"Perfect location that provided us the opportunity to fall in love with Clitheroe and the surrounding area."
The New Inn could not be closer and served some great beers! The only sounds in the pub was of people talking ...bliss.
Thankyou David, glad you enjoyed your stay and the beers too! Property Owner

"The cotage is filled with nice furnature."
Supplies are provided of useful items eg dish washer tablets. This makes life a lot easier. There are plenty of knives, cutlery, plates, kitchenware etc.

"A delightful cottage very well presented and spotlessly clean."
Located in a superb location in the centre of a thriving market town this is one of the finest cottages we’ve rented. Clitheroe is an excellent location with lots of independent shops and a variety of eateries offering a wide range of food choices. I have no hesitation in highly recommending both the wonderful cottage and a very special town.
Thankyou James for your wonderful review. I could not ask for better! Best Wishes Claire Property Owner

Lovely touches with fresh flowers, wine and welcome drinks. Adjacent parking was very handy in a busy town. Lots of amenities close by, buses, supermarket and pub. Thank you for our stay.
Thankyou for your great feedback, I try to make the cottage welcoming for guests, glad it is appreciated. Property Owner

"This is a lovely, comfortable cottage, ideally situated right in the centre of Clitheroe and yet in a quiet location."
We have stayed here 4 times now and have never thought of anything that could be provided and isn't or that could be more comfortable.
Thankyou for your lovely feedback Property Owner

"This cottage is perfect."
Everything you need and plenty of it. The beds are extremely comfortable. I was worried about it being behind a pub, but I never heard a sound all night, even with the window open. The Market place is right behind with a Market on most days. Clitheroe is a booming little town with lots of shops.
-
"This is a lovely cottage which we have stayed in before (and hope to again!"
) It is very comfortable and so convenient in the heart of Clitheroe.
-
"Our 5th stay so Claire must be doing something right !"
!
-
"This is our third visit to one of our favourite cottages."
It’s warm and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Parking is very easy and its location in the centre of Clitheroe is great. The market is almost on the doorstep and the pubs and cafes/ restaurants are welcoming. Despite being right in the town centre we have never been disturbed by noise or traffic. Clitheroe is a very friendly town with great walking in lovely countryside only a short distance away.
-
"Great cottage in a great location."
Close to the centre of town but very quiet. Parking spaces alongside was a bonus. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing comfortable stay. Two double bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, Smart TV and Blu Ray player and excellent Wi-Fi. Great welcome pack was much appreciated. Can't fault it and will hopefully return again
-

"Lovely cottage in a lovely location."
Can’t fault it in any way.
-
"Fantastic property, centrally located but quiet at night and well furnished."
Super comfortable beds, lovely living room, great bathroom and perfectly equiped kitchen. Coffee, tea, milk, orange juice and prosesso provided on arrival and really welcome! 7 minute walk from the train station and we could not fault our stay. Communication from Sykes was spot on as well, great customer service. Highly recommend this gem of a cottage.
-
"A great cottage, Clitheroe and all it has to offer is a short walk away."
Parking good for one car, two could be tight. Welcome pack was lovely
-
"The house was excellent for our needs, very comfortable with all of the facilities we required."
The welcome pack was very appreciated. The private parking was great, right next to the front door. The house is secluded but right in the middle of town, with a view of the castle from kitchen window.
-
"A beautiful cottage right in the heart of Clitheroe but very quiet and private."
All the amenities at hand when you need them most things within walking distance. A good base for exploring Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Why are the people up north nicer ???? We would recommend to everyone there were three of us and the cottage was adequate for all. Very nice indeed.
-
"This is our second stay at the cottage a real home from home, loved the welcome pack from Claire."
A fantastic place to stay everything you need, parked the car no need to use as everything on the door step, unless you want to go further a field to Hurst Green or Whalley. Claire a fantastic host.
-
"Clean and homely and a central location."
One word fantastic.
-
"This is an excellent cottage in an excellent location."
Our second stay here with our two elderly friends. One found the stairs a bit steep now (probably an age thing.
-
"A lovely, comfortable cottage and very close to all the amenities."
Many thanks to Claire for her kindness in view of the awful weather and for the extras she provided, (the Prosecco was very much appreciated) we couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. It was like a home from home with everything we needed (except the weather). We would certainly like to return as there are so many interesting places to visit in the area and The Stables is the perfect place to set out from. Thank you Claire.
-
"Second visit to the stables."
Lovely cottage in a great location right in the middle of town but off the beaten track.
-
"Lovely cottage."
Close to town centre. We didn't need to cook here as we were staying over for a wedding however, it looked like there was everything you'd need. Cottage has old characteristics with modern facilities. Looked like relatively new kitchen and bathroom. Very comfy. Tea, coffee, milk etc were very welcome. Only downside is that it was advertised with 2 parking spaces, which we needed, however we couldn't fit the 2nd car in but luckily we were still able to park close by. Would stay again if needed to be in the area again
-
"We returned because the cottage is in an ideal position for both walking into the centre of Clitheroe or driving further afield to one of the many pretty villages."
A home from home cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break and of course parking is an added bonus.
-

"What a great find, lovely cottage, quiet and relaxing."
In the heart of the town with easy access to all the shops. Clitheroe is a fabulous place to visit and we had a fabulous week. You must drive the Trough of Bowland as it is stunning. We had a day trip to Morecambe but came across a wonderful little village Sunderland Point but be mindful of the tide.
-
"Lovely stay at Stable Cottage, everything had been thought of to make a perfect week exploring the Ribble Valley and local area."
Location great as central to all the amenities, shops, market in Clitheroe. Easy parking right next to cottage. It is worth checking on Google maps as entrance is right before the New Inn on a one way system. Thank you to Claire for the lovely touches, really is a gem of a property.
-
"The accommodation was excellent, home from home."
A great base near plenty of attractions. Nice to be able to walk to the pub. Although there is no garden we could sit outside in the sun at the side of the cottage and enjoy watching the people at the market. The neighbours in the adjoining cottage were so friendly and helpful.
-
"A clean and comfortable cottage with everything provided."
The owner took the trouble to contact us to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
-
"A lovely little cottage in an ideal location."
The owner is very friendly and helpful and keen to provide anything you might need.
-

"Brilliant cottage with more than you could ever need provided."
Great location, right in town but quiet and parking also not far from lovely countryside
-
"It's a very comfortable house with a helpful, friendly owner, and is ideally situated both for the Clitheroe shops, cafes, castle etc."
and as a starting point for some lovely country walks.
-
"Beautiful area - Clitheroe is a very pretty town with a lovely atmosphere."
We especially liked the Bowland Food Hall! Lots to do as the location is an easy drive from the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. Liverpool is about an hour away if you want lots of shops! There were some local attractions that were closed due to Covid 19, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment.
-
"It was all great thank you."
The cottage was lovely, had everything that we needed and was in a lovely part of the UK.
-

All 4 of us were pleasantly surprised and will definitely stay again if we ever visit Clitheroe again!

"The Stables is fully equiped with everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing holiday"
-
"This was a beautiful cottage and all the rooms were very nicely furnished and decorated."
It was a most comfortable and relaxing stay, made even more so by the the outstanding level to which the cottage was equipped. It's generally a cliche but in this case it's a truth to say the property is a real 'home from home'.
-
"We loved the cottage and had a great holiday."
It was well equipped and clean. It was situated on a surprisingly quiet spot in the middle of a very beautiful town. Everything, market, castle, shops, town centre was in walking distance. We love to come back some day.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay in Clitheroe, what with the pub, chippy and Indian so close."
..what was there you couldn't like?
-
"Simply excellent"
-
"We enjoyed every moment of our stay in Clitheroe."
The cottage was warm, comfortable and immaculate and Claire was a wonderful host with willingness to be flexible about changing sheets, cleaning the cottage etc. We enjoyed the town, although initially found the one way system a little hard to negotiate, but it was well worth the effort with enjoyable visits to local restaurants and we loved the proximity of Booths Supermarket which was within walking distance as was the castle whose museum was a pleasant surprise. We would enthusiastically recommend this cottage if you are looking for a home away from home nestled in the beautiful English countryside.
-
"The cottage is cosy and comfortable."
We love all the homely touches - really appreciated all the extras the owner made available. Although the cottage is in the middle of the town it is very quiet and so is ideally situated. Clitheroe itself is a lovely little town to visit and we love its castle. There are plenty of good walks in the area.
-
"The quality of this accommodation was exceptional ."
Ideal for access to facilities in town such as shops and market, all within walking distance. The cleanliness of the property was outstanding matched by the comfort. Its location allows access to motorways for travel north and south and into the lake district and Yorkshire. Private parking was a bonus. We strongly recommend this property and we will be booking again.
-
"We had an excellent trip, Claire's cottage is perfect and very well located."
The area around Clitheroe is well worth exploring, beautiful walking and interesting museums both in the town and at Ribchester. The market in Clitheroe is good and there are some exceptional shops. Highly recommended.
-
"The cottage was spotless and location was perfect."
We would recommend definitely if you want to stay in the heart of clitheroe.
-
"The stables was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed."
Very comfortable and in a great location.
-
"Yes, Lots of cobb webbs and spiders."
Was the only downside... Need to clean the cobb webbs a bit better. That said the cottage was CLEAN and tidy...
-
"Clitheroe and the surrounding villages/countryside are lovely."
The cottage is in a central location near to the castle and market making everywhere easily accessible on foot. There are some lovely walks both from Clitheroe itself Including some along the river and also into the surrounding countryside. This is a really lovely area, the villages are very pretty and most of them have nice pube serving food as well as cafes. This is a good base for a relaxing holiday with lots of places to visit within a short distance.
-
"Central location in town thought it was Quiet actually close to everything ..."
Central location in town thought it was Quiet actually close to everything outlying Areas were very scenic lovely villages and pubs ate out every night great food loved the cottage would recommend sykes every Time thankyou happy customer
-
"Sykes seem to have given us the wrong telephone number (Tel 2)."
The listing should have said that the property had no private space such as a courtyard or garden. This could have been important for families with children but not a big deal for us though. The lock on the front door was rather difficult to turn, needs adjustment or lubrication. We found the duvets too heavy for summer weather.
-
"A perfect break spent at 1 The Stables last week."
Great accommodation. Very clean and very cosy too. A real home from home. Location is fab. Loved looking out over the stable door at the buzz of the market. Really close to the centre too with its large choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants. Nearby supermarkets were also a bonus. Would love to return.
-
"I would highly recommend this cottage - the facilities are excellent and the owner available, friendly and approachable."
The cottage was very clean and cosy with every convenience provided; washer/dryer (with tabs), dishwasher (with tabs), washing up liquid, all cooking utensils and laundry facilities. It has two comfortable double bedrooms and a bathroom with separate shower cubicle. The location is excellent - right across from Clitheroe Castle and within easy walking distance of Clitheroe town centre, all shops, the market and train station. Within five minutes drive you are in beautiful countryside. There is an allocated parking space right next to the cottage which is very convenient. Overall an excellent base to explore the area and great to come back to in the afternoon/evening. Thank you, Claire!
-
"Amazing to be so close to the centre of town, but be in such a quiet, safe, peaceful location."
Public transport (train and bus interchange) is an easy 5 minute walk away. Shops, bars, restaurants - minutes away. Look straight up to the tower of Clitheroe Castle from one of the comfy leather sofas in the living room. The ground floor has a well equipped, clean and spacious kitchen diner, with a proper dining table and chairs - thank you. Everything you need for self catering, with nice crockery and glassware. Spacious, warm and comfortable lounge. Upstairs, two immaculate and comfortable double bedrooms, one is particularly spacious. Good beds, pillows, linen and towels (even face flannels). The huge bathroom has separate bath and shower. This is a cosy, but not poky, cottage. The central hearing kept the whole place toasty warm in the cool evenings. Good, safe car parking by the side of the cottage. Lots of nice little touches by the owners, such as quality hand wash and lotion, welcome pack so you can have a fresh brew (with lovely biscuits) when you arrive or (my preference) a glass of chilled fizz! A real gem of a place. Highly recommended.
-
