  • "Cozy lodge with perfect location."

However, it was the worst holiday stay we have been in, the weather was cold and rainy. The heaters as well as the boiler didn’t work at all. We felt freezing and couldn’t enjoy the stay. In addition, the dishwasher was dirty and full of water, the smell was bad.

It is lovely to hear you thought the lodge was cozy and in a perfect position however I am very sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your stay. Whilst the weather is something out of my control and it was not good for July I did send a gas engineer the morning you reported the problem who established the boiler had been turned off for some reason and he put it back on and re set it. The agent or myself didn’t hear anything further from you so we assumed all was ok. The lodge also does have an electric fire and an additional oil filled radiator which were both working fine even if the boiler didn’t come on so the lodge could have been made warm. It is a shame you didn’t contact either myself or the agent as the engineer is on site everyday and could have come at any time to sort any problems you had. We have a new boiler fitted now so this couldn’t happen again. The dishwasher hadn’t been allowed to complete its cycle which was why it had water inside and smelt. It simply needed turning back on until it had finished. Again if the agent or myself had been contacted this could have been easily rectified. I leave my no on show throughout the lodge to ensure I can sort any problems quickly. My housekeeper sent me photos of how you left the lodge which was very upsetting but now I know you didn’t enjoy your stay perhaps I understand why. Property Owner

  • "We were on a 3 generation family holiday to Windermere, staying in different lodges."

Everyone loved Skiptory Howe 7 - a lovely Scandinavian feel, gorgeous decking amongst the trees, spotlessly clean and well kitted out. The owner Julie responded immediately to a slight problem we had with the boiler, followed it up the next day and really couldn't have been more helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this lodge - we will definitely be going back.

What a lovely review, so glad you enjoyed the traditional feel of the lodge and it’s setting. Hope you get to come back soon. New boiler now fitted to avoid the gas pressure problem we were having. Thanks for being so understanding. boiler niw do Property Owner

  • "This holiday lodge was in a fantastic location, easy access to all areas around the Lake District."

Within the site it is also a perfect location, on the edge and set back, so quite private yet close enough to the main area where the kids park/bar/pool etc are. The cleanliness was of a high standard and all linings were fresh, walking into the lodge the heating had warmed it through and it had a wonderful homely feel. The kitchen mirrors the same cleanliness and was equipped with everything we needed for cooking. The beds were very comfortable. We did have to have a good look around for the cot bed and found it, along with the high chair in the airing cupboard of the main bathroom. The decking area was fab, having an 18 month old who wants to be everywhere gave us peace of mind that the gates lock and the whole decking was secure! Highly recommend this lodge to anyone. Big thank you to the owners for sharing their wonderful place, resulting in us having a wonderful Easter weekend!!

Thank you for your lovely review. So glad you enjoyed your stay and had a good Easter break. Hope you get to return some time. Thanks again. Property Owner
