  • "Outstanding property."

High end finish. Very relaxing break. Rear gardens and views very picturesque. Some nice touches like spice rack. Biscuits (dog as well) milk, information on walks etc.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. Glad you and your dog had an enjoyable stay! John & Jen Property Owner

  • "This house was lovely very clean and modern and the gardens perfect for anyone taking a dog."

Plenty of room for a toddler to move about aswell, as it's open plan downstairs which was perfect for us. Highly recommend this house and we are already thinking about going back. Oh and the dog was very happy with the biscuits!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are very reliant on the cleaning being well done, and are lucky our cleaner does a first class job. The view out the back is very peaceful, and as an ex-dog owners, we are pleased your dog enjoyed the doggie biscuits! We try and keep them well stocked. John & Jen Property Owner

  • "Lovely modern cottage in a peaceful village with great view in the back garden."

Cottage was spotless decorated and finished to a high standard and everything you need for self catering. Lots of little things extra in the kitchen tea, coffee, biscuit and milk, cleaning products , smart TV, board games and DVDs. Bed were very comfortable and a choice of pillow. Would recommend a stay at the his cottage to everyone

Thank you very much for your comprehensive and complimentary review! In todays world we are very reliant on good reviews, and it doesn’t get any better than your 100% score! Thank you, John & Jen Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay in this cottage which is in a lovely quiet village."

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and a few luxuries such as Smart TV's and pod coffee machine. It really has been built and furnished to a high standard. There is a nice view from the patio area which is ideal for sitting out in the evenings or having a BBQ. Warcop has a nice little steam running through it and there are plenty of walks/bike rides from the doorstep taking you out into the beautiful countryside. We visited nearby Appleby and Kirkby Stephen and a bit further out to Penrith. The owner was super friendly with great communication.

Thank you very much for such a comprehensive and positive review…wish we had come up with it ourselves for the description of the cottage and the local area! Glad you enjoyed your stay! John & Jen Property Owner

  • "This is a modern cottage on an old site, decorated and equipped to a high standard."

Everything you would expect in a holiday house was provided. There is a very pleasant patio area at the back with a lovely view over farmland and, in June, a beautiful wildflower meadow. The owners were very accommodating about arrival and check out. Warcop is an attractive village - pity the pub is closed down. We had the added bonus of Romany caravans and their horses on their way to Appleby. There is a very pretty stretch of river, great for young children, a short walk away.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We hope that the Warcop village pub renovations will be completed and that the pub re-opens. There is a nice pub, The Sandford Arms, in the next village of Sandford. Plus there are several good pubs (I know!) in the nearby towns of Kirby Stephen and Appleby-in-Westmorland. • "A lovely Place, Great owner"

We understand you were staying at the cottage for 7 weeks while you waited for a new build property to be completed, not as regular holiday-maker. Nonetheless thank you for taking good care of the property and giving us a great feedback score. Much appreciated. John & Jen Property Owner

Everything we needed during our stay and much more. Ideal location being between the Dales and the Lake District. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and have recommended to friends and family.

Thank you so much for your top marks feedback! We will certainly pass on your comments about the cleanliness to our cleaner. John & Jen Property Owner

  • "The property as a new build is built to a high standard."

It's the little things that count though. Books and magazines were left of the locality and for various persuits, a lovely bottle of wine and small jars of jams etc that made you feel really welcome. The information pack was very clear and concise. I would have no hesitation in recommending the old sawmill as an ideal accomodation for a short break.

Thank you for your positive feedback and comments. We try to think of everything and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. John & Jen Property Owner

We were impressed with the level of thought gone into making our stay a comfortable one. Books, dvds, board games, a very well equipped kitchen, little pots of jam and even treats for the dog. Beautiful walks from the village. Would definitely recommend the cottage and location.

  • "Beautifully presented house."

Much more spacious and well equipped than expected.. The bottle of wine to compensate for building work next door was a lovely gesture - fhough as it was a weekend stay we were not inconvenienced at all. We enjoyed our visit to the Eden Valley heritage railway and visit to Barnard Castle. The property owners provided lots of useful information. The only thing which was missing were the blue bags which we were supposed to put the bedding in. It’s also a pity that there.is no village shop. We would love to return to the property in the future.

Thank you for your kind comments and we are glad to hear that you would like to return in the future. Property Owner

  • "Had I great stay at the cottage."

The cottage had everything we needed for our wks stay. The only negative I would give is the builders next always blocking the drive which was annoying but you can't blame the owners for that.

Thank you for your kind comments. We are hoping that the building work in the cul de sac will be finished soon. (Updated February 2022) The building works in the cul de sac have now been completed. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic week in a beautiful, very well equipped & sparkling clean property."

Lovely spot and plenty to do within a short drive. Literally the only thing I would do to improve it would be to add a side gate to keep dogs/children secure. Couldn't fault it at all and hope to one day return. Made good use of the board games and even relaxed enough to read a couple of books from the book case. Can highly reccomend a drink in the 'Taggy Man' in Kirby Stephen and a full English or stack of pancakes in Lily's cafe in Appleby. Had a lovely day out on Ullswater Lake "Ullswater Steamers" leaving from Pooley Bridge: must book in advance as well as a day out in Durham. Stocked up on all shopping in Appleby, Low Howgill butchers and the green grocers next door were fab.

Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is our intention to put up a side gate. We are just waiting on the builder. We look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

The cottage is nicely finished and very well equipped. Every time I thought I had forgotten to bring something, we found it in the cottage. The owners have thought of everything! The village of Warcop is lovely and we enjoyed local walks as a family. The cottage is well placed for the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. We enjoyed trips to both and every drive was absolutely stunning! Checkout Appleby for a local butcher, bakery and fresh produce.

Thank you for your kind review. As you were our first ever guests, it was good to hear that we are on the right track. Property Owner
