requests."
Cottage was warm and comfortable with clean and tidy interior, lovely log fire and a bath and shower as well. Garden was great for our Scottie dog too.
"Peaceful, superb location and excellent hosts."
The cottage facilities are everything you could need, just like home on a holiday! We would definitely book this cottage again.
"Perfect peace location, ideally located for access on to A30."
very welcoming, would highly recommend.
"The barn conversion was excellent, very clean, and comfortable, it is in a good location for the most popular places to visit, nice touch when we arrived, eggs and milk in the fridge and fresh flowers on the side."
We would definitely recommend it to friends and family, may even return at some point ourselves.
"Our only criticism was we could find no outside furniture."
It was February but the weather was lovely so could have sat outside.
"Beautiful converted barn which we could not fault."
Milk eggs and fresh flowers on arrival. Lovely garden to spot various birds on the birdfeeders. Nice and quite location with friendly and helpful owners. Excellent to explore Devon. Thank you David and Judith for letting us arrive a day earlier on short notice.
"The bathroom has a leak; this has been communicated to the owners."
"The owner, Mr Peter Bradley, was there to greet us even though we were a little early."
The welcome was enhanced by milk, tea, coffee and eggs at hand and a lovely vase of flowers. The cottage is 5 star cleanliness and comfort and we all loved it. There is no dog walk at hand but Mr. B allowed us to walk the sheep fields with dog on lead when we were not exploring the wonderful local area. A book of "walks for all ages" was supplied and we made good use of it --plus Fingles Glen which he recommended. The local shop was useful for papers and most things, except wines and a supermarket is in Crediton a few miles away. Lovely facility giving an excellent base to explore Devon.
"Having stayed at the Yoke last year we returned with family and stayed at the Furrow this time."
Like it’s sister cottage it is extremely well equipped and luxuriously furnished. The cottages are in a beautiful setting and the owners are friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again!
"Very good property in a good location for exploring this area of Devon."
Only one tiny niggle and that was the absence of a drainer for the sink. There was little room to drain the dishes after they had been washed. As I say, a very small niggle. thanks for a great holiday!
"The cottage was absolutely fantastic set in an idyllic location thanks to the owners."
Both myself, my wife and our two dogs had a great week.definitely would recommend
"Beautiful cottage and the owners were lovely greeted us on arrival and welcoming gift of fresh flower fresh hen eggs from the farm and milk tea coffee and sugar much appreciated after our long drive."
The cottage was well equipped and lovely and clean. Everything we needed was there.

Tucked away on the outskirts of the pretty village of Tedburn St Mary is Great Huish Farm.
Approximately seven miles from the historic city of Exeter, this 40 acre sheep farm is just a short drive away from the north eastern edge of the Dartmoor National Park.
The original ploughman's quarters have been expertly converted from a 16th century long barn where the heavy horses were stabled, to two superb, adjoining holiday homes.
The Furrow, the larger of the two, retains much of the character of the original barn with ancient beams and sloping ceilings.
The living space is bright, airy and open plan, complete with wood burning stove and oak floors and encompasses a stylish kitchen area.
A winding staircase leads to two bedrooms, one of which has glazed doors overlooking the pony field below.
To the side of the property is a lovely secluded patio with garden furniture, this leads to a lawned garden, which is shared with its neighbour, The Yoke.
