  • "Loved every moment of staying here and can’t wait to go back - the photos seriously don’t do it justice."

Leanne talked my husband through everything on the phone the day before and set the house up with gorgeous 30th decorations as a birthday surprise for me which was so thoughtful!! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the bathrooms are all modern and the bedrooms so beautifully decorated. You honestly feel like royalty living in this glamorous house. We spent a lot of time in the cinema room, hot tub, sauna and games room. We also played a few games of rounders in the large garden area! One of the best cottages I’ve been to in England. Only slight pointer, I’d take take a few spare towels as there were only a handful of towels to use for the hot tub (not enough for 15 people).

Leanne the property manager was superb, she put decorations up before we arrived and then came to bring us more wine glasses and champagne flutes. There was a great log fired hot tub, a sauna and a games room with snooker and pool tables, darts, table tennis and table football. Beautifully furnished bedrooms and great entertainment spaces downstairs made for a brilliant weekend. Highly recommend this place!

  • "This property is amazing!"

!! a real gem. We were there to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. Leanne contacted me before we travelled and went through everything for us. There was even a welcome basket a birthday cake and a bottle to help us celebrate. It’s those little touches that make a difference. The house itself it’s just fabulous!! So clean, so spacious and lots for everyone to do. We loved the games room, we ate in the beautiful dining room, watched films in the cinema room, the children loved seeing the chickens they even laid us an egg! There is just so much to do together there. We were able to spend quality time together as a family from a 6 year old to an 86 year old we have all had the most wonderful time, in this absolutely beautiful house and will definatley return in the future!

  • "What can I say."

... this place is pure magic!!! 10 of us stayed here for a pre Christmas family get together at the start of December, and right from when the front gates opened we knew it was going to be an incredible weekend. Leanne was SO helpful and responsive, no question ever too silly and called me the day before with all of the check in information we needed. She was available throughout the weekend on WhatsApp which put us right at ease. The house is absolutely stunning, the perfect blend of curated vintage pieces and modern, and was even decorated for Christmas!! Such a fantastic touch and made for wine and cuppas round the open fire even more festive. Everything was spotless, the beds are super comfy and the sauna and hottub made the dash outside in -2 degrees worth it every time. Everything was so well stocked, the welcome basket was a brilliant touch and we hope the free range chickens enjoyed our Christmas Dinner scraps too. We just had the best time, sang carols round the piano, walked the grounds and had many a feast in the formal dining room and we've come away feeling so Christmassy. We will 10000% be back!! Thank you so much!!!

  • "Wow, was our first reaction."

A beautifully maintained house with so much space inside and outside. Being such a large property we were able to have a parents and children wing, while the rest of the family had a quiet wing! It didn't matter that the weather wasn't great, as the children had enough room to play. The children enjoyed feeding the chickens and collecting eggs. It was lovely having play equipment on site, along with secure grounds to explore. The added extras of a games room, hot tub and sauna make it an outstanding property. Leanne was so helpful and oversees things to maintain the property at a high standard. Every holiday letting should have a Leanne overseeing things. Thank you for making it such a memorable holiday. We look forward to a return stay.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the property, it was large enough for all of us and situated in a lovely place."

The amenities in the property were mostly good, however the games room was a bit tired with some broken items which made it difficult to use them e.g. pool & snooker table. On the one occasion when the hot tub didn't seem to be working action was taken immediately. We only used the tennis court on one or two occasions as it was covered in leaves and needed a good clean. Bedrooms were very comfortable and large in size. There were plenty of things for our 4 year old daughter to do at the property, she particularly loved the chickens! Property was very clean on arrival and we appreciated the little extras like milk and strawberries that were left. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

We were aged 9 to 80 and there was something for everyone whatever the weather. The games room was very popular as was the hot tub, sauna and cinema room. We loved feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs. If the weather had been better we would have spent more time on outdoor activities in the vast grounds but there is so much to do at Fence House. The large tables in the diningroom and kitchen/diner enabled us to eat together. The bedrooms were spacious and storage was excellent. Leanne was on hand to ensure a perfect break.

We loved the space, what all the rooms had to offer and the feeling of all being together as a family for my partners 40th birthday. The hot tub was incredible, we had plenty of wood (sorry we used so much- it was the coldest week of the year by far I think!) so the fires were burning and the hot tub was a real treat too! The games room was a really nice addition, but we didn’t really use it as there was no heating in there and it was freezing. I believe this is being rectified though, which is great- as it’s certainly a real asset to the house. We enjoyed the cinema room, snuggling by the fire, and all cooking together in the big kitchen. Leanne was amazing from start to finish. She was on hand, really helpful and made our stay super special. Thank you, we’d love to come back again in the future.

We mainly used the cinema room and kitchen areas, but loved the option of all the living areas. The games room was such a bonus for a miserable day outside, and I would recommend the property without hesitation. Big shout out to Leanne who was so helpful throughout. The cottage was immaculate, cosy, warm and just as described. The cottage is stunning, big and comfy. It’s nice to go somewhere and have the towels, bin bags, sponges, bins, cleaning utilities and all the cups, pans and glasses we would require etc. I’ve even brought the same plates as there’s as we love them lol. The grounds are lovely to walk around and the hot tub was the added touch. It did take a day to warm up pretty much but we did go in March. That could not put a downer on the stay as we was blown away by how clean and beautiful the cottage is. We ordered take away and the drivers needed directing to find the cottage (just like we did) as it’s a little off a main road and the satnav just took us to the main road so we have put balloons on the signs outside so hopefully this will help any future guests and it did help our delivery drivers lol. This still isn’t a negative just help for anyone staying in the future. The cottage has 6 double rooms (big double rooms) and 1 bunk bed room and 1 single room (just literally a bed with no room for anything else) but yet again, not a negative as the cottage is huge so if someone doesn’t want these rooms take a blow up bed lol. We went to a little pub walking distance away (about 15 mins walk) which was lovely and we got to see the sheep on the way there and back. The cottage had a lovely old but modern feel to it, I will be going back and staying again! Don’t hesitate, just book. 10/10!!
