  • "This was a beautiful cottage which provided the perfect base for exploring."

As a family of four, plus dog, we did find the space a little small for us, especially when cooking and for sleeping (completely my fault as I misread the information before booking and thought it was a 2 bed property), but we throughly enjoyed our stay. The welcome gifts from the hosts were a lovely touch and the cottage had everything we needed.

  • "The Holiday Cottage is functional."

However the Bed creaks ever time you turn over, and the Mattress is dreadful. The wardrobe is useless, and if your not careful easily tips forward, a far larger and stable wardrobe should be installed. The cutlery draw contents need a complete overhaul I haven't seen that lower quality since the eighties. The table wobbles I had to wedge it under one leg The lack of space to the side of the hob is taken up by a small freezer ( which is useful) however when cooking there is no space to place plates or hot pans so your walking back and forth across the kitchen to the work surface near the window, which is really dangerous especially if you have dogs / children. The boiler makes a loud Bang everytime it cuts in The garden has no flowers or flower pots to enjoy as a let Holiday I expect more Im my opinion this is Not a 4 star rating. The welcome pack was appreciated

Modern and well equipped! The owners were very friendly and accommodating with welcome pack appreciated. The views are wonderful and our dog loved the field to explore and trying to stalk the pheasants! It wasn’t too isolated either as Mold, Talacre beach and Loggerheads country park were visited frequently. Would highly recommend! Thanks for lovely stay.

Great views. Clean and well equipped. Great location and base for lots of places of interest. Lovely owners who were happy to point us in the direction of a couple of nearby pubs. Nice little sun trap in the back garden too. Had a lovely week.

  • "We're currently packing away our things at the end of our final day."

We all wished we had booked a second week. A few hours after we arrived, we met the owners on the driveway outside the property, they were friendly, asked how we had settled in and said they would stay out our way, but just to knock if ever we needed anything. Thoughout the course of the week we passed each other a couple of times and each time they checked to ask if everything was okay. The property had all the basic necessities you could ask for, and an added bonus of a washer/drier - Perfect because there are so many brilliant walking areas nearby, if the weather wasn't so great in sure we would have needed it. (oh, and sheep and pigs when you look out the window too!!) We had been left a small welcome pack, with extra treats for the dog, and an Easter hunt kit for the kiddies! (Much appreciated!!) The property is in a perfect location, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but around 15 minutes in two directions there are towns with everything you're likely to need. Whatever sort of day out you're looking for, it's just a short journey away. 5 minutes up the lane there's a free car park to start off walks at Moel Arthur Fort or the back of Moel Famau. With several others walks not much further away. Snowdonia is a little further, but still easily doable for a day trip. Rhyl and Prestatyn are approx 30 minutes away, and Llandudno and Conwy only slightly further. We tend to try pick different areas of the UK for each holiday, but this place is such great value and the area offers such variety, I'm sure we'll be looking to book it in as an extra holiday. The only downside we had was the weather has been so great we never got chance to get the wood burner going! Thank you very much for accommodating us.

  • "We spent our honeymoon at Stone Cottage and couldn't have chosen a more perfect place."

Sue and Geoff were so lovely and welcoming, the little touches they added were so thoughtful and made our stay feel really special. We will definitely be spending our anniversary there. The cottage is warm, clean and surprisingly spacious. The shower is hot and forceful. The washing machine a useful facility for a windy, wet winter and the stove is delightful to curl up in front of after a day exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. Waking up in the morning and pulling the blinds up to a garden full of pheasents and partridge foraging around the pigs and sheep will just make you smile x

  • "Stone Cottage is a perfect escape from the world."

It is comfortable, well equipped and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The host family are kind, welcoming and they did everything that they could to make our stay enjoyable. They pay attention to detail, for example, they left treats for all of the family, which was very much appreciated, especially by our four legged friends. We stayed for two weeks and we were sad when it was time to leave. We will definitely return to stay a Stone Cottage when we are in the North Wales area again. A true little gem, in every respect!

Sue and her family are delightful and the generous welcome pack was such a treat! Our two cats were warmly welcomed and the cottage was perfect for having them with us, stone floors, could close rooms off, nothing they could 'damage' and a lovely big windowsill in the kitchen from which to view the sheep! Our only suggestion for improvement is a pair of scissors in the kitchen! All in all a home from home to happily relax in. Many thanks!

Was lovely to wake up to the animals each morning and the gorgeous little lambs, the Turkey was a surprise guest :). Very friendly hosts and were available to answer any questions. Received a really nice welcome pack to which was a surprise but very much appreciated. There are plenty of fields to give the dog a quick run but you will need to drive out if you want to go on a proper walk which we did on a couple of days. It was lovely to just sit on the patio in the sunshine with a glass of wine and to enjoy the peace and quiet. I managed to totally switch off from everything which is what I went there for, just myself and my dog had a very peaceful and relaxing time. I would definitely recommend a visit.

It is cosy, comfortable and clean. The location is perfect as there are shops etc nearby, but it is also amazing for walking as it is surrounded by fields. There is plenty of room for parking, and it is easy to find. The only down side for us was that the garden is not secure enough to let dogs off the lead - they can get through the fence very easily, straight into the area where the sheep and turkeys are. This was a big worry for us as we would hate for the dogs to upset the other animals - I am aware the listing says dogs on leads outside of the property however a secure garden would make the cottage even better. Also the bedroom is right by the kitchen, and the freezer is very noisy so this was not ideal throughout the night. All in all, a great cottage and we would love to stay again.
