"Getting in to the shower for someone a little older could be a bid of a problem ..."
Getting in to the shower for someone a little older could be a bid of a problem if thay have mobility problems the way the taps are positioned on the bath we had to buy two slip mat's and it could do with a hand rail near the window
"Sunny Bay is a lovely comfortable and warm apartment with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday ."
Just a 20 minute walk takes you to the beach and there is a nice pub , shop and pharmacy just across the road. We loved it and will be going back . It is ideally situated to visit Filey , Bridlington and Scarborough. Thank you Caroline and Andy x
"Excellent property very good value ,spotlessly clean and comply would highly recommend"
"The flat was lovely, with everything you need for the perfect holiday, I always take washing up liquid, wash tabs et cetera but all these were provided."
I would just say Kenny, the cleaner could do with his duster a little more. Apart from that it was a perfect holiday, thank you, My Granddaughter and I enjoyed going to the beach which is so close and also use of all the facilities.
"Property was exactly what we expected and was well equipped."
We enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing week’s holidays
"The property was lovely but hadnt been cleaned properly on arrival cooker hood was full of grease microwave wasnt very clean all surfaces were coated in dust mirrors dirty and clumps of hair around furniture legs and behind door."
After booking with you several times before and always finding everything spot on this was very disappointing for cleanliness
We are very sorry to hear the apartment wasn’t up to its usual standard. Thank you for bringing it to our attention the matter has been dealt and we hope you come back to visit soon. Regards Andy and Caroline Property Owner

The apartment was ideal for us two and we loved it
"Absolutely fabulous in all aspects."
Can’t wait to go back there again.
"Lovely apartment, very comfortable, throughly enjoyed our stay, would have been nice to have had a pint of milk on arrival and a few dishwasher tablets or at least some washing up liquid."
Clean, warm and cosy. Exceptional value for money. Loved the location and enjoyed making use of the sauna, steam room and pool. We will definitely recommend this property to others.

Only one criticism. The microwave oven was not clean. Apart from that everything was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Absolutely stunning place."
Every thing you would need is provided. Little niggles microwave too technical. Could not suss it out.but maybe that was just me. Plug in bathroom sink needs fixing. It kept getting stuck.just two Little things that can be easily fixed. I would be pleased to go there again.bed was super comfy. Lovey clean apartment. Cleaners are a credit to you.
"Fantastic base to tour the east coast lovely apartment modern and well stocked with equipment security on the bay was super helpful about parking my bike so it could be chained up ."
Thanks for an amazing anniversary weekend sykes cottages.
"The property could have been cleaner when we arrived."
The front door to the property was not secure , lock on door faulty. The kitchen cupboards were overstocked for 2 people. And no room for guest in the kitchen cupboards for food. The crockery needed to be washed as food deposits were on plates and dishes in cupboards. The mattress was extremely hard.
"Lovely apartment to relax."
Very clean comfortable. Everything you need even for the doggy. Would visit again. Had a lovely long weekend. Would highly recommend.
"More detail to cleaning"
"Thank you for a perfect short stay in your lovely clean comfortable apartment."
Well equipped with everything needed and in a perfect location. Bed super comfy would highly recommend.
"The apartment was lovely, and very well positioned."
Slight down side there was nothing to tell us about parking, although facilities are there it is not allocated parking and no sign anywhere to say where we should park. Also the apartment opposite at times had what must have been a large dog that barked causing it to echo in the whole building at times. Other than these few points it was a very enjoyable week thankyou.

Overall a we had really good week for Christmas apartment was clean and tidy and comfortable good position for amenities on site
"The cottage was as described but just a bit disappointed that there was only 1 thin bath towel each (no hand towels) that struggled to dry before next shower and the mugs were all quite stained ."
Otherwise happy with the apartment and position on the site lovely to just pop opposite for the adult swimming session.
"Had a wonderful time, everything you needed in apartment even a pint of milk tea and coffee on arrival."
Ideal base for exploring Yorkshire. The only negative, maybe need to invest in a new bed, the bed there was very rickety, husband had to tighten up all the bolts on the bed.
"The apartment was well equipped, spacious for a couple."
The bathroom was good and the hot water was great. The cleanliness of apartment could have been better, lots of dust and the communal hallway had a musty smell. Although there was a notice in the apartment saying extra cleaning had been in place due to covid-19 and the remote controls, hairdryer etc had been sterilise and placed in plastic bags they had not! We brought our own bedding and towels, the bed was not very comfortable but we expected that. The juliet balcony was nice for the late afternoon sun however the occupants below often had a cigarette at their outside table so this filled our bedroom with cigarette smoke. The site was very good, the pub was just across the road, we did use the pub a couple of times but we did not like how many dogs there was in the dining area, people feeding them at the table! We saw one cock its leg on the wall and nobody bothered but we are not dog people. We thought that the apartment was OK but was expensive and the cleanliness let it down, the site was good and it's an ideal base to explore the Yorkshire coast. We would go again but would do more research.
"Our only gripe is the post code took us to the wrong 66 sunrise so we spent half an hour trying the code at the wrong apartment."
"The apartment was superb, it had every facility we needed, and was an ideal base for exploring the area and for us to relax in the evenings."
The area around Filey is beautiful, and we will definitely be back. We will also definitely book with Sykes again.
"We had a fantastic break and the apartment made a perfect base for our week in Yorkshire."
It was clean and comfortable with all the equipment and facilities we could have needed. I would recommend the apartment to anyone.
"Brilliant cottage, lovely and clean."
Close to the beach and the beautiful moors. Our 2 children aged 1 and 5 loved the swimming onsite. Beautifully decorated and lovely, warm and inviting.
"The location was fantastic for the pub, pool, beach."
Weather wasnt too great so spent alot of time in the apartment which was fine as it had everything we needed, wifi, smart tv, comfy sofa. Will definitely return.
"The apartment was in a good location, close to amenities and beach."
It was exactly as advertised and we were happy with it, on the whole. The bay it’s self it’s fantastic with a gorgeous dog friendly beach 10 minutes walk away. Positives: Dog friendly Close to amenities As described WiFi worked well Nice views of courtyard from bedroom windows Negatives: There was a couple of areas which we felt let down the property, for example there was only around a quarter of a toilet roll in the bathroom, with no additional rolls provide. Firstly we didn’t feel this was hygienic (From a COVID perspective) as it was obviously left by the previous occupants who would have touched it, and it’s not as though it could have been sanitised afterwards. It was also inconvenient as there is no shop onsite. Also, there was only about 2 ‘squirts’ worth of liquid soap in the bathroom. Again this isn’t great especially at the moment when we’re all so keen to wash hands more often. We did pack hand sanitizer so it wasn’t a massive issue but again, it’s just the details that make you wonder what else has been missed. The fridge was extremely noisy, it seems like the fan isn’t working correctly and there was a constant and fairly loud hum. We were only there for 2 nights so didn’t bother us too much, but it probably would be annoying if staying for longer. We would definitely return to the bay, but we’d likely chose a different property next time around.
"Enjoyed the holiday, fantastic spot for the beach, comfortable apartment, would ..."
Enjoyed the holiday, fantastic spot for the beach, comfortable apartment, would and I am going again, suitable but not the best, it's the area that matters to me, safe and friendly xx
"Even my husband couldn't walk to beach in five minutes very steep hill down to beach I'm disabled so couldn't walk it and hubby wouldn't have been able to push me up in wheel chair."
Apartment was not very clean floor dusty and covered in sand. Normally no problems but cause I hadn't been to good the week before didn't take cleaning stuff due to what happened with the situation couldn't get much manage a bottle of bleach at least the sink was clean after that. Nothing to wash floor with overwise everything we needed. Just wished we didn't have to clean as soon as we got there. No we didn't ring cause we have heard horror stories about making complaints while still there.
"Lovely fully equipped & comfortable apartment."
Ideal walking location to pub, beach, Filey & Hunmanby Gap. Short drive to Brid & Scarborough. Certainly would recommend and return. Welcome pack handy. The Bay lacking a shop but no reflection on apartment. No DVD player as advertised but not an issue for us as would not have used.
"I was disappointed that there was not a proper freezer."
There was no news agents or any convenience store other than the coffee shop. The washing machine soap tray was very dirty. Very good location for the beach walks and other amenities. Lovely and quiet restful place.
"My expectation were high and they were met well by this apartment which had everything we needed for a good holiday."
It was very conveniently positioned for the centre particularly the pub. Almost everything worked well and there were dishwasher tablets in the very welcome Welcome Pack. The DVD player did not work and the sounds made suggested that there was a DVD stuck inside, but the smart TV was enough to chill out to.
"Everything, great holiday, look forward to booking again thank you"
"Comfortable and clean accommodation in a development of well kept properties just a ten minute walk to the spacious sandy beach."
Great base to explore the region.
"Lovely apartment situated in the Bay Holiday Village Filey."
The apartment was very clean, comfortable and with all the essentials of modern living. Compact kitchen with sufficient crockery, and utensils.. Toilet roll, kitchen roll and washing up equipment provided. Fully working dishwasher. Small selection of tea and coffee also there on arrival. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away and has the most amazing views of surrounding coastline. Pub with restaurant on The Bay which was very nice. Also coffee shop which became takeaway pizza at night. Pharmacy open Monday to Friday but no actual shop. This apartment exceeded my expectations and I wouldn’t hesitated to use it again. Felt like home from home.
"Sunny bay was the perfect location and apartment for our getaway."
It’s clean, comfortable, quiet and equipped with everything we needed along with being close to the centre and access to the beach.
"Fantastic location - opposite the leasure complex, we have stayed in many properties at the bay and I would say this was one of our favourites everything we needed and the little milk and tea/ coffee jar was much appreciated after the drive."
Clean and cosy with a sofa bed excellent. Thanks so much well defenetly book again The hoyles
"More information needed, brilliant site but didn’t know it was on a site!"
More local info needed, dog walking places, shops etc, bed very uncomfortable! No extra blanket, no hand towels, only one loo roll !!
"Lovley place to stay would like to return ."
But.disappointed with the standered of cleanliness. The bay is a fabulous place for dogs..would definitely use sykes again for the professional service that they deliver.
"Our apartment was lovely, everything we needed was there."
It was clean and fresh. The little touches like tea and coffee there for when we arrived, the pictures and ornaments around, very tasteful. We just loved the whole area. And although we didn't use it this time due to having to see so much in the area and places of interest all around, the Leisure centre was amazing. For younger people the beach was a lovely walk and there were other lovely walks to the lakes. Oh dear I'm going on too much. Loved it. Thank you

About the location
Scarborough 7.7 miles; Bridlington 10.5 miles.
Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. Gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and minke whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
