"This is a lovely house to stay in."
It was clean and comfortable. Everything you need and more is included. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings . Handy for touring the island by either car or bus. Local walks easy to get to. Restaurants and local pubs within walking distance. Co-op shop not far away . Great local information provided in the property. Would highly recommend this property for families and/or couples /friends to stay whilst touring the Isle of Skye .
Thank you so much! We are delighted that you had a lovely time staying at our house! Hope you return soon! Property Owner
"Excellent stay, good location just over the bridge at entry point to Skye (so not completely central within the island), and with easy access to a supermarket."
Nice facilities, and reasonably roomy, though the toilet is downstairs (rather than ensuite). Host was very welcoming and notes were excellent. Would recommend.
Thank you for your kind words, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay on Skye and at our place. You are welcome back any time! Property Owner
"The home we stayed in was exceptionally clean, everything was there that we needed."
Home from home. Communication about keys collection and everything else was very clear. Such a peaceful little area of town with walks just next to the house. You could hear the traffic from the bridge, but that is to be expected considering the location. A good base to explore the Isle of Skye and surrounding areas, the garden is very tranquil. Thankyou for our welcome note, and for keeping all the maps of Skye and information leaflets up to date within the home, they were really useful to help us plan our exploring.
We are so pleased you enjoyed yourself at Taigh Tearlach! It was our pleasure to have you stay! Come back soon and thank you for your lovely words. Property Owner

This semi-detached, two-bedroom property sits in the village of Kyleakin, on the scenic east coast of the Isle of Skye.
Wonderfully presented throughout with off-road parking and enclosed garden, Taigh Tearlach welcomes families of three looking to spend some time exploring the Cuillin mountains and the surrounding countryside.
After a day of fell walking, kick back in the lounge and make yourself comfortable on the settee, warming up beside the woodburner and thinking about the next adventure.
Move into the kitchen and get to work on a hearty dish, making use of the electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, with a dishwasher to assist with the cleaning up!
Venture to the rear enclosed garden and enjoy a seat with a favourite tipple in hand.
Back inside, freshen up in the bathroom before heading upstairs and drifting off in either the double or single bedroom.
When you’re ready to explore, brush up on your local history with a visit to the Gavin Maxwell Museum and Eilean Ban, home to an exhibition on the remarkable Scotsman and celebrated writer, Gavin Maxwell, before exploring the 14th century Castle Moil located near to the attractive harbour.
Head across the bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh, offering a convenience store and a handful of restaurants where you can treat the group to a meal out.
One of Scotland's most well-known and visited sites is close by at Eilean Donan Castle, which is positioned at the end of a stone causeway on the banks of Loch Duich.
For nature lovers and keen walkers, the Kyle and Lochalsh community parkland is a haven for wildlife and is perfect for a family picnic on the meadows.

About the location
Kyle of Lochalsh 2.3 miles
Kyleakin at one time was the bustling ferry terminal for visitors arriving on the Isle of Skye, but now with the Skye Bridge it is a quiet and pretty fishing village with views across the short expanse of sea to the mainland. Kyleakin has a busy local shop and hotels and is also home to the Bright Water Visitor Centre which celebrates the heritage and wildlife of nearby Eilean Ban, once home to Gavin Maxwell the well known author and naturalist famous for his book 'The Ring of Brightwater.' The Island now forms a stepping stone for the Skye Bridge.
