"Such a lovely cottage in a beautiful location."
The pub serves amazing food at a reasonable price. Tina was so lovely and welcoming. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable week.
I’m pleased you had a relaxing and enjoyable week. Thank you Property Owner

"I really enjoyed my stay in the cottage."
The location is ideal with easy access to Richmond, Leyburn, and Reeth. The village is quiet with little traffic. The neighbouring pub serves great, typical pub food and everyone there is very friendly. The photos accurately show what the cottage is like. The living room is spacious and a generous amount of wood was provided for the wood-burning stove. The rear 'garden' is a very small gravel area with a low fence around it. The rear garden was sufficient for my dog, but might be too small for some. A photo online would be useful. The owner is helpful and responds very quickly to queries. I highly recommend this cottage.

"This is a lovely little cottage set in a quiet village within easy reach of larger shops etc by car."
The accommodation was well set out, clean and comfortable. The cottage provided a good base to visit some of the attractions within the North Yorkshire area and we look forward to returning.
-
"A great property in a great location and in a lovely village."
A short distance from Leyburn and Catterick Garrison

"The cottage itself was nice."
Everywhere clean and comfortable, apart from the settees as need new ones, due to sinking down the seats. Wasn't very happy with the neighbour as there is a whole in the edge for her cat. I have a dog who went through, so not happy. When she said need to leave gap for her cat and leaving gate open. What is point of being dog friendly. If my dog had got out on road??????? My dog is my baby she's only little. Also need to have smart telly as you have the Internet. Also it would be nice if you could have curtains up at both doors as very draftey at night. Thank you

"Fantastic cottage."
The only problem we had, was the mattress was too firm , for our liking. This is a personal preference, not a problem against the property. The property was perfect in every way. The locals are really friendly, and make you feel so welcome. We have never been back to a property once we have been there, but I am sure we will be using this property again. It was perfect in every way. Location, locals, and the friendly welcome of the village.
-
"Lovely warm and cosy cottage."
Lovely and clean and comfortable, including the bed. So warm for these colder nights. Owner was lovely, making us feel at home before we got there especially regarding our dog. We have a couch potato greyhound who doesn’t do floors, so it was a relief when we were told she was one of the family. We were a bit nervous being next to a pub, but no noise or problems in fact very friendly, just a shame they’re not doing meals till December. Ideal base for the area, we found some amazing places to go. Would recommend this cottage anytime, everything we needed and plenty of space even when the dog hogged the log burner! My only personal problem was the modern cooker, no information on the top part and I did struggle with it but it didn’t spoil our stay and we managed. Would definitely return to this property.

Plenty to do in the surrouding area.
-
"This cottage was just what we were after."
It was both clean and tidy, and in the heart of the village. Being next door to the pub meant we were able to meet many of the locals, and to feel part of the community. We will definitely book this cottage again.
-
"We were looking for a peaceful, no hassle, break and that's exactly what we got."
We have no complaints about the hosts or the facilities and would gladly recommend it.
-

"Cottage good."
booked next to pub to eat out without having to drive, Pub not open fully and not offering food. disappointing, but due evidently to ill health. Very friendly owner and eggs milk and bread left for us on arriving,. much appreciated.
-
"Fantastic week at this lovely cottage."
Weather was great. Very handy to be next to a pub. Visited lots of nice places which were only 30-40 minutes away. Our baby girl loved seeing the cows, sheep and horses in the fields. Would definitely return.
-
"The cottage was lovely in a lovely village and great places to visit and dine"
-
"Lovely clean cottage set in a beautiful location close to lots of amenities."
Owner very accommodating. Would highly recommend.
-
"The cottage is very nice and comfortable with everything you need."
The downsides were, one of the reasons we booked the cottage was the availability of a twin room, unfortunately it was not possible to sleep in one of the single beds as the mattress needed replacing. Another reason for booking the cottage was the close proximity to the pub next door and that it served food. Unfortunately the due to illness the pub was only open Thursday to Sunday and it was not serving food. Although there were other pubs within a few miles if you wanted a drink with a meal out you had the additional cost of a taxi. The only shop in the village was closed which resulted in a long drive if you needed any bits and pieces you may forget. It would have been good if the website had been updated to confirm the issues about the pub and shop, as well as the mattress needing replacing. So although the cottage was very nice and we enjoyed our stay we would not have booked the cottage if we had been aware of the issues.
-
"A hidden gem, very nicely presented house in Hunton ideal for seeing the Yorkshire Moors and Dales, very easy to get to."
We really loved our stay and would really recommend to family and friends. Parking off road was great, the garden at the back of the cottage was nice to sit and have our breakfast and a drink in the evening . It was so nice we could take our dog and the fact they had put dog bowls out was a lovely touch. We had travelled from Devon so it was nice to have bread, fresh eggs and milk was a very nice gesture.
-
"This spacious spotlessly clean cottage has everything you need its home from home!"
Ideal location for exploring what the area has to offer. We loved the log burner it was a great touch! Day trip to stump Cross caverns is certainly a must, about an hour with stunning scenery throughout the whole journey We visited Aysgarth falls only 30 mins away, Bolton Castle on the way back Richmond 15 mins away , beautiful little city, visited the castle ,lots of views/shops and plenty of places to eat, followed by a walk along the river swale. Bought a pork pie from the noted pie shop, best we had ever tasted. Catterick 5 mins away, has 2 small shopping centres , with Tesco, shoe zone, poundstretcher and Iceland to name a few, also an Aldi for all.essentials. has a couple of pubs/ fish and chip shop that serve food and a McDonald's and KFC Ideal location for some mystery walks , we are not avid walkers however we did x2 6 mile round walks , finding little streams and beautiful scenery Conclusion: we enjoyed thoroughly, not our usual type of holiday, however beautiful cottage worth every penny with fantastic scenery close by.
-
"Everything we had hoped for this holiday had met our requirements and more, We had a lovely time and the weather was kind to us."
and we saw some of the best scenery England can offer. Will be going back again soon.

"The cottage was lovely the area was nice the only thing I would say was a tea ..."
The cottage was lovely the area was nice the only thing I would say was a tea towel and dish clothes would be handy and also would like to have been informed that the pub next door was not doing food but other than that it was cosy comfortable and very homely
-
"We loved it, so comfy and everything you could need in the cottage."
Close to Catterick and Leyburn where the main supermarkets were.A very quiet village, so lovely and play park down the road for the kids and thry loved splashing in the ford which runs through the village. Washing machine a bonus ,got loads washed and dried whilst we was there .The hubby loved the log burner too.
-
"We had a great holiday, the cottage was lovely, really cozy."
It was in a good place for site seeing. It had everything you need.
-
"The cottage was cosy, comfortable and met our needs."
My children were thrilled by the nearby Ford and park. We also had a timid visitor - Dennis the cat. The location was perfect for sightseeing. Forbidden Corner, Hawes, Brimham Rocks, Wensleydale Creamery and James Herriot museum suited all of us.
-
"This delightful cottage was very comfy, very clean and well equipt in a lovely friendly village would certainly use again."
-
"A lovely quiet cottage of a high standard."
-
"Although the cottage is pet friendly and is comfortable for humans it should be noted that the village of Hunton has no dog exercise areas within the village itself as dogs are not allowed on the village green or various grassed areas."
-
"Nothing is Negatives."
Everything’s is Perfect. The Owner is very Friendly . So Comfy Home . Very Beautiful Cottage In Nice Quiet Village ,, We love Peaceful for a week after So Busy in the City. Lots to Visiting in Other Places, Not Far To Travelling. Must Need Car. Will come back in Future.

"The cottage was a good size for us, comfortable, clean, and by the looks of it recently decorated."
The village itself is central to a number of attractions, and we didn't have to travel far to visit them. We found a number of pubs that are dog friendly and serve good food. The Kings Head in Richmond, The Wyvil in Constable Burton, and The Countryman Inn next door to the cottage. Enjoyed the week away from home, and would consider going back in the future.
-
"Excellent cottage, beautifully prepared and well equipped with a very generous provision of basics and cleaning materials to make us feel at home."
Thank you.
-
"The cottage was lovely."
Very clean and comfortable and it was in a lovely village. Only down side was not knowing that the mobile signal was very poor but that was minor compared to the overall package. Lovely touch to have some of the basics to greet us so we were able to have a cuppa before unloading the car.
-
"Nice cottage good place to stay"
-
"Cottage was immaculate!"
Location perfect! Plenty of walks in and around the area! Excellent meals in the Countryman inn next door! Tony the landlord was really friendly and helpful! We were pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t any noise at closing time! We will definitely be back!

"Very enjoyable break can throughly recommend cottage."
-
"The opening hours of the local shop seem unpredictable."
If you’re arriving late make sure you’ve got some supplies with you (and this includes some fuel and kindling for the fire if it’s cold). It’s a very cosy and clean cottage and the next door pub we’re friendly and welcoming and only closed when you went home!
-
"The cottage was really nice."
The welcome pack of milk eggs and bread was a lovely surprise. The owners had gone the extra mile leaving condiments, cling film tin foil etc. The pub next door opens at 6 pm the food is all home cooked and although menu limited it was delicious. The only prob we had was being too hot over night as heating kept coming on. The cooker is an induction hob and could do with an idiots quick guide. The oven took forever to heat up. Would definitely stay again. Great location for Leyburn, middleham, etc. Thanks k
-
"The owners of this cottage exceeded our requirements."
They responded to queries without hesitation and even called to check hearing and water were working efficiently as it was a new system. Very nice cottage

The property we booked was exactly what we had expected from the listing. The owner was very nice and helpful on contact. The village is picture perfect and the people we met were very welcoming and friendly. The cottage being dog friendly as well as the pub right next door made it a fantastic choice for us. There is plenty to do and see in the local area too.
-

The owner left bread milk and eggs which was very well appreciated. We will hopefully go again.
-

"What a beautiful cottage."
...everything we could have wanted was included. Lovely touches such as bread, milk, tea, coffee and fresh flowers made us feel welcome.
-
"When speaking with owner we only then found out that it didn’t have a proper garden for the dog, this would have made us think again about booking this venue."
Apart from that couldn’t fault the property or location.
-

"A fabulous cottage, spotlessly clean, everything provided is of a high standard."
The welcome pack of bread, milk, locally sourced eggs and a supply of tea bags and coffee was a lovely surprise as was the freshly cut flowers. A lovely comfortable warm cottage which, with the weather being wintry, was much appreciated. The location is perfect for the Dales, a lovely village which we walked round several times. For anyone wanting first class accommodation on a self catering basis, this is the place for you.

-
"Lovely cottage well set out ."
But there were no instructions for the hob cooker, kept going of,very frustrating.the log fire was lovely but could do with a poker to push the logs in and could do with a tin bucket to empty ash in,all round it was very nice.
-
"We had a problem with the central heating boiler when we arrived on the Saturday evening."
The owners managed to contact a plumber who arrived at 9 a.m. on the Sunday morning and replaced a component. The owners also arrived shortly afterward to ensure that the problem had been resolved. I don't know how they persuaded the plumber to turn out on a Sunday but the fact that they did and that they bothered to drive across themselves to make sure we were happy speaks volumes about the commitment to making their guests comfortable.
