Shame the property has been withdrawn for 2025 as we already booked it but had a refund Great location and yes you can criticise some things but for us it was great stay again Clean on arrival and we left it that way some previous guests obviously hadn’t washed pots and pans but we do our own thing anyway we had no problems and would have liked to return to the old post office

Sorry I only stayed here once. If you are yet to stay there, enjoy. Great location, all facilities catered for. My husband and I had a great time here. Relaxing and enjoying Weymouth and the surrounding area.

  • "Enjoyed our stay at the Old Post Office."

Good value for money, very spacious ,parking space and short walk to harbour and town is a bonus. Good do with a bit of modernisation and few improvements to make it perfect. Could do with curtains in the bedroom and lounge back door for privacy. Shower awkwardly placed and no shelves or hooks. A small dishwasher would also be a plus. Upstairs radiators both need air bleeding out as never really got warm so wouldn't like to be there when it's cold

  • "It's a good rental property, close to all the amenities of Weymouth."

The property itself is clean and tidy and serves its purpose. It has all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay with the bonus of off road parking. It is a pity that the owner has decided to take it off the rental market from 2025 onwards as I have enjoyed all my stays there over the past 5+ years, up to two per year. Looking forward to returning again in November for the final time.

  • "Well located for exploring Weymouth and the associated area."

Fine for 2 adults but only suitable for 4 if they are young family. Absolutely no way 2 cars could park on the parking apron...not big enough and tight entrance for my Skoda estate. Best shower in any property rented through Sykes in over 10 years. Stairs need caution edging strip..would be difficult for visually impaired. Why provide cheap toilet paper...false economy your renters just double it up and use twice as much!

  • "The cottage was clean and well equipped."

Bath sheet rather towels were great. Down stair toilet was a big plus as we did struggle with steep stairs. The cottage was great for two or even three but four may a bit small. Parking was ok for one car a bit tight for two. A light sensor out side would help there is a light but needs turning o if your out all day and come back in the dark it is very difficult. The biggest problem we found was traffic noise and sadly not a lot can be done about that. I think we would stay here again.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay, the property is a short walk away from the harbour."

There is road noise but this is to be expected due to the location. The parking was very convenient and there is just about room for 2 cars but the bush did make it difficult. The patio was great and got the sun in the afternoon and evening, there was plenty of seating and a parasol. The property is all open plan so TV noise etc from the lounge can be heard in the bedroom, overall a great property in an ideal location.

Due to it's being in Weymouth it was on a fairly busy road. If you want to be near to everything then this is the compromise.

  • "The large bush where you park you car needs to be seriously cut back as at the moment you can only just get one car on there and not two."

The layout of the living area could be better arranged with the sofa's at right angles to the radiator therefore letting heat into the living space, at the moment the large sofa blocks any heat. Within about 30mins of moving it round the whole of the downstairs area was warm and cosy. There was a lot of dust and rubbish under the sofa's also under the bed which you could see when going up the stairs.

Thank you for your feedback. I will be checking up on cleaning and gardening with Dream Cottages so these problems will be dealt with. Property Owner

The throws on the sofa and cushions smelt?. When we went upstairs to put are cases down the whole upstairs smelt like body odour couldn't get rid of the smell? The downstairs toilet has holes in the Walls? And it looks like there has been a leak as the ceiling is stained. It didn't smell like it had been cleaned.. The furniture was shabby and stained dirt going up the stairs. We paid over 700 pound for this holiday was very let down won't be staying again

This is our third stay at The Old Post Office and it definitely won't be our last. It's extremely comfortable and cosy, a real home from home. As usual the cleaning staff had left the property spotless. The seating area only adds to its quality as it's not overlooked and lets light in making the place bright and airy. Extremely well equipped with a great shower also. It's set in a peaceful neighbourhood near local shops and takeaways and only a very short walk to the harbour. Can't wait to visit again.

Nice patio area with lots of late afternoon sunshine but could do with a power wash and furniture treatment to preserve. No evidence of clothes pegs to hang up washing online. Our TV need an arial cable fixed, and was attended to quickly, but a speed test showed only 1GB - normally 20GB plus. The best thing about the old post office is the proximity to the harbour, shops, town and beach. The property is warm. It didn't meet our expectations because it needs a lot of time and money spending on it. There has been a water leak with paper coming off and a damp patch. The decor is old and outdated. The rooms are too cluttered with oddments of furniture with handles missing. It could be made really nice. We give this property a 2 star rating as it does not meet the standards of a 3 star.

Arrived 90 mins early and was ok to park on property so we could look around while the cleaner finished. Nothing out of place and all electrical appliances had great manuals to follow so no problem working anything. Upstairs toilet acquired a small leak, after reporting it to Dreams it was fixed within 24 hours. Caused no problem for us but showed how committed Dreams were to making our stay hassle free. It was only a 10 min walk to the harbour which once there easy access to all amenities. Would be happy to recommend to anyone.

  • "Great location, only a few hundred yards from the Old Harbour South."

The property has character and is spacious and comfortable downstairs with a good sized dining table, settees and a decent kitchen. The downstairs tv is difficult to turn on but we found that if you persevere it works ok. Nice shower upstairs next to a good sized bedroom. A few areas need attention - the upstairs toilet seat is wobbly and needs fixing, some serious dusting is needed above eye level in the bedroom which you notice when you lie on the bed and look upwards, the lampshades and the skirting around the ceiling were thick with dust, and lastly the upstairs tv... when you switch it off it comes back on again on its own so you have to turn it off at the mains every time. The outside table does not look terribly appetising and it would be good to have a table cloth to cover it before eating off it. The parking space is right next to the back door, off road and secluded. All in all we enjoyed our stay but a bit more care and attention would improve the appeal of The Old Post Office.

Just 10 minutes walk into the centre was ideal. It had all essentials and was roomy. We felt however, that it could have been cleaner. The bathroom, toilet and kitchen were clean as was the bedding. However, cushions and throws did not smell fresh. The tea towel in the kitchen smelt foul so we used kitchen roll. The tv downstairs was only working for dvds which we didn’t want so we had to use the upstairs tv. Also, approaching the Old Post Office we were surprised at the amount of weeds climbing the walls. A few hours work could have much improved the setting for the summer season. We were reasonably happy with it but wouldn’t return.

A lovely little place to cater for a couple or small family. Nearby to Brewers Quay and the Harbour meant we could leave the car parked on the drive and not worry about the towns notorious parking dilemmas. The property was an excellent base. Comfy bed, ( no bedroom as such, the bed was situated at the top of an open wooden staircase that also housed bunk beds) adequately equipped kitchen & spacious living area allowed us to relax and unwind after days out and the close proximity to town meant we usually went back out to stroll later on during the evening. Thoroughly recommend this property to small parties of 2 adults with a couple of kids under 10. Stayed June 2016
