"Very comfortable property in a pretty little village with dog safe garden."
Excellent butcher, with two small shops and two pubs one of which does very good food but only on certain nights. Found the locals to be very friendly and helpful. Parking off the main road as is the property so a peaceful stay. Great base to explore the area.
-
"We have stayed here a few times now and will definitely return."
We feel so comfortable here and includes a super welcome pack.We don't venture out much, just chill in the cottage ,conservatory and garden.Even the dog likes his visits to the two friendly village pubs.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."
The dogs loved the garden and the fusses from the neighbour. The bread, milk eggs and fizz were all very welcome on arrival.
-
"There was a lovely welcome pack when we arrived including a bottle of Prosecco which was much appreciated."
The garden is beautiful and enclosed and is ideal if you have a four legged friend with you. the property was lovely and clean. The property is also really well equipped. The location is ideal for visiting Colchester, Flatford and the surrounding area. I would highly recommend a stay here.
-
"We had a lovely stay and were lucky with the weather."
The garden is really good for keeping the dog enclosed so we could relax. The welcome pack was generous and I particularly liked the addition of flowers. The towels are rough, fortunately I brought my own having encountered this at other cottages. Boxford is a lovely village and the village shops stocked everything we needed. We would definitely like to return as it is a good base for visiting family in Colchester and also for exploring other pretty villages countryside.
-
"This was our sixth visit to this property and we still love it just as much as the first visit."
Charming setting and host who makes you feel so welcome. The village is very friendly and they make you feel you have always lived there. Look forward to returning again some day.

"Lovely bungalow, really enjoyed our week there, hope too come back next year"
-
"Lovely bungalow stayed many times and will stay again my dogs love the garden and lovely walks"
-
"The Bungalow was perfectly situated for a walk round the small village with walking routes close by, We would like to thank Val the owner for a fantastic array of food in the welcome pack, the Fresh loaf from the baker was very tasty, as we took some dinners ourselves we didn’t have to do any food shopping, which gave us more time to relax, my wife just lived in the conservatory looking out into the garden which our dogs loved."
All in all a great week in a great location.
-
"Lovely, well equipped bungalow in an excellent location."
It was great to have the conservatory to sit in and watch the bird life on the days when the weather was cold and wet. Well positioned to visit the many interesting places in this part of Suffolk.
-
"The bungalow was very spacious and well equipped."
The garden is excellent and closed in,very suitable for our little dogs. The shower unfolds not clean(I did my best but needs re tiling/grouting).The kettle was quite dangerous as when pouring it leaked badly.
-
"Lovely comfortable stay great garden for dogs."
Lovely hamper waiting on arrival just what’s needed thank you
-
"Absolutely perfect."
The garden was just the right size and it was lovely to sit and watch the squirrels play from the conservatory. All the rooms were a good size, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The welcome back was out of this world, and certainly did make us feel welcome!

"Had a lovely time at 27 swan street."
Cottage was clean, warm and everything was there what we needed. Good value for the money.
-
"Boxford is a pretty village with lots of character and graded properties, Swan street, itself is a long and fairly busy road."
It has 2 stores including post office, 2 pubs and a nice friendly cafe. The property is a good size especially the main bedroom. When we arrived Val had left us bread, milk, wine, cheese, butter and bottled water, which was very generous and kind. The kitchen is quite modern and includes washing machine and dishwasher, which was nice. We walked into the living room and it smelt of dog, no where else did and it was very off putting, and then I realised it was the sofa covers, they obviously had not been washed between visitors, I removed them and put them in a bag in the airing cupboard, instantly the smell was gone. The bathroom, looked like it had not been cleaned at all, the floor was unswept and dirty, the shower was covered in dog hairs on the base and all around it and also all around the pedestal of the toilet, underneath the toilet where it is not covered in was loads of cobwebs. There was lots of mould all around the doors of the shower and on the runners, it wasn't nice, it took me a good 2 hours to clean it all up before I even thought of using it. Val had left a note saying if there were any problems to contact her, but to be honest, we didn't want someone coming in to clean all the bathroom, while we were there, I didn't notice it until quite late that evening, so it would mean waiting for someone to come in the next morning before we showered and got ready and I didn't want the disruption, so I just cleaned it myself. There was a lot of cobwebs on the sky lights and skirting, pictures etc which I got rid of using the long handled duster. Everything else was fine, the bedrooms, the bed linen, we were happy with. Although the white towels were too rough for my taste. There was a mish mash of styles but it was comfortable and very warm and we really liked sitting in the conservatory looking out into the garden. Boxford is centrally located to many nearby attractions and places to visit.

"For an accessible bungalow, the car parking was 20ft away - to walk over uneven concrete leaves a lot to be desired."
then to walk up 4 steps to the front door, where the handle on the wall was actually loose due to missing screws. I went for this cottage as i always go for accessible ones, as my husband has difficulty in walking far, let alone up steps. the bathroom shower, was not accessible to him, nor was there any help in safety handles, chair etc.

"This is an excellent holiday cottage in a lovely village."
It was warm, welcoming and very comfortable, really well equipped, with a superb welcome pack. The garden is totally secure, excellent for dogs or children.
-
"Our fifth stay and love the cottage it is almosr like home from home to us."
Always clean and tidy with furniture well maintained, The village is so friendly and make you so very welcome
-
"We had a lovely week."
The cottage was comfortable with everything we needed. The garden was lovely and safe for the dogs. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. The village is beautiful with local shops where you can get essentials, a lovely café, and a couple of pubs, there are several walks nearby, and the surrounding areas are beautiful. We are have already booked to go back again.
-
"Thank you for a lovely stay."
The cottage was very comfortable and dog friendly. In a pretty village with a super butchers.
-
"This was our 5th stay here and we've already booked for next June."
We just feel so incredibly comfortable here. Also Boxford is a friendly village and has everything you need. The welcome packs are always very good with milk, eggs, bread, cheese, prosecco, and even treats for the dog. He's getting on a bit now,but he loves it here and settles very quickly which is important for us.Could'nt recommend this cottage any higher.

"This is one of our favourite holiday cottages."
Set in the centre of a lovely village, it has two pubs and two village shops, as well as a nice coffee shop, within a few minutes walk. The cottage is single storey - which suits Georgie, our small dachshund, who finds stairs a bit difficult - and has good sized rooms with a lovely south facing conservatory and medium sized sheltered and dog-proof garden which allows us to just open the conservatory door and let Georgie come and go. It has a designated parking space which needs a bit of care to access by reversing down a driveway. The parking space is a generous size but is bounded on one side by a drop where a wall (next door’s?) has collapsed necessitating a little care to avoid the, admittedly small, risk of a wheel going over the edge which would be quite catastrophic with difficult extraction. The only real downsides are the access to parking, as mentioned, dim lighting throughout making reading difficult at night, and a TV which is a bit small for the room, making viewing difficult for older eyes like ours. Reading problems would be easily remedied by provision of a reading light or standard lamp in the lounge, whilst a larger TV would be welcome. It is good to see photovoltaic panels on the roof, thus enhancing the properties green credentials. To summarise, this is a modern comfortable property in a delightful part of England, near many interesting and characterful towns and villages; there is easy access to dog walks. Having stayed before, the property and surroundings felt familiar and homely and Georgie was very happy there!

"I had a lovely relaxing week in this cottage."
The village was quiet but had two local stores, a post office, a café, two pubs and a church all within touching distance. I spent every day sitting in the conservatory doing needlework or taking the dog for a walk. The local walks from the cottage were good - I especially liked the footpath across the field from the playing fields with the wild flower borders I have given this five stars all round because I enjoyed my week and because it was very dog friendly - dog towels and toys provided, and throws over the furniture (although I took my own). There was even a packet of dog treats in the welcome pack - a nice gesture and the milk, bread, eggs, cheese and butter were very welcome (not to mention the prosecco!). It was like living in someone's home for a week - the kitchen was well stocked with equipment although I found the oven a bit tricky to use and I never managed to make the dishwasher turn on. There was a pack of instruction leaflets but the dishwasher one was missing (just diagrams of how to load it). The conservatory could have done with a bead curtain for when the doors were open - I spent a lot of time trying to help trapped bees and butterflies get out and dealing with wasps. But this is a minor point. The garden is brilliant for dogs - very secure. The parking IS tight, especially for an estate car. I was lucky enough not to have to use the car during the week so could position it when the other spaces weren't occupied and then leave it. There are helpful instructions when you get inside, but perhaps knowing that it is recommended to reverse in from the road could be useful when one first arrives. I would definitely recommend this property and hope one day to return.

"This cottage is a hidden gem."
Just off the Main Street, it is quiet and peaceful but just a short walk from the shops and cafe. The area has many walks and lovely places to visit, many of them dog-friendly. The cottage is well equipped and the owner provided a very generous welcome pack for us and our dog.
-
"Our 2nd visit to Swan Street and still as good as the first visit."
Everything you could hope for is supplied,a lovely enclosed garden which means you don't have to worry when your dog is out there alone. Hopefully visiting again next year.
-
"This was our fourth stay here and we love it more each time."
It is such a lovely welcoming cottage to stay in with always a wonderful welcome pack. Very comfortable and well maintained. It was too hot to go out much so we sat around in the lovely little garden with all the scents of the roses. Can't wait to return.
-
"The cottage was extremely comfortable."
Very private and quiet cosidering you were literally just off the street.Garden all enclosed perfect for our dog.The owner had been Very generous leaving a wonderful selection of goodies including a bottle of wine and even treats for our dog.So often we holiday in cottages where not even a bottle of milk is left.So many thanks. The village itself is very well served having 2 shops one very well stocked ,a butcher where bread can also be purchased.2 pubs both dog friendly. The only negative which was such a shame were the towels which were rock hard.I would recommend taking your own towels which if we visit again we will do.All in all top marks
-
"Warm, comfortable and well equipped."
Welcome pack was the icing on the cake. Felt instantly at home upon our arrival. Ideal garden for dog owners. Only downside is that some of the appliance - oven & dishwasher are not instinctive. From how well thumbed the pack of instructions leaflets was, we weren't the first to scratch our heads. But that's a minor quibble: great location, very comfortable and the best recommendation of all - we'll be back!
-
"Good accommodation in a lovely village."
Welcome gifts of wine, cheese, butter, bread and milk very much appreciated. However, there was a note explaining that two vacuum cleaners had stopped working when the cottage was being cleaned, which meant there was still evidence of dog hair on the rugs; a pity, as everything else was clean. The parking space wasn’t easy for an estate car to get into and out of when cars were parked in the other spaces. Sykes messed up my original booking, so may not use again.
-
"We had a lovely stay at 27 Swan Street."
Very comfortable and everything you would need in a self catering cottage. Boxford is a great place to stay with good walks from the doorstep. I would highly recommend and would love to return. Many thanks
-
"Fab place, really dog friendly not just dog tolerant."
Home from home, would visit again
-
"Nicely presented and a welcome pack and also for our dog."
Also provided dog towels treats and balls. Garden secure and dog safe. Situated in a nice area of a very attractive village. Parking is adequate. Overall the stay was suitable for our short stay and lived up to our expectations. Boxford is an ideal location for visiting Suffolk.
-
"Nice little cottage, plenty of room for 4 people and the owner had left us a welcome package which was a lovely surprise."
No huge manual full of dos and donts it was all just very straight forward. 2 local pubs, couple of shops and a parking space made it just right for a family weekend exploring Suffolk.
-
"Lovely cottage to stay home from home, would definitely stay again, nice village, and the welcome pack is to die for thankyou."
-
"Cottage was exactly as shown."
Had everything one would need and more. A very welcoming detail was having all the necessary groceries, especially those arriving from outside the UK. Especially nice thought was the bottle of prosecco. All very much appreciated. Would most definitely stay here again, when the option to be in Suffolk. Contact with the owner was also excellent. Thank you for that too!
-
"The property was lovely."
It was well equipped, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend it.
-
"This was our third stay here and can't wait to return next June."
It is such a lovely property in perfect location and a very friendly village. Everything is there for you and the beds are so comfortable. There are lovely walks around and lots to see nearby.
-
"This was our 4th visit and certainly won't be our last."
The cottage has everything we need, but mainly we just feel very comfortable staying there. The village is very friendly as is the local dog friendly pub.The lovely welcome pack is also very much appreciated.
-
"Lovely cottage, very clean, very well equipped."
Excellent secure garden which was great for my dog. Very kind owner that left us some wonderful welcome gifts. Fantastic holiday cottage, would highly recommend x
-
"This very pleasant cottage is well-situated in the centre of an attractive village, a short stroll from shops and a friendly pub that welcomes dogs."
The view of the illuminated church spire from the garden of the cottage is most impressive. The cottage is comfortable furnished, and included a comprehensive welcome pack of milk, eggs, bread, butter and fizz. Our dog enjoyed the garden, which is walled and fenced off effectively. Local excursions that we would recommend include Sutton Hoo (where the new viewing platform is now open), Lavenham and Dunwich. The pubs at Clare (The Swan) and Cavendish (Five Bells) served excellent lunches. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in this cottage.
-
"Patio needed weeding and a sweep , patio furniture needs a wash."
the information on were to visit needs updating the pamphlets are out of date. but all in all nice cottage pleasant stay thanks Val for everything
-
"Cottage was really well equiped, with all cooking equipment needed to prepare any meal."
Supplies provided for our arrival were fabulous- even a bottle of cold wine & ice cream
-
"This was our second stay here and look forward to many more as this is such a lovely special place and you are made to feel so welcome."
The village is so friendly and they make you feel that you belong there too.
-
"The cottage, garden and village was wonderful like a home from home."
The welcome pack and flowers were a lovely surprise after a five hour journey in the rain! Hope to revise in the near future.
-
"We have had the best break we have ever had!"
Totally wonderful. Beautiful cottage, lovely area and lovely and friendly people we are definitely returning. Loved the welcome pack. Didn't want to go home. Thankyou
-
"Good to be able to book accommodation on one level."
Well equipped kitchen. A bonus to have such a comfortable bed. Great view of the illuminated church spire from the conservatory. Hope to return in the summer to enjoy the garden.
-
"This was our first and we certainly hope not last visit."
We have felt so at home here that we didn't want to leave. With one of our party disabled it was perfect for them and the shower was so safe. It is a very friendly village with everyone so helpful.
-
"Comfortable cottage with secure garden for our dog."
Lovely welcome pack.
-
"The Bungalow was in a good location iin the village."
It felt spacious and comfortable. The shower room tiles need some attention but everything else was fine. The owner had left a lovely crusty loaf in the bread bin and a bottle of Prosecco in fridge which was lovely. The garden was perfect for 2 dogs and there were dog towels and treats also. The thing I really loved was the view of the illuminated church Spire at night. Just beautiful. Had a nice meal in the pub and everyone seemed friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

"The on line description of the property is incorrect."
It states the property has a shower but the picture of the bathroom shows a bath. I telephoned your company before the holiday to clarify this and was told it had a bath not a shower. As one of our party has mobility issues we nearly cancelled the booking but could find nowhere else to stay in our chosen area. However when we arrived it had a SHOWER so we were pleasantly surprised. I mentioned this discrepancy to the owner as I felt she could lose bookings. As the property is all on one level it is attractive to people with mobility issues. She said she had already asked Sykes to alter the website description but it had not been attended tod. Otherwise the property had excellent facilities. The owner had thought of everything and provided a welcome pack over and above anything we had experienced, The beds were very comfortable as was the seating in the lounge and conservatory, which was also a bonus. All in all, a great property which we would love to return to.
-
"The Property has all it professes to have and is set in a very pretty Village."
The Welcome Pack was excellent. As dog owners we needed a secure garden which this also had. Unfortunately there were several issues that spoilt the experience in its entirety and in actual fact we vacated the premises a day early on the 23rd. The location is not really on Swan Street it’s off Swan Street down a quite narrow alley. The parking spot existed but if the other shared spots are occupied it’s quite difficult to use. The bed in the property was very firm and I especially struggled to sleep properly. The cleanliness also was not of the standard I would have expected especially with the current Covid scenario .At first glance it’s fine and there were plenty of disinfectant methods available, and then you see the multitude of small things that were missed and could have been cleaned better imo . The light pull cord is especially awful in the bathroom and it would be so easy to replace with new. The toilet seat still is not fixed solidly even though it has been mentioned several times before in feedback. It’s a shame because with a little bit of extra attention this location would have got a five star rating . Unlike previous stayers we would not like to return our standards are obviously different from that required by others.

"Our third visit to this wonderful cottage."
Great to be back. Love the new fences - 9 foot on one side, 8 foot to the back of the garden & then the brick wall on side 3. So secure for even the larger doggies with wanderlust like our Huskies. New bathroom with power shower - excellent. Our Huskies treat this lovely cottage as a home from home, totally relaxed and comfortable from the minute they arrive. The local people are so friendly, everyone says hello & the local shops have everything you could need. The Butcher, just a few doors up from the Cottage is a must visit. The property itself - immaculate, modern, comfortable and having a westerly facing garden you get the last of the sun each evening. We will be booking our fourth visit.
-
"This was our 3rd visit to this property and we had another wonderful holiday."
This property is ideal for our needs and the village has everything as well.A very nice welcome pack was much appreciated.
-
"27 swan street is in a lovely quite location in a beautiful village."
however inside its not up to sykes normal standard. The hall, kitchen, sittingroom and conservatory carpets are very dirty and badly need a professional clean. Towels are hard and rough and very poor quality. mis - matched odd cutlary. Duvets and pillows are very poor quality. No soup bowls, cereal bowls and dessert bowls. Its such a shame as the property is in a lovely location. Also internet details need updating needs updating as its shows a bath when its a shower
-
"It would have helped if we had been aware that the property is actually situated on a main road through the village and not as the photograph presents it ."
However we did like it ,enjoyed our stay ,would recommend it and would like to stay there again sometime
-
"Lovely bungalow in a beautiful village, being able to walk to the village and pub was a bonus."
The bungalow had everything we needed, was comfortable with a lovely garden. Just one little complaint the toilet seat is very wobbly, and as one of our party is waiting for a hip op it was a little scary. Otherwise nothing to complain about. We will hopefully return.
-
"Been to this bungalow before."
Well situated, lovely area with good walks nearby and an excellent enclosed garden.Valerie does an outstanding welcome pack and there's everything you need in the bungalow,We are both disabled but no problems.Great improvements in the bathroom this time, although the wonkey toilet
-
"This was a lovely holiday venue."
If you have dogs the garden was great. Totally secure and this is one of the most important things for us. Location was good and a lovely quiet area. The owner was very helpful and left us a wonderful welcome pack on arrival. All ground floor and very comfortable. We had an excellent break.

The location is fantastic the village should be awarded for being the friendliest in England cottage clean comfortable and very dog friendly
-
"Very dificult to find down a side lane of Swan Street."
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage and warm conservatory."
-
"Great cottage close to the centre of Boxford."
Warm and comfortable; lovely welcome pack waiting on arrival, everything you need really. Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Pub in the centre of Village very nice food in Nice surroundings. Good view of the Church Spire from the cottage hence the name, Spire Cottage. Convenience store a few hundred yards. Thank you to the owners for a great stay. You must visit Lavenham and Flatford Mill (Constable's Hay Wain), beautiful.
-
"Fantastic location."
truly dog friendly. the best equipped kitchen ever, quiet. comfy beds. good quality furniture. fast wifi. very cosy and warm. Loved the sky lights too as they gave extra light for reading! We really loved staying here and would recommend
-
"The welcome pack provided was excellent, including milk, butter, bread, cheese, eggs, and wine."
A nice start to the stay, thank you Valerie. The only concern was the toilet seat which didn't fit properly and kept coming away from the the toilet base.
-
"The cottage was lovely , exactly as we expected."
The enclosed garden was excellent for the dogs. The welcome bits were nice especially the Prosecco ! The local pub was a few minutes walk, very nice and friendly. Would definitely recommend
-
"Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area of the country."
A lovely welcome pack, with milk butter, cheese, wine and fresh flowers.
-
"The cottage felt warm and homely."
The enclosed garden and church view are lovely. The welcome pack and dog resources were really appreciated. The village is charming and the location of the cottage is excellent.A perfect getaway.Thank you.
-
"Good size for a family of four, central location in Boxford with shops, restaurant and tea room in immediate vicinity."
Nice extension to living room with garden and sky view. Relatively large back garden, private parking and fast WiFi. Well equipped and great welcome package with cake, Prosecco, bread, cheese and more. Water temperature in shower is difficult to control with either being too hot or too cold. Carpet in the kitchen is odd and replacement with PVC laminate or similar would nicely fit with the new kitchen.
-
"We loved the bungalow, From opening the door, We were really pleased to find the Bungalow was so warm and cosy, Really lovely welcome package, Loved the Homemade cake, Bottle of Prosecco already chilled, As we stayed Christmas week, We loved the Decorations and the conservatory looked so pretty, Everything we needed was there, Thank you ."

"After an 8 hour car journey almost completely in rain we arrived to find this really lovely cottage."
It was easy to find, warm and there was a freshly made Victoria sandwich cake, fresh bread and eggs, cheese and a bottle of wine. The cottage was also adequately supplied with tea and coffee and fresh milk. Everything we required so we could just relax. If there was one drawback I would have preferred a washing machine instead of a dishwasher. However, this did not in any way spoil our stay.
-
"The accommodation was excellent."
The rooms were spacious and provided a homely and comfortable setting. The enclosed garden was very much appreciated by our dogs, as well as ourselves. Every need was provided for. There was welcome set of items to exceed our expectations, including bread, butter, cheese and eggs, as well as wine and a home made cake. There was a bunch of flowers in the sitting room. The village and surroundings are lovely and the Fleece pub is welcoming with good food and friendly staff and customers. We could not have asked for more.
-
"We were not expecting there to be a generous welcome food pack for us with a lovely home made cake."
This may be the fault of my husband who made the booking who didn't tell me. Unfortunately we brought the basic food ourselves and as our visit was to attend a large family weekend we didn't spend too much time there, but we managed the prosecco so Thankyou we had a lovely comfortable stay
-
"The location and the friendliness of the village Accommodation was very comfortable excellent welcome pack"
-
"The cottage was fantastic very comfortable and well provided for, except the lack of a washing machine, this could have replaced the dishwasher that was there ."
This was a minor thing but would have helped on a very wet Sunday The cottage was perfectly positioned to be able to get to places like Frinton-On-Sea to Bury St Edmunds The village was also one of the most friendly we have been to, and if you have dogs ,want good food and company then a visit to the Fleece Hotel is a must, the landlord Aran makes you fill most welcome.
-
"Second time at this cottage and just as enjoyable as the first."
-
"The comprehensive welcome pack was excellent, including the home make cake and fresh eggs."
Throughout the cottage was very well equipped and comfortable and the garden was lovely. The only criticisms are the bathroom and parking. In the bathroom the handbasin was very, very small and shallow and the loo seat had a mind of its own. Parking in the allocated bay was impractical except for a very small car. However on street parking was fairly easy. The local pub, The Fleece, was excellent and served delicious food and was dog friendly.
-
"Valirie's bungalow was absolutely lovely."
The 3 of us and 2 dog's had a really relaxing holiday.I could have taken the bed home,so comfy. The bungalow was in a lovely position, and the garden and surrounding walks were brilliant, such a peaceful part of the country.I would definitely recommend.Only draw back their wasn't a going away cake as well as a welcome one so yummy !
-
"Parking is difficult if you have a large car."
-
"The owner provides a lovely welcome pack, home made cake, bread, butter, cheese, milk, prosecco, which is very generous."
I forgot to leave a note of thanks & write in the visitors book as we had to leave the property on Thursday to make an unexpected appointment at home early on Friday. Boxford is very quaint & very quiet indeed, handy to have two shops a few doors away. The Fleece pub in the village is ok, but better is the Fox & Hounds a lovely walk through the corn field (good footpath !) to Groton, small unspoilt country pub with very reasonably priced menu and even sells ice creams for the walk back ! We returned rested.
-
"We had a great week and were so pleased to find that the garden truly was totally enclosed allowing our dog to roam with no possibility of getting out."
So often the gardens are advertised as completely enclosed but turn out not to be. The garden was lovely to relax in and we had the best weather we have ever had on holiday.to enjoy it. There were two minor issues in that the place was infested with flies. we have no idea were they came from but a can of spray put that right. Also, we found good walks for the dog but we were not confident in getting to some walks because to get to the footpaths, which relied on walking on a fairly busy road with no pavement and a rather frisky dog . However, that was just us, others may not find that a problem.
-
"Yes lovely cottage and wonderful welcome pack especially the home cake - all ..."
Yes lovely cottage and wonderful welcome pack especially the home cake - all instructions for keys etc were absolutely fine we would definitely recommend to others
-
"All mostly very good, the bathroom wasn't really up to standards of the rest of the cottage (but everything worked) and the cooker/hob looked brand new but was a high-tech nightmare to operate (maybe that's why it looks brand new)."
...! Cottage was very dog friendly with a good safe garden and the big conservatory was excellent. Nice welcome pack, comfy beds and a great pub 15mins walk up the road. Overall would definitely recommend it.
-
"We returned home today and by 5pm we have booked again!"
Fantastic property.
-
"Lovely stay at this cottage in a quiet location."
The conservatory was so relaxing to read in with a cup of tea, and the cottage generally had all the facilities you would need, we really couldn’t ask for more. I agree with other other reviewers the water pressure is a bit low and it took a few minutes to work out the buttons on the oven but this certainly didn’t spoil our holiday. The cottage has is its own designated parking spot, when we arrived at night it was a little tricky to park our estate but we soon got used to it during our stay. Definitely would consider going back.
-
"An excellent little cottage in a quiet and secluded position close to the centre of an attractive village ."
Comfortable and pet friendly . Hope to return .
-
"Lovely holiday."
Best welcome pack we've ever received - very thoughtful. Really nice cottage, everything we needed. Just a couple of negatives: Hot water pressure very poor. Parking difficult and would be a real issue if you have a big car.
-
"This was a lovely roomy ,clean and warm cottage in a lovely village that was in the middle of a lot of interesting places."
The furthest we had to travel from the cottage was 19 miles. The garden was safe and large enough for our 3 dogs. The welcome pack was second to none ,excellent ,and so well thought out, and very much Appreciated. Good dogs walks from the cottage, and a lovely one to Flatford alongside the river.( do not miss that one).we drove to Dedham ,parked there and then walked to Flatford. The owner was nearby if needed ,but never bothered you if not. Highly recommend this cottage . Kay and John. Lincolnshire.

"We throughly enjoyed our stay through the New Year in our accommodation."
We have family and friends in Colchester and entertained all of them in our cottage during our stay. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped. The living areas are bright, spacious and cosy in the evenings. The festive Christmas decorations were unexpected and beautiful. The bedrooms are HUGE and tastefully furnished. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable too. Our two beagles Oscar and Olive loved their stay too. There are many wonderful walks a short distance from the property. Their favourite walk was the woods and river trail. We also visited West Mersea and walked all morning along the beach. We highly recommend this property. It was a perfect base for us.
-
"The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable."
Only quibble was the complicated equipment. The cooker and hob were very difficult to work out how to use and the microwave kept stopping after only a few seconds so was a bit annoying. Otherwise we had a great time. We were warm and happy and had a lovely Xmas there. The welcome pack was excellent and exceeded expectations. The owner had worked hard to make the cottage Christmassy.
-
"Such a lovely cottage, Very cozy, love Y to be able to take your dogs, enclos d garden for them too."
, heating fabulous and instant. Everything you could ask for and supplied. Welcome pack is amazing too Well worth a visit and will return Down side , side gate opens the wrong way so you fall off the pavement and would benefit being a solid gate too.
-
"We had a fantastic break."
It was lovely to be able to take our dogs with us. The cottage was in a beautiful location, and the cottage itself exceeded our expectations. We had a welcome pack on arrival. We wanted for nothing.

"This lovely cottage in Boxford, Surrey had everything we needed for a very relaxing holiday."
We arrived after a long journey to find a wonderful welcome pack waiting for us and the cottage was lovely and warm. The large secure garden was perfect for our Golden Retriever and we enjoyed sitting in the conservatory especially in the amazing rocking chair! The village itself was within walking distance and had its own shop and plenty of places to walk. Boxford is ideally placed for visiting many dog friendly places so we would definitely recommend it.

"The cottage had a lovely homely feel, bright and airy."
Liked having easy-care carpets throughout especially to stop the dog slipping. Excellent welcome pack. Would have liked garden chairs and, as everyone says, a "normal" basin in the bathroom! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thought it was good value for money.
-
"The cottage was as advertised and the welcome package was a lovely added extra, a real personal touch that made us feel immediately at home."
The only downside to our stay was the renovation work next door which started early each day, waking us at dawn and upsetting the dogs.
-
"Super welcome pack."
Cottage quiet, and peaceful.Very spacious and well equipped.Very nice friendly village. All in all a very pleasant week and would definitely return.
-
"The property was very welcoming, light and airy and very comfortable."
The welcome pack of homemade cake, wine, milk, bread etc was a lovely surprise. Myself, husband and my Mother-in-Law plus my 2 dogs had a lovely stay, Libby and Ana (the doggies) loved the welcome treats and loved playing in the garden. In short a lovely time was had by all and very sad to leave and hopefully will come back for another stay. Would recommend this property.
-
"The bungalow was very comfortable and very dog friendly."
Perfect location in the village with all the amenities you need including 3 pubs which all served food and 2 of which were dog friendly. The only downside to the property was the hot water pressure, but this is not a complaint. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need and the best welcome pack we have ever had in a very pretty area

". The cottage was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The owner left a very generous Welcome Pack and although the weather left a lot to be desired we could just sit back in the conservatory and enjoy watching the many different species of birds visiting the garden"
.Once again we had a very relaxing and peaceful holiday, we have been before and plan to return
-
"It was like home from home with every piece of equipment in the kitchen that we could have needed."
The welcome pack was second to none with home made bread and rolls, butter, cheese, milk, fresh eggs, a home made cake and a bottle of Prosecco apart from tea, coffee and sugar. We would definately recommend this cottage to anyone and everyone. The local Fleece Hotel does the most fantastic food, we ate there more than once and we could take our dog there too. All in all it was one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

-
"The cottage was clean, warm and very well equipped."
All consumables were provided and the welcome pack was amazing (including wine and a lovely home made cake). It was only a short walk to the village pubs, shop, and nice country walks, plus it was ideal for visiting local areas. We would highly recommend this cottage.

"Absolutely loved our stay."
Attention to detail was fantastic. Homemade cake and a bottle of champagne (we were staying for New Year) were left for us as well as a pack of dog treats. Such a nice touch. And the fresh eggs were delicious! Lovely location in the centre of the village but away from the road so quiet and safe for the dog. If I were to be picky - only one thing would have made it Perfect - a more comfortable mattress or a mattress topper. The one on the bed was a bit too firm for me - but I realise this is a personal preference.

"Fantastic cottage, warm, well equipped, comfortable, the best cottage we have been too so far."
-
"An unexpectedly very comprehensive welcome 'pack' - cake, wine, bottled water, butter, eggs from the owner's own hens, milk, bread, cheese, tea, coffee, sugar, various condiments and dog treats!"
! The property is secluded, private and peaceful, yet so close to the village centre and with a brilliant garden for my dog. Even has a water bowl and towels for dogs. The conservatory overlooking the garden is a real bonus, the cottage is a really lovely property in a fantastic, very friendly, Suffolk village.

About the location
BOXFORD
Lavenham 9.4 miles; London 76.6 miles.
Boxford is a beautiful, medieval, Suffolk town steeped in history and home to the oldest shop in England and a garage which claims to be the oldest garage in Europe. There is a selection of essential independent shops with an excellent butchers, general store, coffee shop and three excellent pubs to choose from, one of which accepts dogs. The area is a popular one for cyclists with the official Cycle route passing through and a very active cycling club and a wonderful base for walkers to explore the endless network of footpaths. The official Cycle route passes through Boxford and if you are a real cycling enthusiast it also has a very active cycling club. The outstanding feature of this area is that it is so very rural and pretty with tiny medieval hamlets and small villages dotted along a spiderweb of single track lanes, that even the locals get lost in. It really is amazing that this beautiful region is just an hour and a half from London.
