Great location. Really modern, stylish interior. Everything there what we needed. Surprised how child friendly it was (we have 2 young children). Would like to revisit in summer and take advantage of wonderful garden.

  • "Loved it! It’s amazing how much work was gone into renovating the cottage, it was great to look through the book and see all of the progress."

The location is very calm and relaxing and we loved the river outside. The cottage itself is also very nice and everything you need is there, the pictures don’t do the place justice! I would definitely recommend staying here to anybody wanting to relax and go for walks.

  • "We had a lovely stay."

Weather was miserable, wind and rain, so some days we decided not to venture out. This was no hardship, it was lovely staying in this luxury accommodation. Views of the river and the surroundings in all sorts of weather. There was nothing we needed, fully equipped. Even Fresh Eggs next door. Highly recommended, it's a stunning property. They kept the character of the old cottage when modernising with high quality furnishings. Loved it.

I would not hesitate to book again. A great base to explore the local areas - loads of activities and sightseeing to do. Very relaxing and cosy. Fabulous garden - we enjoyed playing swing ball with the children. A lovely renovation of the cottage, and really well equipped. Can’t fault it.

  • "We had a fabulous stay in this superb cottage which has been renovated to very high standards."

No expense has been spared. The owners have left a very interesting photo album of the before/work in progress/after pictures which shows all of the work that has gone into this project. The cottage is in a lovely peaceful location but very close to Grange Over Sands. We found it was the perfect base to visit the Lake District and surrounding areas. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with a very stylish kitchen with a superb, easy to use cooking range. However, we found a couple of things were missing - a tea pot and Champagne/Prosecco glasses. We guessed they had been broken and not replaced as there was only one left. We also found that there was no comfortable provision for eating meals. The breakfast bar is fine for breakfast but only space to comfortably seat 3 people. It is not ideal for dinner in the evening. The owners have provided a fold up garden type table and chairs which is stored away but it is not really adequate or comfortable for 4 people. On the other hand, the outdoor patio furniture is plentiful and comfortable. Extreme caution is needed using the stairs and steps leading down to the entrance of the cottage. Overall, it was a pleasure to stay in this accomodation.

Beautiful cottage set in lovely friendly village with easy access to the lakes and other places of interest. I would highly recommend this cottage to my friends ad family,. The cottage has everything you would need, jut like home from home.

  • "We were extremely pleased with the accommodation."

It was a 90th birthday treat for our Mum who had a wonderful time. She was perfectly capable of managing stairs and steps to the rear entrance. We have no negative comments to make but unfortunately forgot to write our comments in the book. Please pass these on to the owners as we will definitely consider booking cottage again should we wish to visit the area. Many thanks for your assistance

  • "What a beautiful property!"

We use Skyes every year and the properties seem to get better each time. Beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Clean throughout. We took some wood knowing it would be chilly so we could use the lof burner. WiFi strong. Netflix on the TV which we appreciated on the rainy day we had. Local village less than 5 minutes drive and a good location to visit all the local attractions

  • "Personally Wifi and a table and chairs in the kitchen would have enhanced what is a great house in a beautiful location."

We used the wooden garden table which we left up for the duration of our stay but couldn't understand why a permanent table and chairs was missing, when you can see the owners have renovated the house to such a high standard. Kitchen was well equipped, brilliant oven, there were champagne glasses but couldn't find any wine glasses. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the property.

  • "LOVED the cottage, the location and Grange over Sands too."

Owners had put out little extras too which were a lovely welcoming touch. Bedding etc was fabulous. Cottage is stunning. The only thing that would improve this cottage is the addition of WiFi. I stumbled across it by chance as normally WiFi is a “must”. However as it was only 5 days thought we would take the chance. Definitely missed it as mobile only had intermittent coverage.
