Hawthorne House situated in the Lake District National Park, is a delightful Victorian duplex apartment resting on the first and second floors of a pretty property in Dubwath, a stones throw away from Bassenthwaite Lake near Keswick, which is only 8 miles away.

Be welcomed into this property on the ground floor, ascending the stairs to find the apartment beginning on the first floor.

Enter into a sitting room with dual aspect windows making the most of the pretty countryside views, creating a space ideal for reclining with a glass of your favourite beverage as you plan the day ahead of you.

On the first floor you will also find a sleek shower room and a cloakroom with a washing machine.

On the second floor, discover two bedrooms, choosing between a king-size and a twin.

Dubwath is a small settlement resting on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve, a beautiful spot for walking beside the lake and checking out the local wildlife with stunning views of forrests and fells inc Skiddaw, a quieter part of the Lake District.

Dubwath also offers Bassenthwaite Sailing Club for watersports activities, and close by cafés and pubs, including Bassenthwaite Lake Station and The Pheasant Inn, Bassenthwaite.

For a local shop, as well as a selection of pubs and eateries, plus a golf course, head over to Cockermouth, and from here days at the seaside can be spent at Maryport and Workington.

Keswick is well worth a visit, offering quaint shops, countryside walks, and a historic stone circle.

Also within walking distance is The Lakes Local Distillery.

Throughout the incredible scenery of the Lake District National Park there are many more lakes, hikes, and intriguing locations to visit including Castlerigg Stone Circle, Scafell Pike, Skiddaw, Windermere, and Whinlatter Forest.

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
