  • "The house is nicely decorated and comfortable, lots of space available."

Sleep quality was good. We had experienced a problem from numerous house flies (end of Nov, cold weather) - there were over 12 flies when we arrived and it continued until the last few days. Initially felt we were being fobbed off with the response which was unfortunate, solutions offered of fog bomb but then retracted. We were offered an alternative place to stay which was not convenient for our ongoing plans and we had paid more for this accommodation than the one being offered. We don’t really expect to be moved after we have paid for and chosen a property for the holiday planned. This matter resolved towards the end of the holiday but I do suspect this issue would have been known prior to our arrival … and the initial response was a source of irritation. We would describe the property as being domestically cleaned as opposed to a professional standard ie: staying at a relatives home as opposed to a property paid for. Skirting boards, floors, cupboards … quite heavy set dust. On the table legs the dust was so thick and black it was quite a disappointment. In the kitchen the cupboards are a little bit overstocked with plates, cups and glasses. This leaves little space for storing food as a self catered accommodation so we had to store quite a few items on the countertops. The upper rooms are also quite cold, the heating here is not so efficient. Some of the aerial TV stations we tried to watch during the evening times also did not work, the feed was scrambled (approx 9-10 main channels). Sadly with all things considered we would not stay again or recommend it as it didn’t meet our expectations.

Thank you for your feedback. As soon as we were made aware of the flies, we immediately took action to resolve the issue. The flies entered the property due to the area and the temperature drop, but we did our best to get rid of them. We hung flycatchers in the roof space and provided citrus spray to tackle the problem. We did not use the fog bomb as it was a new method for us and we did not want to cause any harm. Were not made aware of the TV issue until just before departure, We want to assure you that we were not avoiding the problem and were eager to address each issue you raised during your stay. We even offered an alternative property for you to move into if you were unhappy. Regarding the heating, the boiler was on and set to 20 degrees the entire time, 24hrs a day. Guests can use the thermostat if one of the rooms feels colder. Property Owner

Situated in a great position for visiting the delights of North Wales and Anglesey. The Welsh cakes and Barabrith were delicious and I would recommend this cottage.

  • "Lovely little holiday home and definitely somewhere we would go to again!"

Very well equipped property that is tastefully decorated and in a peaceful location yet close enough to shops and plenty to do nearby. Such an amazing selection of treats left by Jane the owner as well and they were very appreciated after a long journey.

From the very enjoyable home baked goodies left to greet you to the laundry facilities - everything is perfect. Every detail in this cottage has been covered and I defy anyone to find a fault with it.

  • "This is a lovely, well equipped cottage in a great location to explore this beautiful part of Wales."

The tone was set by the plates of home baking which had been laid out for our arrival. I had one request of the owner which was picked up and dealt with same day which was really good. The bedrooms and living space are a good size, all nicely decorated and equipment wise there is everything you need to make it a real home from home. On three sides of the house is a field which often, I believe, has sheep in it but we had cows and calves which was another treat. The location is very close to Caernarfon with its very impressive castle and a shortish drive to Anglesey with its lovely beaches or the heart of Snowdonia with its beautiful scenery and villages. We would plan to return one day.

  • "A fabulous looking holiday home set in a peaceful location which we were looking for."

The inside of the house was decorated to an extremely high standard, with lots of thought put into it, it was a very comfortable property to stay in, a proper home from home. We enjoyed having the sheep in the fields around us. The incredible baked goodies & milk left by Jane was a lovely gesture. We would love to return to Bryn Derw in the future.

  • "We stayed for a week as a family of 6 and the property is one of the best we have stayed in."

The downstairs bedroom and bathroom is ideal when someone has mobility needs. The beds are excellent and we all slept perfectly. Huge fridge/freezer ideal for families if you’re planning to cook in. The entire property is beautifully and tastefully furnished and decorated. The facilities are spot on and then number of towels and other essentials that were provided were excellent - over and above what we usually experience in other properties. The laundry room outside is invaluable when you have small children. The enclosed front and rear gardens are perfect for the children to play and the sheep provided something different and really enjoyable for the kids. We would 110% recommend and we hope to stay again very soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay

A lovely and welcoming selection of home baked cakes, sausage rolls and biscuits that were absolutely gorgeous. Every modern appliance available and the WiFi was superb. It was also nice to have a really good quality TV in the main room for the evening. Jane was really helpful throughout our stay and was always contactable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back to this wonderful cottage. Highly recommend and five stars is just not enough for this immaculate cottage. Thank you Jane.

Beautifully presented and very well equipped (although having one inside loo was challenging with a 4 and 14 year old)! Great host who left a wonderful selection of home baked treats for our arrival. I would highly recommend and would definitely rebook.

A lovely clean comfortable, place to stay. A very safe garden so you can let the dogs out and not worry if they can escape. A short distance from the coast and very well placed to visit further afield. Home made cakes greeted us on our arrival and its that sort of touch that makes this accommodation special. Its not often we would stay again in the same place as we like to explore but I will be booking this house again.

  • "Wow! One of the best holiday homes we have had the pleasure of staying in."

Everything we could need and more. The house was very warm and comfortable, absolutely spotless and in a great location - could see local houses / farms within walking distance but far enough away to be very peaceful. Although the road is used it is of no bother and hardly any noise. The bedrooms were all good size, we had lots of room, we slept great every night and the huge shower felt very luxurious! The sheep were in the field when we arrived and were lovely to see up close, there is great fencing up so if you have a curious dog the sheep are still quite safe. Only few minutes drive from Caernarfon and easy access to supermarkets - Tesco / Morrisons / Asda. We also found it a great base location to drive to other NW locations and visited couple of places on east and west coast of Anglesey and Holyhead as well as visiting Bodnant Gardens (you can now take dogs Fri/Sat/Sun), Betw-y-Coed and Beddgelert. Jane was a fantastic host and makes the most amazing welsh cakes - we felt very welcomed and looked after! Thanks a lot and hope to visit again soon!
