"The lodge is lovely, clean, cosy and peaceful."
It's a shame there isn't a list of information about local stuff as there are walks in the area but we only discovered the leaflets on our last day. Skinningrove and the Land of Iron are nearby and worth a visit. The library in Loftus has leaflets. Also useful to know about the food shops available in Loftus. I would recommend the Lodges as they are a good base. There are a couple of free car parks in Loftus and you can travel a fair distance on the bus.

"A very nice area and place to stay."
This was the second time we stayed there and would go again.
-
"We could have done with instructions about working the cooker and microwave, but otherwise no complaints at all"
-
"Lovely little lodge, very comfortable, quiet surroundings with amazing views down to the sea."
Great facilities within a short drive or bus ride. Everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
-
"Lodge warm and well equipped."
Furniture different from picture (not as nice}. Fridge also different much smaller than picture. Front door hard to open. Lovely area especially Saltburn by the sea.
-
"We had a great holiday and stay."
The area way a nice quiet place and is close to areas to go out for the day. We are talking about coming again and look forward to it.

"Had a wonderful few days at sycamore lodge."
Accomodation was very comfortable, cosy, and quiet, with just about everything we needed for an enjoyable break! Short drive to nearest beach (skinningrove) which was a dog walkers paradise, and only a few minutes further to Saltburn, again a quaint little seaside resort. Christine (the manager) was so friendly and helpful, with nothing being to much trouble. Will definitely be returning in the future. Thankyou for a great holiday!

"Great place and lots of rural walks, ideal for dog owners"
-
"Very comfortable accommodation thanks."
Spotlessly clean on arrival. Well equipped and good quality towels and bed linen. The wood cladding of the lodge will need some attention fairly soon but that's more aesthetic. Thanks again.

"Relaxing 4 day break at Sycamore Lodge at the end of March."
The days were mostly sunny so little need for heating but when needed the lodge warmed up quickly. It was clean and comfortable and the outside area was immaculate. The lounge furniture was different to photos on the website, which worked to our advantage because the rocker had been replaced (rocker and young dog may have been a hazard), the replacement sofa and chair were much better. Kitchen etc were well stocked with crockery and there was even picnic wear. Wifi info was out of date in the visitors book, so I updated it to 'check the back of the wifi hub', the signal was great. All was in good order apart from bath panel which was cracked at both ends and bathroom toilet rail which needed a bit of paint on brackets (but still in better condition than my own home!).The nearest village has little to offer but walk or drive a bit further to Loftus for groceries etc. The lodge is well placed for trips to the beautiful coastal villages, Whitby, Scarborough and the moors. Friendly and helpful couples and dogs in the other lodges while we were there. Hope to visit again.

"Cleaning in the cottage could have been better."
There was food spillage in kitchen drawer and between cupboard and fridge. A larger fridge would be useful. In the bedroom there is a green light which you cannot turn off which shone in my eyes all might making sleep difficult. Cottage tired looking could do with updating. No local Information for use. E.G local shops doctors etc. Cottage is in very nice surroundings and quite.

"Relaxing holiday in peaceful location with views of the sea and surrounding countryside."
Lodge had all the facilities you could need and was clean and tidy. The decked area was lovely. We had no issues with the wifi at all despite what we had read in reviews prior to our visit. Very friendly host too.
-
"Very good value for money , quiet site , immaculate lodge , good WI FI and facilities."
Just a little bit isolated for us , need a car and cannot walk to beach. We enjoyed visiting lots of nice beaches from here by car , loved Runswick Bay and had great meals in pub in Staites . Great coast nearby and picturesque bays , met very friendly people . Thanks to friendly couple on site who helped us with our car problems

"Great location for exploring North Yorks."
Cabin was excellent, enjoyed our stay
-
"We know you don't get hot weather regularly but could have done with a small fan."
-
"Both the accommodation and the grounds were immaculately clean and tidy and basics such as toilet rolls and washing up liquid were available as we're plenty of lovely towels."
The only negative points were a very small frying pan and we could not find instructions for the microwave or the induction hob but we eventually worked it out.
-
"The location is outside a small village with good views towards the coast."
It is situated on an immaculately kept site with owners who are a delight. The lodge is cosy, comfortable and has everything you need for a gentle and peaceful stay where you can relax and no one bothers you! We used it as a dog friendly base to explore the coast and the local shops have all you need but the big shops are within 10 to 15 minutes drive. There is a small caravan and mobile home park next door and vehicles come and go but there is none of the noise or hassle associated with bigger sites. The lodge is ideal for a no none sense, affordable break and has not been subjected to the ‘price hikes’ that we are seeing as we come out of COVID.

Warm, comfortable lodge with hot water, bath and shower. Good location for exploring the coast and moors. Would have liked a cafetiere. Would definitely return.

"Lack of sign posting to get to lodge plus only 1 bin bag"
-
"The lodge was just as described in a peaceful and quiet spot."
The sea view was a pleasant surprise. Our family had a great time and would definitely return. The WiFi was great and we encountered no problems at all with this .

"We found the accommodation clean and comfortable and adequately equipped."
The site is well laid out and well maintained and we appreciated the distant sea view. With easy access to both the moors and coast we found it an ideal location. The ride across the moors via Castleton and Hutton le Hole to Helmsley was a real joy.

quite near to a couple of pubs and a small shop with supermarkets within 10 mins drive. this is a place to go for a quiet and restful break with loads to do.

"We had a lovely holiday here and would certainly return."
The lodge was clean and comfortable.Being able to sit out on the decking type area was great. Often did this to read and you were not disturbed. The lodge is in a great area for going out and about. Lots to see and do in this area.
-
"Very comfortable cabin with everything we needed for a enjoyable week."
The grounds and facilities are excellent.
-
"Nice cabin, comfy & cosy once warmed through with the heaters."
With 4 adults the hot water tank didn’t last long & takes a few hours to warm up again. Kitchen equipment basic and the WiFi does not work at all. Still a pleasant week away in a good location.
-
"Easy to find and a great location for exploring the NY Moors."
A lovely warm welcome from the host on arrival and very helpful when I had to ask when I couldn’t find the switch for the fire. Beautiful views of the coast from the window which I wasn’t expecting. My only disappointment was that WiFi was non existent although was listed. I checked we’d connected correctly as I had a work email to send but had to drive 5 miles to a fast food outlet to send it. I fully appreciate rural broadband is an issue in this country but maybe it should be removed from the listing as it was non existent. It was a beautifully clean, pleasant place and I was pleasantly surprised apart from the dreadful broadband
-
"There was an unexpected distant sea view, which was appreciated."
Wi-fi was more than limited, it was non-existent. This situation is known to the owner and he is attempting to get the matter resolved. The lodge is well situated and we found it a very quiet location.
-
"THIS HOLIDAY COTTAGE WAS EXCELLENT."
AND IN A GOOD LOCATION TO REACH ALL TOWNS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS ,WE WILL CERTAINLY BE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR.
-
"Lovely lodge which was very clean and tidy."
Owner Steven was very welcoming and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this lodge,
-
"The location was really lovely with views across to Saltburn."
The owner was very obliging in anything he could do to make it comfortable. There was a problem with the doors sticking to open and close, this was due to the very hot weather which had distorted them. A very lovely holiday with no hitches at all and was enjoyed by myself (who was looking forward to a relaxing holiday after long illness) my daughter and also the dog who loved the lawns and fields around.
-
"I had a great week at Sycamore Lodge."
The owner, Steve was very helpful and the lodge was clean and comfortable. The location was great being within easy distance of a beach where my dog could run around and play; as well as being not too far away from places such as Whitby, Staithes, and Runswick Bay which I explored. I would certainly recommend this lovely lodge, and may return to stay there another time.
-
"All was good with the chalet, comfortable and clean."
It held together through the biggest storm of the 'decade'. We thoroughly enjoyed the nearby places, our usual visits Saltburn and a drive over the moors to Danby centre. Also our first visit to Redcar a wonderful surprise I can recommend. On returning from days out we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the decking after our meal in the peace and quiet of the beautiful grounds.
-
"The quiet location and the peacefulness, the lodge was warm and cosy even in the sub zero temperatures some mornings, there was plenty of hot water which has been lacking in some places we have stayed, there was a bath which was nice to relax in after a long days walking."
The lodge had everything we needed from an iron to a hairdryer, the owner Steve was very friendly and helpful.
-

Location beautiful and reasonable central for all the the things we wanted to do.

Great for walking site seeing or just relaxing. Well worth the money. Many thanks.

"A LOVELY LODGE IN A BEAUTIFUL AND QUIET LOCATION."
THE OWNER STEVE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND IT WAS A PLEASURE TO COME BACK TO THE LODGE AT THE END OF THE DAY. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. ONE NEGATIVE POINT WAS WiFi DID NOT WORK.
-
"Lovely and quiet, lodge very comfortable, beautifull views, Steve very friendly and helpfull, would highly recommend lodge for quiet and peaceful break."
-
"The location was great."
We were in a quiet location, which was nice. views were spectacular. We traveled a short distance to whitby, Robin hoods bay we even went to Scarborough for the day. We were never short if anything to do. The lodge was very clean. It was cozy like home from home. The biggest thing for me and my partner was the beds, we both have bad backs and struggle to sleep on uncomfortable mattresses. But the mattresses were very comfortable we had the best nights sleep. Steve the owner was very welcoming. We are already looking at booking again. Highly recommended

"The Lodge was very comfortable, warm and cosy."
It was in a very quiet area. You didn`t have to travel far to the beach, next time I will book in the summer as it rained and was very windy and wet. That didn`t spoil it for us. Steve, the owner was very helpful, he came to see us to see if we were ok and if there was anything he could help us with. We will book again, next time for the full week. Thank you for everything. "I took my 86 year old mother and two sisters for one week, we were made very welcome from start to finish nothing was to much for the owner Stephen."
The lodge was of high standard with everything inside that made it so comfortable and cosy, I would defiantly recommend anyone else to pay this lodge a visit and enjoy the surrounding sites with all the comforts of home from home. Thank you for giving me and my family memories to treasure x
