"Just a great place to stay."
The views were tremendous and it is in easy reach of many National Trust and English Heritage properties. The chapel was extremely spacious and clean. The only thing missing was a separate shower but we got round that.
"Lovely place to stay, the views are incredible!"
The location is idyllic but easily accessible to many places. BBQ and log burner are great additions and bed is really comfy! Could provide a few more dishwasher tablets and coffee bits to last abit longer, and also a hoover to deal with the cobwebs that there are around. Overall an amazing time and would recommend!
"The property was excellent very clean and tidy and a peaceful location."
My only concerns were the 4 security cameras located around the entire exterior of the property. They made us feel we were being watched all the time, quite disconcerting really and somewhat ruined the feeling of privacy. On a second note, and probably linked, the internet was very slow so not helped by the constant feed to all the cameras. Other than that, we would thoroughly recommend if those issues didn’t bother you.
"We really enjoyed our stay - the views from the patio are amazing, and we loved the quick access to the hills behind, and the short walk to the Admiral Rodney!"
The decor and furnishings are great too, with lots of lovely touches - if anything, the photos don't do it justice! It was also good to stay somewhere with a strong emphasis on sustainability and recycling - so many holiday cottages don't explain the local recycling, which means we have to take all our paper, plastics, etc home with us. The main downside is that there is no view on the countryside from inside - that didn't matter for us, as the weather was lovely so we could sit out everyday. But I can imagine missing not having a view from inside on cold or wet days. As we are early risers, we did find that there was a slight smell of diesel fumes outside on the patio in the mornings when the hot-water and heating come on, and we had to move to the bench at the end of the garden to escape it. It would be good if the PIN code for the heating / hot water control could be given, so that they can switched off, or timings changed. And one final minor point, my partner is sensitive to perfume smells as they can trigger migraines, so we had to find a way of sealing away the scented sticks during our stay.
"Excellent property, secluded but close to shops and pub etc."
Very clean and tidy.
"A perfect retreat to switch off and refresh."
Despite the snowy weather, we were never cold and made good use of the log burner (under floor heating was really nice and kept us warm in the day). The facilities were luxurious, such as the comfy sofas, dishwasher, big bed, and bath tub, making our stay even better. The perfect stay, we'll be booking again for our third trip soon, thank you!
"Fabulous very comfortable home from home would love to return."
"This was our second stay at Bausley Chapel and we can’t fault the accommodation and location."
My partner and I had such a lovely restful stay in peace and tranquillity. The Chapel has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The log burner is a bonus but the Chapel is so warm that we didn’t really need to use it other than the fact it looks nice when it’s on. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bath is amazing because you have that beautiful view of the rolling Welsh countryside that you can enjoy whilst in the bath. Also plenty of hot water so you can stay in the tub as long as you want and not get cold. The bed is very comfortable and all in all the place feels like home. I love being at the Chapel so much that I have booked again in March to go and spend my birthday there. If you like walking then the location is ideal. No need to drive anywhere as you’ve got the countryside walks right outside. Love the outdoor area of the Chapel which in the warmer months is great for barbecues and just sitting out and enjoying that spectacular view. Nice that you can park your car off road as well. Welshpool which is only 9 miles away provides a Tesco and Aldi if you need food supplies. The Chapel and it’s location really is a little patch of paradise to enjoy. If it’s peace and quiet that you’re after then it’s definitely the place to go.
"Bausley Chapel is stunning and felt like home, and we did not want to leave."
Beautifully presented high quality holiday home and we rather like the fact that it is not over priced. A lot of self catering holiday accommodations are expensive but Bausley Chapel is well priced making it a rare find. Bausley Chapel is a place we would definitely love to return to for a holiday or 4. A very warm and homely atmosphere and we liked reading the mini history of it that the owners had written in the welcome book.
"Fantastic place !"
Will be definately be booking for another visit and recommending to family and friends.
"A wonderful old building in a great location with magnificent views."
A pity, however, about the very impractical bath that was unsuitable for showering. Also, the sink in the kitchen island unit was poorly designed insofar that there was no proper plate/cutlery drainage unit which meant constant wiping of the wooden surface. The main area was rather dark even during the day but I would not wish these shortcomings to detract from a wonderful week that my wife and myself had!
"Just back from a lovely week away in this chapel/cottage."
Photos show the property as was on arrival so no surprises, however, the postcode as per satnav leads you in a slightly different direction so google maps prior to our visit helped. The cottage is on a road but this isn't busy, so the week away was very quiet and relaxing with lovely views from the bench in the garden. The area had plenty of options for days out (National Trust) and if going into Shrewsbury the Oxon park and ride is a must, as is the indoor market. We would book again!
"The property was amazing, was a nice romantic get away."
Not to far to drive to local towns but the location of the property was quiet with great views from the garden.
"Peaceful and private, comfortable and well-equipped, a great location in beautiful countryside with great walks in the local hills - we loved it."
"The Chapel was very nice, apart from being miles from anywhere it was a very quiet (Except for tractors and farm vehicles passing) Which was to be expected a relaxing week."
"Bausley Chapel was beautiful, comfortable, and so relaxing."
Ideal for us as a couple, we spent the evenings lounging in the sun taking in the views, BBQ'ing, and enjoying some much needed relaxation. We wanted somewhere quite, peaceful and remote.. and got it! Still close enough to towns and tourist areas, we enjoyed being able to visit the area and retreating back to tranquility later in the day. The interior of the property was so special and cozy, with luxury that we wouldn't normally get at home. Such a comfortable and big bed! The only downside was the bath not having any sort of protective screening to prevent water splashing around, and washing hair took a very long time due to the bath style. However, we were happy to go with what was there as it was a different experience and suited the property well.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. A proper shower is something we would like to add to property in the near future. Property Owner
"Large crack up against the wall, behind the wood burner."
Provision of shower over bath with no stand or curtain proved difficult to use. Unable to use the toaster as every time used tripped the electricity in the property. Just felt unfinished with miss matched crockery.
Thank you for your valued feedback. We weren't aware the toaster was broken, this has now been replaced, thank you for letting us know. This property does not have a shower, so no screen or curtain is provided. This is stated in the ad. This is something we would like to add to property in the near future. Property Owner
"Just a beautiful place everything was Amazing thank you"

"Never in 50 years had to wait till 5 pm to access property, Heating very poor , ..."
Never in 50 years had to wait till 5 pm to access property, Heating very poor , Hot water ran out by the afternoon, a pyrex jug would be useful to boil milk for cereal etc, the property was nice and clean , directions to the property not good , we liked the property and location, being in our late 70s the lack of heating with out lighting fire not good
Thank you for your valued feedback. The 5pm check-in is in place to give us a sufficient amount of time to carry out the change-over clean and any necessary maintenance to the property / grounds. As the chapel is fully booked for most of the year, this is the only time during the booked periods where we get to do this. We are sorry if this affected your stay. Thank you for letting us know about the Pyrex jug, as we weren't aware the existing one had been broken. I am sorry you had problems with the heating. The chapel is served by an underfloor heating system and instructions on how to use this is explained within the welcome manual. Property Owner
"This was our third visit to the Chapel."
I find it to be one of the most relaxing places I have stayed in. Everything works well - layout, equipment and I feel very comfortable there. Love the view and the stars. Thank you

"Enjoyed our stay again."
Really quiet and peaceful. feels like home from home. Very relaxing and comfortable. We will be back in June.
"Had a lovely relaxing stay, couple of small gripes in that there was only one bin bag under the sink so after we put the bins out on wednesday we didn’t have another bin bag to put in the black bin as we needed one to put the linen in."
also some cleaning products would have been nice, even just some wipes so we could keep the cottage clean. only 2 toilet rolls which weren’t enough for 2 people for a week. we would have appreciated some basic necessities like milk for when we first arrived at the cottage. these wouldn’t put us off from staying again though, we had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our time away together, lots of information about things to do in the local area, bed was comfy and it was really nice having the fire there. everything else was fully provided for.
"The photos dont do it justice."
A beautiful property and view perfect for a relaxing stay. Just a couple of suggestions and nothing that detracted from a lovely holiday would be a couple of pizza trays and a soap dish to use when soaking in the bath.

We had a really nice stay in Baulsey Chapel, the accommodation was second to none , we also found some good hiking round about the property and in short drives distance, also the nearby pubs had good ales and excellent food
"We can't fault this place absolutely fantastic."
We have rebooked for two more holidays for to weeks at a time. So it must be good
"Had an amazing stay in the lovely cottage, it was very relaxing and in a stunning location with plenty to do in the area from walks right on the doorstep to quad biking and archery, also within walking distance."
We would definitely recommend this little gem and will be returning. The only issue was no washing machine and lack of clothes rail.
"We had a really lovely relaxing break away exploring the local area, there really is some lovely places and walks to visit close by."
Shrewsbury is a must see. The chapel has everything you need for a home away from home. Bed is very comfy. I enjoyed having a bath with a view overlooking the hills. The garden is such a lovely space to sit out in and enjoy a drink in the evening and watch the sunset. The only thing I would like to point out which I did notice, the coffee machine was full of old used pods from previous holidayers - and their seemed to be quite a lot of cobwebs and dust gathering around the top of the oven space and in the top of lamps. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. :)
"We had a wonderful week in this beautiful converted chapel."
Very comfortable and Ideally centrally located for exploring the Shropshire area and east Wales. Great to meet Ed , the owner, and benefit from the New Wifi Ariel he had just fitted. Fantastic views from the garden , nice to sit out on the patio area in the evening taking it all in ,in perfect tranquility. I would certainly highly recommend hiring this stunning cottage .
"The chapel is the perfect hideaway to have a really relaxing break."
The location is picture perfect with lots of walks right on your doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was over far too soon. We hope to return again in the future.
"The patio was a mess."
"The cottage was just as advertised."
Spectacular views. We settled in the minute we walked through the door. The location is really peaceful with some lovely walks close by. My husband, a keen runner, enjoyed some good runs, if a little challenging. It is a place that we could revisit and enjoy the views in different seasons.
"Overall the location and accommodation were excellent, however we felt a few little niggles could be resolved to make it even better The heating was not sufficient to keep us warm and we couldn’t increase it as the heating was on a timer and there was no boost option."
The bath would only fill up to nearly half way because of the lack of hot water. A shower would have been better in our opinion.Regulating the shower head was very difficult.
"Ideally placed for a superb peaceful break."
Accommodation is very clean and comfortable with all we could ever need. Chapel is well placed in the countryside with superb views to the North, although views in other directions somewhat restricted. Lovely place to escape to.
"The converted chapel was a stunning place to stay and has been beautifully restored, with high quality finishing."
The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding areas of Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Church Stretton. Will definitely look to stay here again.
"The setting is idyllic."
Lovely quiet place in the countryside. Everything you could wish for in a cottage. Beautifully converted chapel. Lovely decor and attention to detail.
"The picture of the view - good though it is - does not do justice to how spectacular it actually is."
The immediate surroundings are extremely beautiful and unspoilt with good walks to be had from literally outside the door but also easy access to local towns and attractions. The cottage itself is almost deceptively well designed inside and out - nothing requires unnecessary effort and the simple instructions on how to use the utilities were much appreciated - an often overlooked issue in our experience.
"The chapel was beautiful it was very well equipped, clean the views were beautiful from the chapel over looking the countryside, lovely walks and central to driving to towns."
"Bausley Chapel could not have been more perfect for us!"
! So homely, and well equipped with stunning views and in a great location. Honestly didn't want to leave!! ♡♡
"We really enjoyed our stay at Bausley Chapel, it was just perfect for our needs in this time."

"The chapel was absolutely beautiful, we walked in and it was just amazing, decor was fantastic, very clean, all facilities worked well, open fire was just Brilliant, my wife and I had such a great time ,the chapel was so good we spent most of our time there."
Would highly recommend this place 5 stars all the way.
