Very warm & cosy & home from home. Special mention to cat face who made our stay. Warm, fluffy & friendly . Will definitely come back
"Settee and bed a bit hard for my liking every thing else fantastic"
"It was a very well presented cottage and the owner had left lots of little extras like tea/coffee/milk/condiments/washing up liquid/loo roll - all things that you need when first arrive and might have forgotten to bring."
All this made us feel welcome but not as welcome as the wine and chocolate - great touch. Quiet, very comfortable clean cottage with a great rear aspect and little extras like books and dvds to occupy you. It also has a very friendly little cat that visits and makes you it’s friend. Handy location for touring North Lincolnshire. Cleethorpes itself was quite pleasant and the surrounding area seems very nice. I would definitely recommend this cottage - great value for money. Sykes cottages admin and communication has been superb from booking to departure
"A very nice , clean cottage in a good location for exploring this area of North Lincolnshire and on the doorstep of Cleethorpes , the fish and chip capital of the UK ."
Plenty of quaint towns and villages to visit . We were not disappointed with our first stay in this part of the country .
"Such a lovely break."
Cottage is very relaxing and has everything needed for a much needed break. Our third visit - will definitely be back
"The peace and tranquility yet nearby vicinity to shops etc"
"It is peaceful relaxing cottage far enough away from the busy Cleethorpes beachfront and nearer the more sedate end of Cleethorpes promenade."
The owners are very friendly and helpful and even left us a lovely bottle of white wine cooling in the fridge. They have an adorable little cat that just loves being invited in and is very companionable but that is up to you though we can thoroughly recommend her to help chill you out. The area is very seasidey more Blackpool than Brighton but there is so much countryside to explore if you want something more bucolic. It is nice to have a dining room as well as a comfortable lounge and the kitchen is a good size. Unfortunately, we had only been there one day before the Government announced another lockdown so we had to cut our holiday short only three instead of the six days we had planned but they were really nice days. Highly recommended and should we want to visit there area again we would definitely book this cottage.
"The property is good value for money and is situated in a very quiet location, with many things on offer."
The terrain is very flat so is ideal for walking and cycling. We enjoyed our fish and chips in Cleethorpes, which doesn't boast a great beach, but Mablethorpe is accessible for a day trip which has a very clean and sandy beach. You need to drive to the Wolds for pretty villages and Tealby is well worth a visit. The owners live next door and are very helpful. We were unlucky that the TV and DVD player didn't work well but I'm sure they will sort this out. They have a very persistent cat who scratches at the window, wanting to get in, but it eventually gets the message and goes away. We could recommend Sykes Cottages and would definitely go back to Field View again, hopefully when there is no Pandemic. We were grateful to be able to get away during the pandemic and have done it safely. Thank you.
"The cat called Tillie makes a great fuss over guests and is a big part of the house"
