"My son and I really enjoyed our stay in your warm and comfortable cottage."
What a beautifuil setting. However, I am a very fit 82 yr old, but found the low lighting and several different stairs and steps a bit daunting. Whilst it was OK for me, I feel that it should be made clear on your listing that this property would not be suitable for elderly or disabled persons and very young children.

"We were welcomed as soon as we arrived which was lovely."
The Farmhouse is spacious and comfortable and in a great location not only for Coniston but for generally touring around the Lakes. It was very very peaceful and a lovely place to retire to after a day out walking.
-
"Loved our stay at the farmhouse, the owners were so welcoming!"
The house is so lovely, so much character to it. Grounds are just gorgeous and good location near the town. Would highly recommend!!
-
"Might be worth mentioning the low beams and uneven floor in the listing for some guests."
-
"Thank you Colin and Dorothy, we felt welcomed and really enjoyed our stay at The Farmhouse."
The views of the fells and Coniston are stunning.
-
"Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the property owner who showed us around the property and also showed us the route through their grounds down to the Lake."
The house is beautiful and the games room with pool table was great fun in the evening. We found the location of the property great for exploring the lakes. We walked from the property to the nearby Coniston Inn, Bluebird Cafe (great for breakfast) and the village. The bus 505 stops outside the Coniston Inn and goes to Ambleside where you can pick up the open top bus. We definitely want to come back

"Very enjoyable stay , the cottage was much larger than expected and the gardens are fantastic ."
Facilities and utilities were all as expected and we had no complaints. Great place to do local walks from too without needing to drive far , or at all for some.

"A well-appointed cottage in a quiet location, but convenient for Coniston."
It is spacious and warm. Beautiful grounds and views. Helpful hosts.

"A lovely cottage within the grounds very friendly and informative owner and her father would stay here again if I got the chance, cottage had plenty of room was well equipped, was a little cold but with the fire on in the tv room it was snug but was chilly everywhere else even with the storage heaters on so if your visiting in winter take warm clothes although the bedroom was chilly the duvet on the bed was nice and snug once you were under it."
We ate out a several nice pubs in coniston the Crown, the ship and bluebird cafe. We’re not really walkers just love to get away relax eat well and do nothing in front of the fire. Thankyou Kathryn and Collin
Great to meet you Paula. I wish you had said you were chilly. I could have given you some extra heaters! Property Owner

"We enjoyed our stay in the lovely cosy farmhouse which had everything we needed."
It is in a stunning location with amazing views. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely owner who showed us around and explained how everything worked which was much appreciated. Would definately stay there again. Thank you

"Overall a beautiful situation and comfortable cottage, however we did feel the TV room is grey and cheerless, we realise this is a historic property, but this room could be made much more welcoming."
We LOVE the original flag floor (400 years old) and Farrow & Ball walls!!! Lovely to have met you. Property Owner

"Beautiful situation."
The farmhouse is full of character but very comfortable and well equipped.

"Fabulous holiday spent with friends in The Farmhouse."
The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The Farmhouse was really cosy and warm, sometimes a little to warm. We had access to the very extensive stunning grounds. A day could be spent just walking the grounds and admiring the beautiful flowers, plants and trees. One major criticism was the height of the bath. It was a huge issue for me as I have had 2 hip replacements. It is a huge step in to take a shower and, at times, caused me pain. A step of some kind would have been very useful. The lack of a dryer for laundry was a bit taxing but clothes airers were provided taking a good couple of days to dry wet clothes. We would love to return but unless the bath/shower issue is addressed it is doubtful. This property is a great place to stay for the young, fit and healthy.
Lovely to meet you, and your friends who are previous guests. The bathroom pics show that the shower is not a walk-in, but over the original bath with deep marble surround. Sadly not suitable at all for your needs. Property Owner

"A really lovely spacious old house."
Had a great stay and felt very welcomed. Thank you

"Thank you for your wonderfully warm welcome and hospitality at our recent stay at ‘The Farmhouse’."
We loved the location and it was a real bonus to be able to explore your incredible garden and to walk through it practically onto the shore of Coniston water. The cottage was extremely spacious for our family of three and we spent a very happy time one rainy day reading and playing pool - an added extra which was much appreciated by our 12 year old. We like to cook for ourselves, at least for a couple of days, when we go away and the kitchen was equipped enough for us to be able to do that. All in all a very lovely place to stay and explore this part of the Lake District and we would highly recommend the property. This bit above for publication - not the bit below. Personally we found the 9am departure a little brutal - particularly with a 5pm get in.

"Cozy, comfortable and very well equipped gite."
A nice discovery, whether it is the gite or the region!
-
"Not a great experience, quite chilly, maybe the heating was not on early enough."
An old cottage but work is needed to making it airtight secondary glassing or draft excluder. This was before the storms. Good views towards old man of Coniston, good location to explore.
I’m so sorry you were chilly. If you had let me know I could have provided extra oil heaters and checked you were confident lighting the two fires. I’m glad you liked the views though. Property Owner

"We had a fantastic two week stay in the farmhouse."
The house was warm and comfortable, perfectly clean and homely. The kitchen is fully equipped, there are two wonderful reception rooms both with real fires. One downstairs bathroom with a toilet and sink and upstairs bathroom with shower over the bath. The games room is a fun little bonus. The property has many quirky period features and is very well maintained. The listing and the photographs within do not do justice to how beautiful this place is as a whole. We were greeted on arrival by the property owner and made to feel very welcome. The property is set in beautiful grounds which we were welcome to explore and it is ideally located, within a 30 minute walk to Coniston. We look forward to staying here again in future, could not fault this property and our experience there.

"Great cottage, really enjoyed our stay."
However the process for being reunited with our lost property has been absolutely dismal. Since contacting Lakelovers on the 17th of September , and paying £15, and receiving verbal confirmation that the lost property would he collected and sent to us, we are still yet to receive our lost luggage. With near no updates from Lakelovers, we called on the 7th of Nov and we told we would have to pay an additional fee for postage. We are very disappointed by the level of service, and based on my experience to date, I would find it difficult to recommend using Lakelovers to others. To date the lost property is still unresolved.

"Lovely cottage, we had a good family holiday."
Cycling, hiking and paddle boarding around the Lake District. View from the deck is beautiful. Thank you.
-
"A fantastic traditional farm house in a beautiful location."
Kids absolutely loved it. Thank you for a wonderful time.
-
"Cottage was in lovely grounds with a great view down to the lake."
Host was friendly. However, some of the furnishings are a bit tired and things would benefit from a bit of a spruce up.
-
"Absolutely beautiful location and gardens."
The cottage was lovely, very characterful.
-
"The cottage gave us a comfortable foundation to a week’s relaxation in this part of the Lakes."
A superb location, a cottage of generous proportion and distinctive character. Two minor things The double bed mattress was a bit hard -maybe due for replacement? A tray in the kitchen would have been an asset for access to the dining table
-
"Lovely cottage in a great location."
Very clean and comfortable.
-
"The Farmhouse is a fantastic place to stay, in a beautiful location - very comfortable, well-equipped and spotless."
We had a great week there.
-
"Thank you for another wonderful stay and for the 'bubbles' YUM!"
. Hopefully see you again soon
